I just bought packs of pre-sticky rhinestones that come in strips. It was super easy to put on and I figured we can change it out to different colors when she feels like it. This one is light blue, could pass for aqua. I also got black, and next time I'm going to get pink and maybe brown
This way the helmet isn't messed up when we take it off, and 2 packs was more than enough for one application, so we have leftover in case any peel off.

So, whatcha think? too much, or cute?

I'm not much for bling, but it's cute! I like how you can take them off and change colors, as opposed to the bling that's hot glue-gunned on. I bet the black would look nice!

Hate bling with a passion but I have to admit that's pretty darn cute! :)

Cute for her age but as she moves up in the ranks I vote for no bling. It is a nice touch right now though--not too much but enough to make it her own and let her sparkle show.

TOO cute!

I've taken up ballroom dancing, and being the competitive wench that I am, I'm competing in it, so I now have LOTS of rhinestones in my house.

Which means, I've just done a martini glass design on my spare show shirt chokers in, well, rhinestones.

Why not? I mean, if you can't have fun, right? I'm considering them my personal monogram...

ahhhhdorable!!

I can't remember who; but someone has a black-blinged GR8 and it's awesome.

thanks guys! My daughter is really happy with it. Those chokers sound really nice!
I actually got the idea to do the C.O. from the pic that was posted here a little while ago, that's why I posted this because there seemed to be alot of interest in it. I didn't want to do anything permanent though, so I'm glad this worked out so well and we can change colors or take it off whenever we want. If we end up having problems with stones falling off I'll post about it. she normally schools in a different helmet though, but she'll wear this one for a pony club clinic next weekend to test it out. :D

That's so adorable! I wish I could add bling to my helmet, at least for schooling, but it's a Hampton so no such luck.

My first thought while reading was "no, oh no...no bling, please. It was so overdone before, and I thought it was out now. New rules & all?"

Then I saw the pics and I LOVE it! *I* would wear that!! Nicely done, mom!

Oh my goodness! I remember your daughter from the "do-these-rust-pants-look-good-with-this-jacket-and-my-adorable-red-hair-and-bows" thread! I am so going to kidnap her and her cute little pony too! lol

I think I may be the one with the "other" blinged GR8 (http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2141782290053076870vWMGVF) although mine isn't black, I was just talking about my next one being black on black with black stones, so I am a bling fan. I think this is cute, for sure! just watch out if she does any equitation. Judges have become a little finicky, even with the little ones - which I personally think is ridiculous!!!

Very cute! Something to think about for my daughter... and I can do stick ons! (Would never trust myself with a hot glue gun and a helmet though!)

really well done, mom!!

some disgruntled arabian hunter jumper person got a resolution passed at our last arabian convention making against the rules to have bling permamantly affixed on chokers and helmets. this made me really sad as i designed some really beautiful and tasteful designs on my chokers. oh well..i'll just try to get it vetoed next year...

but i gotta say, im not a fan.
it's okay, but bling is for western riders.
hunter/jumpers are classier than that.

granted, she is just a young'un, so its a fun thing thats fine for schooling, but don't let her go into the show ring like that.

Thanks guys! I even appreciate comments from those who aren't a fan, maybe I will take them off or do black for a show. She's only 8 and hasn't even shown yet, so she will be starting really soon in walk trot schooling shows, so nothing major, but when she gets to the bigger stuff, we will probably de-bling. lol I think it will be so cute to match the bling to her shirts though for the first few little schooling shows. let her have fun and enjoy her outfits. she can't stand the ratcatcher collars on her neck.

I bought the rhinestones at a scrapbooking store (Archivers), but they have them at other craft stores. these are what the ones I got look like in the package

She just had her first horse show today and I have pics of her with her blinged helmet. You can see how it looks in action. It's pretty subtle actually in the arena, even with the color.

looks awesome! what a cute pony. congrats on her ribbons! the sparkle is subtle but it's so pretty :D

i have a CO hampton, i almost wish i had a GR8 to put little rhinestones on  my boyfriend (who is not a horse person) thought i should put gold sparkles or pink rhinestones or something on my helmet. to stand out. i laughed for a really long time. he was being serious. my hampton would not be so "classical" anymore! .. i'm seriously considering putting some "bling" on the stripe of my old IRH that i ride at home with, though.

Your daughter looks so adorable in the sparkly helmet! I think it is really subtle, just enough to take a second glance.

I'm in the same Hampton boat, no options for blinging. You should definitely bling your IRH. Maybe I'll find a way to sparkle up my Tipperary, see how much more I can get my trainer to hate that helmet.

your child is adorable.
I like sparkles. a lot :D
definitely going to go out and buy some.
what does everyone think about black rhinestones on the black on black GR8 for showing? is that acceptable?

Just so you know, bling is against the rules at USEF shows. Rule EQ109.1 specifies "no additional adornment" on the helmet.

Mine's not really "blinged" to that extent, but I did put a rhinestone on the front and on the back! I used to have a blinged-out GPA, and am glad that those days are behind me (though it was fun while it lasted!)

Just a simple sparkle on the front: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30384988&l=f86bda7ec2&id=1044030002
And on the back: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30382237&l=f7026fe345&id=1044030002

I do love what you both have done though! I think it is a far more understated "bling" (never thought you'd hear those two words together, huh?) but it looks cute without being tack. Good work! :)

I almost bought a package of those to do my horse's browband! :)
I found some that are pearl with a flat back(and I might do light pink to go with my SSG gloves and light pink piped breastcancer show pad...I cross over from the dressage board frequently!).

Your daughter and her pony are so stinkin' adorable! I love the helmet.

I just bought a pink GR8, and its just BEGGING for bling :)

Since its going to be simply schooling, no worries about "bling remorse" in the future!

Thanks OP for the idea, looks great along the edge!
