Masterson is a public city park. It is always open (no dates) and is free (no fees). All we ask (we being those of us who use it on a regular basis) is that you mind the footing and don't jump when it is muddy. Enjoy :)

Masterson is a public park, always open. There is an arena and jumps, and lots of little xc stuff, with a full N/T/P course. The water jump doesn't usually have water in it, but there is a creek that often has water in the rainy season (now). Most people try to respect the land, don't tear up the ground when it's really muddy.
The Masterson park foundation is trying to do some more organized schoolings, to fill the water jumps and set out some portables.
There are also schooling days at the Ky Horse Park, usually right after a horse trial. Usually $35.

PWP will have schooling after the event on the 29th. I gave you MTPC's website, they have a pretty comprehensive calendar of the stuff coming up. Also Beech Grove has a XC course.

Yea, I am going to the show on the 28th. Would they let me stay an extra day to school? If not, we will be going to Masterson before Spring Bay.

Just so you all know MASTERSON STATION is CLOSED for schooling until after the event (Spring Bay). The organizers do not want you on course and if you are caught you will be eliminated from the show. If you are not in the show and get caught, expect to get a talking to!! They are preparing the courses for the show and don't want anyone on them until after April 6th.
You can school Flying Cross over in Louisville. If anyone needs the contact info. on that please feel free to PM me.
Thanks!

Did you get the updated show bill that the CT is the 28th and the 3-phase the 29th?
I think there is limited stableing avaliable, so yes, you could stay, or haul back.

Do you know if the sand ring at Masterson is closed? A student of mine has a horse to show to some potential buyers on Sat and Sunday and our footing here is trashed. She was going to haul over to use the outdoor ring

No Problem on the arenas. They are always open and available for use unless rented for a show/pony club/or other activity. I don't believe anything is going on there this weekend so you should be fine!!

Thanks! Just curious why the course is already closed? In area III most of the courses are closed 2 weeks out. Just wondering. I know that footing has been taking a beating lately

Technically by USEA rules, the cross-country courses are suppose to be closed to outside schooling 6 weeks away from an event. I assume the organizers of the show are following that rule. This has been a long standing rule. With all the different rule changes going on perhaps this has been changed?? I don't know personally that it has, so I believe that they are just trying to follow the rules.
Thanks!
