A friend in the neighborhood sent out this email plea this morning:

This is "Buddy"! I opened my door last night to find him sitting at the foot of my steps freezing cold and shaking. I know he needs a home because I actually saw a person connected to him after about half an hour looking for his owner. They said there is no room for him in their house and they just kicked him out!?!?! I am really not sure what is going on in society that someone thinks that is ok and can't at least take him to a shelter, but that's another story. Anyway, Buddy is very handsome as you can tell from his picture. I have given him a bath also. He had a flea collar on as well as another collar and looks to be in good health. No fleas. He is well behaved, but has energy since he looks to be a year or so old. He needs his nails clipped and also to be neutered. He likes to try and hump, but you just need to tell him to get down. He slept with me in my office last night and didn't make a peep. I would keep him, but Emily and I have 4 cats that we have taken in along the way. They all get along ok, but it would just be to much. Please spread the word that "Buddy" needs to find a great home with someone who will walk him and play with him. Let me know ASAP if you are interested as I am probably going to take him to BARCS so he can at least get some minor stuff done like his nails. "Buddy" and I thank you!!!

If you or anyone you know is interested, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the guy who currently has him. He sounds like a really nice dog! :)

Bumping. These dogs are so appreciative of a good home.

I think the mass email (and, of course, that adorable face!) did the trick... this lucky doggie has a whole list of people interested in giving him a home!

oh gosh I'm glad it looks like he has a home. When I saw his pic last night tears just sprang to my eyes, and my hubby gave me "the look", the one that means Don't. EVEN. Think. About. It.
