Hello all.
I am in the market for a new jumping saddle. I had a bates all purpose but had to send it back because of a cracked tree, and they sent me a brand new one. But the problem is that i think i may need a jumping saddle instead of all-purpose. So anyways, what is your favorite jumping saddle?
thanks!

My all time fave was my Hermes. It was too narrow for either of my current horses sadly :(.

Liked my Butet but found it didn't fit many horses. Had an antares and hated all the fluff/padding. Couldn't feel anything going on underneath me!

My new saddle is a Tad Coffin A52 and I love it. Doesn't beat my hermes but it's very close!

I really like my Antares monoflap. I feel secure in it and it's quite comfortable. Try using the search feature; there have been many saddle threads recently. :)

County and Pessoa (although I don't like some of the newer ones, especially the new A/O). I also have an Integrity that I love.

Albion Legend 5000 without a doubt. Good from BN sized jumps up to the massive CIC-W*** sized jumps (didn't get to a 4* so never tested it at that level :D)

I have two favorites:

My current saddle is a Courbette Vision (the older model is better i think and that's what i have) which fits my wide WB mare perfectly. It gives me a really secure seat and a good leg

My other saddle was a Prestige Red Fox. I evented in it for YEARS and loved it to death. due to not having a pencil-withered OTTB competing anymore and getting a bigger seat, i got my Courbette Vision

I highly recommend both!!

I Love my Butet! I tried so many saddles, but either they did'nt fit me or my horse. So I bit the bullet and bought the butet. I've had it two yrs. and would buy it again!

I like the Antares Medium Deep saddle.

I love my Luc Childeric. I would definitely recommend looking for something used if possible. I used to ride in a pancake flat Crosby PDN which I also loved but I've got to say that I'm enjoying my cushy saddle, particularly now that I've busted my tail bone sledding.

I love my OLD stubben seigfreid II, it's a close-contact with flat seat, square cantle, no knee pads or rolls, just flat. They don't make that model anymore and the tree is too wide for my TB.

I have ridden in a few saddles, and I fell in love with a Barnsby when I rode in a friend's... had always loved them for dressage but I am seriously considering one for my next saddle. I think it was a Milton? Friend wasn't sure about the style name.

I just bought a lightly used Prestige Jumper R....beautiful saddle, grippy, soft leather and so nice to ride in. It has a more narrow twist which is good for me and has a great balance to it-very secure! Check one out.;)

are you getting the trend here?
There is no trend.
:D
This is a pretty particular topic -- what fits you, what fits your horse. There is no substitute for trying a bunch to see what works for you.
To add another data point for you, I love my County Conquest.

My Wintec Pro Jump is very comfy for both me and the horse.

Breaking in a new Courbette Aristokrat CC - I like it, but my butt hurts when I get out of it! (only been in it an hour or two so far though)

LOVE my Devoucoux "Socoa"

fabulous saddle, about ten years old, i bought it two years ago used for about 2k. calfskin and buffalo. normally sells for about 4500 new! i could barely tell it was used. i was shocked to know it was more than a few years old. it looked like it had barely been sat in. lucky me ! granted, i bought this through a vendor at a horse show, and i did NOT have to deal with the devoucoux company--and im glad, cause ive heard horror stories about them!

Beval Devon 2000. Wide tree that seemed to fit most horses. Spacious flat seat. Perfectly balanced. Found it on e-bay a few years ago, for a great price. Didn't know much about them at the time. Went through a time when I wasn't jumping, so sold it. Big regrets!

I've ridden in many saddles and I can say that I love my Delgrange the best! I bought it used for pretty cheap(because it needed the knee pads repaired) but I absolutely love the saddle. The deep seat and forward flap is great for jumping and the saddle promotes proper position too. Not to mention it is super soft and comfy!

I'm in the same boat. I used to ride in a pancake Crump and noticed my lower back was often sore. The Childeric provides just enough support and my knees seem to like it as well.

I absolutely love my Black Country, although it is not as pretty as the french saddles (I needed the hoop tree for my enormous mare  ) Before that I had a used Devoucoux Socoa that I loved. It fit most horses reasonably well, and was super secure and pretty comfy. Although, like has been stated, I bought it used and didn't have to deal with the company who I have heard can be a nightmare. That being said, sit in as many as you can and see what you like- the variety is limitless.

By far the best is the pj pro by Delgrange. I've ridden in alot of saddles and it surpassed them all. My second choice would be County.

Bates Caprilli jumping saddle!
Seriously, if you liked you a/p, try the close-contact version.

My dressage saddle is made by Lucy Batchelor (master saddle maker GB) and If I ever am able to buy one of her XC or close contact saddles I would. Saddles are wonderful and service is as well.

Although she is British, she and her husband live here 1/2 the time.

i like most french saddles- devoucoux, antares, cwd but of course i love my butet the most, because it is minnnneeee. I think that the quality is all top notch which it should be when paying 4k for a saddle, and ill ride in whatever fits my horse and me the best, which right now is a butet

I love my new Tad. .. but as others have said a saddle is a very personal thing for both horse and rider.. I would rather poke my eye out than saddle shop.
