Small program in Anaheim Hills, CA recently had to retire one of our horses and now are looking for a horse to fill her spot. We are looking for a quiet, steady-eddy type, aged 8-20, 15-16 hands, serviceably sound for light w/t/c. English or western background okay, must have excellent ground manners.
We work with emotionally troubled and abused children ages 6-12, and do both riding and groundwork sessions to work on building the bond and trust between child and horse. We are on a 4 acre "ranch" in Anaheim Hills, and have space for 4 horses and a mini. Our horses are used in 1 hour sessions 3-4 times a week, get twice daily turnout, regular rides by staff, individualized care, and lots of love and attention. When a horse is ready to retire, we give first option to the old owner and work hard to ensure a happy retirement home.
