I am an older beginner rider looking for an older, calm, ridable horse in the Ventura/LA county, California Area. I am heavy, so the horse would need to be able to carry some weight. I miss having a horse but had to sell mine a few years ago when I had heart surgery. Now I am fit and want to share my time and affection. I see so many horses here, but the cost of transport would be much too much. I'm looking for a horse to love.

I know of an older horse that needs a home, but his work load would be limited to walk/trot. He is very calm and a nice guy. Email me at Amymcree@aol.com

Greenbroke mare, sweet and sound. Used for breeding but no longer breeding sound. She is just hanging out and needs her own person.
Email me directly for information.

Please consider checking the horse rescues in your area. :) Many of them are overflowing with horses that would likely be very, very suitable for you. You can find rescue groups on petfinder.org (or .com, can never remember which and it might be both) or through a Google search.
You can also find an ever-increasing number of free or nearly free horses on craigslist, as well as on the standard "horse for sale" sites -- dreamhorse.com, horsetrader.com.
In this economy, there are LOTS of horses looking for new homes. Thank you for offering one!!
