Can anyone tell me their experiences about Domiro? Anything you don't want to post here, you can email me at christolar at comcast.net.
There is no height or video on his website.

I know that Starr Vaughn Equestrian center has bred a few Domiro's out of some different mares.. The ones they have undersaddle they are taking the dressage route though, but you could check out their conformation?
Just a thought :)

We really like his look and have considered him, but just weren't "wowed" enough to go for it... I think it's hard for plain chestnut stallions to make it for some reason. If he were black or had chrome I bet he'd have gotten a ton of breedings. :)

Actually, his color (and confo) were what caught my eye. A plain but glossy chestnut is actually quite stunning to me! :D Bays are my first choice, but goodness it gets tiring to look at just bays! I don't care a bit about chrome.

I've met Domiro several times in person. He seems to be an extremly well mannered stallion, with a good temperment. I do see him as a hunter sire definately, I believe he himself was quite successful in the hunters. He's not super tall, I'd say maybe 16.1-16.2? Email Lucchetti Ranch if you want more info, their staff is very nice, and I'm sure they will answer any questions you have about him :)

If he's liver chestnut, that would encourage me to consider him! LOVE liver chestnut the most of all colors. It's SO hard to get!

I have received many emails privately regarding this stallion. Based on the info from emails and info here I have been told:
Stallion's height is somewhere between 15.2 and 16.2
Stallion is somewhere between VERY quiet to VERY hot.
Stallion is definitely a hunter type mover to a dressage only type mover.
I find it curious the extreme difference in opinion on this horse.

Our young horse trainer is the rider of him and I have met him many times... I see him once a month. He is always very well mannered and super easy going. He is quite impressive in person. He did a stint in the hunter ring and I think there is youtube video of it. I would say he out produces himself. His offspring are kicking butt undersaddle and in the USDF breed shows. We plan to use him next year for our Fabuleux filly. I would be more than happy to ask Kevin and Ericka if it would be ok to get some casual pics of him when visiting our filly and send them to you. We are going to see her next week!
His is not hot what-so-ever and I would agree beween 16.1-16.2
You can contact Lucchetti and talk with them... Kevin, Ericka and his owner are all very nice and helpful people.

I love liver also - our Donatelli filly was liver this year with one sock identical to the way Domiro is colored and marked, and I thought it was great. Just simply saying, the 'in' color is black or bay with lots of chrome... not that it has a thing to do with his quality but to some people that makes a big difference. We don't care what color it is as long as it's a good horse! :)
I also can't understand why someone would say he's a "dressage only mover" (additionally, there are many dressage stallions I'd breed to a flat mare for a fabulous hunter mover, so to say "only" is a bit odd)... here is a video I found:

I would definitely call him a hunter type mover, IMO. He doesn't look overly small nor overly hot. But, just one video of one day without knowing how he was prepped, etc. I have never met him so I don't know for sure! :)

He looks lovely! I agree with everyone that said liver chestnut is their favorite color ever, I love them! I would love to eventually own a liver chestnut some day.....they're striking, I think.
Domiro has lovely movement and seems like he's game/up for anything....I liked his willingness in the 100DT video on YouTube, looks like something I'd enjoy riding!

I find this stallion very interesting as well...
It appears to me that he has not been used much to sire hunters? What are his offspring like? Judging from the video he looks quiet enough, and seems to move and jump decently enough to sire hunter offspring, imho.
I also agree with Signature, that it is hard for "plain" chestnut stallions to make it big, I can't think of any that are super popular... so that might be a factor. Some people, whether they'll admit it or not, do have strong color preferences. ;)

I have known Domiro since he was imported and have always liked him. He has a very nice temperament. When he was showing in dressage a year or so after being imported, I was watching a test he was doing when a two y.o. got loose from a barn and ran down by the side of the show arena. He didn't even look up, remaining completely focused on his rider.
I bred to him twice. One foal out of my Sao Paulo mare, her first, is elite eligible and has been a dream for her amateur owner to start and bring along herself. Another, out of an Oldenburg mare, was premium at his inspection and is also very easy for his owner. Both of these foals are correct, with good legs.
Domiro offspring kick butt every year at the AHS inspection. Out of a variety of mares they are consistent in type, and move very well.
As far as height, I think he is listed at 16.1 and I suspect that is correct. I have been up close and personal with him fitting saddles for him, and that seems accurate.

I worked at the Hunter barn where he lived in 2006 and 2007. He was very easy to handle, quiet, great mover and jumper. You can search and find his show record at either www.usef.org or www.horseshowtime.com. He did the Pre-Greens and First Years before going back to Dressage. He is compact, but tall. Wouldn't surprise me if he is 16.1 or 16.2. Definitely the model winner. Kevin and Erica have some very nice babies by him. He does seem to outproduce himself.
On a side note: If you look up his USEF show record, he actually did not show at the Thermal Desert Circuit in 2007, hence why he didn't place. The barn didn't have enough horses to go. He has won against some VERY nice horses in Southern California!

I have a Domiro mare who I ADORE! She has shown in the AA ring, and is going to do the Children's this year. You can see her on our website: http://elitehuntersales.com/Mares.html
I have video of her as well; doing the Children's Hunters for the first time as a 5 year old with a 13 year old girl on the Ontario A circuit. PM me if you would like the link.
She is a very good mover, good jumper and has a wonderful mind.
