I am TOTALLY depressed. I look over my fields and the grass is starting to green up over the past week.

Now it is back to weight watch, neckometer alert and all the things that go with it.

I never thought that the approaching spring would leave me feeling this way!

I'm right there with ya. Thursday I will be closing off the back 1/2 of the rear pasture for the next 9 months. Tank will be the lone occupant of the front 1/2 where nothing but dirt exists....because I know Green Means Sugar. :(

I'm going to ask the Farm Manager if I can have one of the baby goats after it's weaned to be Tank's pasture mate. Wee Goat will eat the weeds that crop up and give Tank something to loff.

Consider letting someone run sheep on your pastures with your horses. Seriously, they are nothing more than giant woolly slugs and the grass will be an even 1/8" inch long in no time.

No fear JD, polo has never left the pines.

It is Hugo and Milo that are next on the worry list.

Hugo still does not have his bikini body back!

I WISH I had this problem! If you'd like to trade farms just let me know. We have several acres of dirt lots where we're hoping to beg the grass to go!

Jesus. I wish I had that problem.

I'll double that and raise you one.

Leah, just send your crew up to the NE for a couple of months till our grass starts turning. With a bit of luck you will be back to parched and we can send your crew back home.

All joking aside, good luck with keeping the boys OK with spring grass coming up.

Grazing muzzle?

I'm so ready for Spring though. I am sick of the cold. It was low 20's here this a.m. and the wind never stops.

Boy, glass half empty for you? I'm over the moon when the weather finally starts to turn FOR REAL and the grass greens up. We had a teaser week with temps in the 60s and the crocuses popping up . . . followed by another foot of snow and single-digit temps. :sigh:

Break out the pony's muzzle, we are ALL ready!

LOLOLOLOL.

I LOVE spring but managing Founder Farms is so challenging.

I actually missed the boat-all horses have fat showing up. I have been out of the saddle for a week and that is all it took.

I need some exercisers for these fatties-I have the land! I just don't have the energy to do them all!

I should start a fat farm for horses and riders-come grab a horse and walk my hills and trails...lose weight for 2

if i had my own land, it'd all be dry lots. maybe one little scrap of grass for the rare occasions when miss mare gets to graze. fill them with pea gravel and turn them out:D
