I bought one of those 5 way breast collars but apparently my horse has grown to WB size.
I'm not sending it back to Europe, so I guess I'll give it to Audrey to sell.
I didn't really like it anyway. There was a lot of parts going everywhere. lol.
But what I REALLY want is another plain breast collar.
Not a breast plate, not a breast girth, but a collar.
I can't find one and have been searching for well over a year.
Wants:
black
NO ELASTIC
nickle fittings
Here is the one that I have now:

It's brown with white padding. Totally janky espcially with my black tack.
If I can at least locate what I want, Audrey from Legacytack and order it.
At this point price is not as much of a concern as just finding what I want. Sheesh.
Anyone have any sneak attack tid bits for me to check out?

Call Bartville Harness Shop in Pennsylvania. They're Amish, so you'll have to call between 8:00 and 8:15 a.m. Nope, I'm not kidding. But I'm sure they can make you one; they do all sorts of custom work. They are the contract suppliers for much of Nunn Finer's strap goods, so the workmanship quality is excellent (and the prices are pretty great too!).

Yup...that was who I was going to suggest. They have the one like this from BOB like this
http://www.bitofbritain.com/Nunn_Finer_Jumper_Breastplate_p/0059.htm but you can ask them to make it without the elastic and in black. You might want to give them the exact measurement that you want....and make sure you order the piece that goes over their neck in black too. I know that I've seen it before (not in black though). I might have even seen one like that at BOB in the store....
if you get desperate....you might be able to talk me into going to the shop for you...but I bet you can do it over the phone.

Maybe you're using the wrong terminology when you search? To my understanding that style of breastplate is referred to as a polo breastplate. Traditionally they are not elasticized.
Is this what you're talking about?

There are websites that do custom colours and padding. You can even mix 'n match.

The Bartville Harness shop is AWESOME. My brides and breast plate are from them. They are REALLY well made, look fantastic, and are reasonably priced.

Another vote for Bartville. I got a custom bridle from them for only a little over $100. I actually got two bridles - one black one for dressage that was off the rack. The quality is equal to a bridle you would see in other tack stores for over $400, and I paid under $100 for that one.
The bridle I got is my cross country bridle. I wanted a medium brown, but the only reins they had in that color had bright orange rubber and I wanted medium brown rubber. I also wanted the buckles for the bit to be the same on the bridle and reins. It took about two weeks, and I got a bridle of the same quality as the other one.
The only caveats are that, like the above posted, they are Amish and have limited calling times. They send you a letter when your piece is ready, so don't look for a phone call. They also do not accept credit cards. There is no electricity in the store, nor phone lines, since it is against their religion. That's part of the reason for the restricted phone times - they actually go to phones off their property (one Amish farm had a phone on a phone pole at the end of their driveway, not sure where Bartville's is).
Of course, I am not sure how far away from Bartville you are - but I am sure someone here would be happy to help you out if you live far away.

You probably could have googled the phone number in the time it took you to write that post. ;)
