Those of you who own horses and have them as well as yourself in a program...

What do you pay for yours and your horses training?
What does it include? (How many lessons and or training rides).

Curious to compair, thanks for the help!

Tri State is NJ, NY and CT I thought?

Anywho, I'm looking at paying 600 for board.
Training is $120 a week for 2 hour lessons.

This is in NY.

Tristate are any three states that are together ;) so not a good term to use in a situation like this-- a international board ;).

Yea but even the news says Tri-State area. Most people seem to understand that Tri-State is NJ, NY, and PA

Unless you live in the Cincinnati Tri State metropolitan area which everybody knows as the Tri State.

That would skew your estimates as we pay about 70% of what that other tri state has to.
There is also some airport down in Dixie called Tri State Regional or some such. bet they pay even less.

back to your topic...

I live in an area where PA, WV, and OH are all within 30 minutes of each other. It is referred to as the "Tri-State" area around here... even on the news. Also up north where it is NY, OH, and PA it is referred to as the same.

To me- Tri-State Area is NY, NJ, and CT- not PA. And in NY, I've paid just under $2000 basic board (grooming, lessons and training a la carte $10-$45 each) and $2400 all inclusive (unlimited lessons/rides/grooming).

And this is at a barn that takes TOP notch care.

Around here tri-state area means Connecticut/Rhode Island/Massachusetts.

If CaliforniaSyndrome means New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania why doesn't she just say it? Or maybe the term she really needs is mid-atlantic.

Seems silly to be asking to compare prices in such a huge area. I don't have to be from there to know that prices in New York city are going to be very different than prices in podunk small town Pennsylvania.

my lessons are currently 45, but I have payed 100 for a lesson.
Every training ride has been 50 (from 3 different trainers) so I think that is the norm.
Board is 675, but I've paid up to 1600.

And no, she is correct (as a Rhode Island/massachusetts person as well as a NYC/Long Island person) the tri-state area is NY/CT/NJ.
