Wow, they're going all-out on the advertising campaign this year! I've had that silly, cheesy song stuck in my head all day. The commercial plays on local channels at least every hour, and I hear it on every radio station at some point in the day. It's top billing on the wkyt.com site, with a fancy page-corner ad and a countdown timer.

It's the same as last year; I admit it is growing on me. "The Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event you've got to be there ". Corniest song ever, but it is catchy. Especially when you hear it 100s of times a day, for a month!!

How cool is it, though, to live in a place where Rolex is big news? Nothing beats Lexington, Ky. :) :) You know it's springtime when the Rolex and Keeneland commercials are out full-force.

I can't find it on youtube, or else I'd share. Maybe I'll try to tape it next time it's on (maybe in 10 minutes, LOL) and I'll put it up.

My husband was in Lexington earlier this week and told me about the commercials. He said every time he saw it, he heard a very faint "Nooooooo . . . ". He figured out it was his wallet.

:lol::lol:

I haven't seen it yet, but if it's the same music and style they used last year, it gives me goosebumps.

I was at Snowbird weekend before last and the vendor's tents are already up. Ah spring in the Bluegrass... Keeneland starts tomorrow and Rolex is just around the corner!! I'm not showing at Spring Bay this weekend, but I did drive down Leestown yesterday and got major goosebumps at the sight of the training & prelim fences flagged :)

Our new website design should be going "live" within two weeks (hoping sooner). The new design will utilize video, and am planning on using the commercial as our initial video.

Love all but the song. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Turn it down and just watch it every time.

Annoying yes!

In some kinda weird way over the years you get use to the damn thing.

No, I think the other posters are talking about a commercial for the actual event, not Rolex watches. I do always watch the horse Rolex ads though! I always wonder which riders and horses they used.

Pony Grandma,

No, the local commercial is far less elegant. :)

Think *local production.*

It's a celebration, the three-day event! you've got to be there!

Well, I finally managed to tape most of it! I missed the first 8 seconds trying to turn the camera on, and it's not the best filming in the world... but for those of you out of state, here is the 2009 edition of "The Rolex Commercial (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v103/aljohnd/?action=view&current=FILE0137.flv)."

(Turn the sound up, it's all about the cheesy song!)

Oh, ewwww. That is just bad.

One of these days I am going to go private sector and start doing PR for various horse events around the country. I have a feeling that the first few months on the job will involve slapping several people upside the head.
