Does anyone know if it is online anywhere or on tv? Thanks for the help. It is tonight, 3/7 at 6 pm, with about 58 entries.

What a great opportunity MISSED by bad management. If you wanted to stand around the ring for 60 plus trips it might have been fun....couldn't see a thing except peoples behinds. Finally get a huge class of classic hunters and drive away the spectators by having NO seating, bad announcing, NO scores posted (no scoreboard) ...I lost interest and left. What a shame.

That's really a shame! I can't imagine it being so mismanaged! My daughter hasn't called, but was really looking forward to watching the class.

it was not too bad. i have never seen a hunter derby, i thought it was cool. the only thing i thought was wierd was.,i thought hunter derby's had a irish bank, a ditch ect... to look and feel like a hunt field? i am an eventer and nothing but one jump looked anything natural. they were saying the scores over the loud speaker, but it was really hard to hear. lots of people left, looked like one set of bleachers and of course the sponsors tent. but the rest of us stood for over 4 hrs. to watch.

Here's a good article about it:

And holy guacamole, look at Rock Star's jump! What a beautiful picture! Wish there was video footage of the derby around somewhere...

Ha. duh. Well, I guess it still takes *some* intelligence to use Google... Anyway, the 2009 results are on the Hits site, no articles, pictures or videos yet, though.

A BIG congratulations to my friend Page, whose horse Olivier came in second. Page is a great horsewoman who also bred Olivier.

IMO Jen's second round score was crazy high. In fact, all the scores were a little all over the place. They hit some people hard for certain things and then didn't get the BNR's for even worse things (Jen totally missed jumped a 4' oxer off of 3 legs on Rock Star and still got a 65...). It was definitely a fun class to watch, especially compared to the other derbies I've seen, but it still left something to be desired for.

Hasbrouck really rode great! As did the other juniors. They went for it in the handy round with some crazy tight turns. You could also jump the "penalty box" (for those familar with the main ring in Ocala) instead of going around it, so that was cool too.
