I'm in the process of saddle shopping, and I plan to get one used. So I just wanted to see which websites people have used before and had success with. Good prices and a large inventory are a plus (obviously, haha). I've been able to find a few random threads with this information scattered throughout, but I couldn't find a thread with a lot of suggestions in one place.
Some I've already perused:
ebay
Rick's
usedsaddles.com
Thanks all = )

It's not saddle specific, but have you looked on the Bits and Barter BB?

Hmm, hadn't looked there, but that is definitely a great resource. I just looked at it, and apparently the saddle of my dreams just sold for dirt cheap = ( Had I only looked sooner... Haha. I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled there. Seems like everyone is selling extra tack these days.

This woman only has a handful of saddles but I just bought one from her and it was beautiful, exactly as she had described. I would buy from her again in a heartbeat.

Another vote for Carol at Goodsaddles.com from me. If she hasn't got what you are looking for right now, it's worth talking to her to see if she can track it down.
She's also excellent to sell through, too.

My favorite: http://www.stcroixsaddlery.com/
They usually have an extensive selection of used saddles on consignment and are very good about trial periods, etc. I have purchased from them more than once.

I have a couple saddles that I am trying to sell and they are both listed on a number of the websites listed. I have gotten quite a bit of legitimate interest, but am averaging one scam email response about every two days, all originating from tacktrader.com. I don't know if I would use it again.

If you have a preference in brand, you can always contact the maker / rep in your area as well. I just got Custom Saddlery to find me used Victory -- since I'm borrowing one right now and it's the first and only saddle my horse has ever loved -- and will hopefully get to try it out over the weekend.

I have purchased used saddles from Bucks Saddlery www.bcsaddlery.com and also Rick's Heritage. Both have generous try out policies and are reputable. I would definetly deal with them again.
