The BF made me these this week, I have wanted them for awail and when I showed him the photos on the weekend he said "I can make them." I have heard that from my ex so many times, but when I came home yesterday there they sat. I am so lucky to have him.

Nice work!

If he wanted to make some extra $$ these could sell done in custom colors or stains.

Just the plastic mounting blocks are near $100.

What a great job he did! They look great...love the idea of a groom box to hang on the wall. And the storage in the mounting block.

Those are really lovely. The mounting block storage would be great for lunge lines, side reins, all those things you don't need to carry from the barn to the arena. My Dad used to make gorgeous tack trunks complete with top trays and also made hanging bandage racks. Could I get him to make me one, noooo. I get to use the WWII footlocker as a tack trunk. Your SI is a definite keeper.

Those are gorgeous. I'd be afraid to use that mounting block also, afraid I'd get it all dinged up and dirty. What a guy!

Oh those are nice! He is a keeper for sure.

My husband in not handy with woodworking. He made me a dog house once that was sized for a puppy, too bad my dog was a German Shepherd mix. She never really fit in it. LOL He is very good at welding which I have taken full advantage of. He has made me most of my stuff out of horse shoes. Everything from bridle racks and halter holders to door handles and coffee tables. I say keep the handy ones around, you never know what they can make for you. :)

Next you're going to tell us he cooks and is a massage therapist!

Would you consider renting him out? ;)

There's a wardrobe trunk I'd love to have--I think this link should work http://www.mcguinnfarms.com/pages/verticals5.html

If that floats your boat, maybe he could add that to his list.

You lucky duck.:D

He does cook, does laundry, even feeds the horses and dogs with out me asking. Last weekend he got up and went out and fed so that I could sleep in. And he does give a great back rub.:D

Aw heck - they are all lke that in Canada! Just kidding actually. But the first thing my BF did for me was make me a tack trunk when he met me - and we have been married over 30 years now. He still does the night feeding. I try to be appreciative, but sometimes I'm just - er - me.

Eleanor,

What is the width difference between the top and the bottom on the side of the grooming box? I’m having one made and want to make sure the door stays where it’s supposed to while open.

Have fun coming up with more projects for this man of yours!

Just the side wood is 9"top and 12 1/4" bottom , over all hight is 2'.

Creaghgal, he made mine just a little different then the ones that you can buy off the net. I asked for a few different things and he made it out if 3/4" not 1/2" so it is a little bigger.

Just when I think most guys are so self-centered and think women are here to please them... someone like this comes along. It's refreshing.

He is 6'4, and all muscles because of his job, with a great voice and very good with his hands. ;-)

The one thing that is wrong with him is.. HE IS A NICE GUY.. For once I dated the nice guy and got a great guy. So that nice guy that you know and only what to be friends with give him a chance and you just might get one like mine and if you are very lucky he might be good at making things.

I'd like to make the suggestion that your BF writes out the dimensions, materials required and directions, and sell it on E-Bay as a download.

Of course, you need to send me the info first so I can test it out for you!
