Nothing but good things to say about Chad and the horses he represents.

Chad's great. He's got a lot of nice horses right now. I've known him for many years, always great to deal with.

One of those nice horses is mine. :) He got dropped off last Sunday. I've never worked with Chad before and I was wondering how people felt about him.

He sold a horse for an acquaintance of mine and she was very happy with the entire process.

I've personally had nothing but positive experiences in my dealings with him.

We have known Chad for several years now and have been in many transactions with him, both buying and selling. We have found him to be completely trustworthy in the business aspect as well as a wonderful friend. He seems to be incredibly popular and after dealing with him you'll understand why. :)

I've dealt with Chad before and sent a friend of mine to go see some horses he had while she was horse shopping. He was excellent to deal with and she wound up buying one of the horses he had on consignment and has been VERY pleased with him.

Nothing but good things to say from me also. Great communication, honest, and I haven't seen a horse from his barn yet that I have not liked!

I ride with Chad and I think that he does a quality job. Even before I started training with him. I would've highly recommend him to anyone for training & sales because I liked the way he worked & the results (both horse & rider had from working with him).

Chad is fabulous. :D

*Update 9/10: I still ride with Chad & have some investment horses & ponies with him. Chad has a great eye for finding what you need & want. He is also wonderful to work with, even after sale transcation. (I.e.training and/or showing the horse for you).

He is a great rider, a great businessman, and a loyal friend. You won't be disappointed in his professionalism or level of care.

He used to catch ride some of my A/A horses for me when we were both in college (he was still an amateur then) and he's great!

There you go, not following directions--I believe the OP asked that negative comments be sent via Private Message. Lets help people out when they're trying to keep these boards friendly..

My personal experience with Chad has been overwhelmingly positive. I bought a fancy pre-green horse from him and it was everything he represented it to be and he was very accomodating to me--keeping the horse in his barn and exercising it while I finished up showing in FL.

He also has one of my horses to sell and she's fatter and slicker than when I sent her to him, which made me feel embarrassed a bit, as I pride myself on my fat horses.

I've also seen him be incredibly honest. I sent him potential customers for my horse and he was honest in pointing out that he thought it wouldn't be a good fit and I have heard him say "no bad sale is worth the money"--he knows that reputation for fairly representing horses is as important as his eye for finding nice ones. I've also tried horses at his farm several times before I bought one from him and he's been honest about any horse's "holes" when I asked--he knows what I like and won't waste my time trying the wrong horses.

He's exceptionally nice and giving of his time and efforts--while I won't say that I've never heard him yell, if you're going to fault a trainer for yelling at students, you're going to fault a majority of the trainers, including some of the icons of our sport.

What I also like about Chad is that he treats the people who come with 20k to spend the same as those who have bought multiple 6 figure horses from him. He's a good person and has a well-earned, overhwhelmingly positive reputation. He also is a "go to" person for a lot of people, so if you want to find a nice horse or sell a nice horse, he has the volume of traffic that most horse trainers dream of. Everyone sells a horse from time-to-time that doesn't work out as well in the next home, and sometimes they work out much better--it's just luck, good or bad.

I've always heard very positive things about him, though have never dealt with him directly! He certainly has some nice horses--I wouldn't kick any of them out of my barn!

Why do people start threads like this? I understand wanting to get feedback from people but really, there is always going to be someone to rip someone apart. Not everyone has A+ experiences with people. If you're curious about someone, go see them, and trust your basic instinct about them. Ask around your local network of horse friends and get a general idea if you're not the intuitive kind. I know plenty of people in my area who know Chad and I could ask them all their opinions of him but I would truly rather form my own opinion of him, no?
These kinds of things go downhill pretty fast, especially on the internet and no one deserves to have their reputation spread out like butter on a piece of toast like that. Especially since the OP seems to already have their horse in his care, I would think you would have done your homework before putting your horse in his barn. Obviously you think enough of him already, why ask here?

It's even better than that, jse. The OP had her horse with him more than a year ago. I'd lay money that her horse has long since sold. Showhtr dug this thing up in order to be nasty. Klassy.

Holy smokes! I didn't notice that! Wow....why? Why do people do this stuff? I understand if you have bad experiences with people, I've had quite a few of my own but I think the least professional thing to do is to come on the internet and blab about how bad they are. I think it shines a bit on the crabby person and not having anything better to do!

I would NEVER send a horse to him to to be sold or trained.

I'm sure that would come as a relief to him. No professional wants to be associated with someone who trashes another professional online and identifies their own trainer in their one other post on the same board.

I met chad for the first time recently, and while only a brief encounter, he struck me as being incredibly honest and forthcoming about his horses. I got a really good feeling about him.

Good Things to say about Chad ...
He is hard working. and he represents his horses to the best of his ability . I have known Chad. Seen Chad at shows . and conversed with Chad on many different levels. Look at his track record. Review his sales record . And most of all look at the return customers he has. ;)
That alone will tell you how and what Chad Keenum is all about . Just a good guy trying to make a living . What is wrong with that .
Best of luck at Capital Challenge and continued success.
Way To Go Chad !!!!!!!!!!!:D
