I am in the market for a new arena drag; current harrow's days are numbered.

I've got a mid-size tractor and a 4-wheeler, so I can go with a pull behind for either. I'm thinking one to pull behind a 4-wheeler might be easier for quick use since getting the tractor out is more labor intensive. Thoughts?

I need a drag that work with M-10 footing; we may add sand as a top dressing soon. It also needs to be good at getting rid of the "ring around the collar" (I keep telling everyone to use ALL of the ring, but that dang outside track gets the most use).

TIA!!

We have one that looks like this, it's called the Pulverizer, haha. It's much wider, but you get the idea.

thanks for the reply! That's certainly a different kind that most I've seen. Looks like it could also double as a tool to areate (sp?) pastures.

Anyone else wanna chime in?

englishivy, we've moved your thread here to Around the Farm, where you may get a better response.

Thanks!

lol Best arena drag I found is a 7 year old little boy with his troy built tractor his dad and him got up and running. He took the springs from his old crib and tied it to his tractor and drags the ring, just about every day until he either runs out of gas or his mom gets tired of hearing the tractor go round and round!

Now for a certain price we could see about renting this little boy out! :)

I have to admit he does do a very good job and my ring never has hoof prints! We never have that built up ridge!

This one is used by many western barns:

Have not compared prices, but Dover has one which is ATV suitable - I'm sure you could find it cheaper some where else.

We purchased a King Kutter tiller from Tractor Supply (American made in TN) for various uses, it has turned into a wonderful tool for working up the arena. Makes it soft, even, tho it does require a 3 point hookup. It also rototilles my gardens, churns up and fixes groundhog holes in the fields, uneven areas, etc. Very useful piece of equipment!

Here is a link to something similar, different brand tho. http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_34330_-1______14345|14346|14357|34330?listingPage=true&Special=false (http://www.tractorsupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay_10551_10001_34330_-1______14345%7C14346%7C14357%7C34330?listingPage=t rue&Special=false)

LOL! I've had the "Box Spring Drag" yoo. They work pretty good. For hard surfaces, a roll of chicken wire works too.

Right now, I have a chain harrow from TSC. Wow, I must be a grown-up. I bought a "real" harrow.

We have a DR Power Grader. http://drpower.com/power-grader.aspx It does an awesome job, very easy to use and can be pulled with a 4-wheeler.

Is there a drag that I could pull w/ my truck? I have a standard tow hitch that I use for my trailer and a smaller ball for pulling rentals like the wood splitter. No tractor yet
Oh now I clicked on the link for the power grader and it looks like that one would work.

Another vote for the TR3!! It has an attachment for your "ring around the collar" problem, but I've never had to use it!!

I pull my DR power grader with my grand cherokee!! I'm sure it's a sight to see, but I don't care, works for me!! I don't own a tractor/utv either, so the SUV it is ;).

+1 Mine's an 8 footer so it sticks out past the sides of the tires a little.
