Brief Version:
Need a lightweight waterproof turnout suitable for warmer temperatures (e.g. 60's).

Long Version:
I had the recent post on the thin skinned OTTB and got some great ideas. One of the ideas was to keep her blanketed to reduce mud patches. She has been wearing a Weatherbeeta "Landa standard original lite" which is waterproof and fits her well. The problem is our forecast now (California) is for lows in the mid 40's to low 50's at night and daytime highs of mid 60's and RAIN!!! She starts sweating if it gets above 60 in this sheet. Is there anything out there that would be very lightweight and waterproof that she could wear when it is in the 60's? Otherwise I feel that I have to pull her blanket and deal with the mud. There is no option to keep her inside but she does have a large pen with a covered shelter. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!

My amigo turn-out sheet is just a thin sheet without any fill. I love it!!! And it was fairly inexpensive too. I think that may work for you. I had to go out and buy a 100 g fill sheet cause I felt it wasn't enough for some of the cooler days but not quite cold enough for his blanket. It's a great sheet and has held up well. BUT.... it doesn't have leg straps, so once he came out of it while rolling. Otherwise, it stays put really well.

Also... it may be too hot for sunny warm days, but maybe on those hot days you could try a fly sheet??!?

I like my amigo sheet alot :)

I have a Bucas sunshower and it is AWESOME. Waterproof, reflective, and very very lightweight. Plus I love the shoulder darting in their blankets.

How does yours fit vs standard blanket? My girl is a 78 they say these fit differently. Yes they do tell you how to measure your horse but right now I'm in my living room and horse lives 10 miles away.... will do later.

That's the one :)
I didn't realize it fit differently... Fleck wears an 81/82 in most blankets and sheets and I bought him an 81 and it fits him perfectly :)

And it came in navy with white trim which is his colors so... :)

I love the Amigo, but make sure you get the 1200 denier instead of the 600D shown in the link. The 1200D is the navy with white trim. It is more expensive, but the 600D will tear in a heartbeat. It isn't even worth wasting your money!

My vote goes solidly to the Schneider's turnout sheets. No fill, just a waterproof outer and a light nylon breathable liner on the inside.

The cheapest 1200 denier one sells for $50, but personally I have been thrilled with (and have gotten three seasons out of) the $70 Schneider's Classic Euro sheet. If you enter the coupon code K in checkout, you get $10 off $50. They run true to size.

Two thumbs (and 20 hooves) up on the classic Euro's as well!

Breathes really well.
2 of my horses never sweat under it. The third is a total furnace and has a thick coat and if he walks around in it a lot at 60 degrees he may get a little damp. But like I said he is always hot.

"Schneider's" could refer to any of the 12+ blanket models they have, just like "Rambo" could refer to about 8 different blankets. You linked to the Classic Euro, and yes, that's the one I own. In blaze orange.

The best rain sheet I have ever used is the club dry brand, they go half way up the neck and are fantastic!
