Oooo- just got it to work.

Who's leading, and which Americans have aleady gone? I turned it on during Hilay's round.

lonewolf
Apr. 16, 2009, 11:04 PM
Christina Libherr (I know that's probably wrong) from Switzerland and No Mercy are leading.

Rich Fellers and Danielle Torano went according to the order of go, but I didn't see them.

Beezie had one rail (the out of the two stride)

Richard Spooner had two down with Ace, while being very fast

Michelle Spadone had the last rail (went for a flyer, horse couldn't do it)

And you saw Hilary, who I thought rode great

lonewolf
Apr. 16, 2009, 11:07 PM
I guess by now you know that Rich Fellers is sitting second.

Christine McCrea had a slow(ish) clear (even though she did 4 in the 3!)

Ashlee Bond had an early rail (jump #4) and a medium time, but rode aggressively and well (as usual).

I watched her at all the California shows, and she is a really game and tough rider. So congrats to her!

MHM
Apr. 16, 2009, 11:24 PM
I remember seeing Ashlee win at Harrisburg on a small (or medium?) pony. I guess that was quite a while ago by now!

I thought it was cute that they played California Girl after her round, and she had a big smile at that.

Wow, Sapphire was fantastic! Yay for them.

lonewolf
Apr. 17, 2009, 12:01 AM
Sapphire went wonderfully, and is sitting 3nd. Rich Fellers is just behind him in 4th (after being the first rider in the ring).

Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Shutterfly took over the lead. That has got to be the best horse in the world (indoors, at least).

For the Canadians: both Ian Millar and Keean White had 8 faults. Ian was very fast, but In Style didn't handle the speed as well as some other horses. Keean was great, but knocked down the last 2 fences. Too bad.

Apr. 17, 2009, 12:07 AM
Final Update:

Kent Farrington had a jump down at #4.

Mandy Porter had a really unfortunate early rail at the second jump, then was really fast and good afterwards. Still ended up 15th.

Top four didn't change: Meredith MB, Christina Libherr, McLain, then Rich.

It has been amazing to watch! I loved seeing Ian Millar, he's such a classy rider. I enjoyed watching MMB, Marcus Ehning, Albert Zoer, McLain, and Daniel Etter. I really thought Rodrigo was going to eat it at that oxer.

Melanie Smith said that the finals are "never" coming back to Vegas, and probably not to the US--why?

If you want to watch US programs in Canada, all you have to do is use a program like Hotspot Shield. This will hide your IP address, and allow you to surf and watch tv anonymously.

I am in Canada, and I am watching the Dressage finals right now...

For those who are blocked on their computers -- at the top of the webpage for Universal Sports is a link "Find Our Channel" to see if your local NBC station is carrying the broadcast on their digital stations. Click on this link (http://www.universalsports.com/fls/23000/tv/where-to-find-on-tv.html), enter your zip code and how you get your TV broadcasting - cable, roof-top antenna, dish, etc (make sure you scroll all the way down the list to find your method of receiving broadcasts), and it will tell you if you have a station that is carrying the sports broadcast.

Since Universal Sports are part of NBC, they are broadcasting it for all over-the-air (free) antenna reception for digital television on stations nationwide. Look for it on your digital NBC.3 or NBC-3 or NBC.03 station. :) The TV broadcast is at the same time as the schedule shown on the website.

Watching the equestrian competition in high def digital on a wide screen TV sure beats watching it on that small computer screen via internet streaming.

I got it!!! Thank You !!! We are on over the air converter box. I just went to the NBC station and clicked up.

Well, it took me over 3 hours of tinkering this evening but I have FINALLY got the feed up. On my computer it wouldn't run in FF2, FF3 or Google Chrome, and IE was refusing to install. I ended up having to uninstall MS Silverlight, do a regedit, download a tool from MS that did another different regedit, then install IE8, which couldn't install its own updates but installed enough so I can watch the damn feed. For the record I put in a help request 48 hours ago and never heard anything back from their CS.

FWIW I watch streaming video on this computer ALL the time on other sites without difficulty.

Ah well - working now, so let the games begin! :)

If you can bear to wait a few hours, they are putting video up for on demand viewing and no hassles getting it to work or out of pocket expenses.

Me? WAIT? :D Nah, I'd rather hassle and fix it, but then I'm geekily-inclined and the Mysteriously Noninstalling IE has been bugging me since IE7 came out - just never had time to sit down and git'er'dun!

I am also really enjoying the virtual course tour.

What's up with the mini jump in the anteroom?

I think they can use it to school inside if they want, but it looks like they're doing their schooling in the outside/tent area. Those that have competed at Madison Square Garden or Washington can attest to tiny schooling areas and low ceilings (and sometimes columns/poles to dodge.)

What's up with the mini jump in the anteroom?

Many riders will walk the horse over a low jump, trying to get a rub before they go in the ring.

That was an amazing jump-off! Sapphire looked really fast, yet Shutterfly shaved over a second off her time, even though they steadied a little to the last jump- unreal!

This will be a great final round on Sunday, with the Americans right in the thick of things. Plus I think we should get partial credit for Meredith, since she was born and raised here!

Who did she ride with as a junior? I can't quite remember.

If you have over the air digital, try the local NBC station, as mentioned before. It won't be the main feed, it will be like 5.2 or 5.3. Don't know how cable handles it. Find the times on the web site and also note that times are in EST. :)

Maybe not all NBC affiliates will carry that on their sub channels, but mine is.

While I appreciate the commentary, I miss watching CBC coverage of Spruce Meadows. (Used to live near the border) Excellent commentary and you didn't miss anything when they went to commercial, unlike this coverage.
