I went with a friend who pulls for rescues to a shelter in NC that was going to euthanize all 40 dogs in the shelter, a good many of them puppies. We came back with 2 dogs and 4 puppies. Luckily a lot of people from different shelters showed up and almost all of the dogs were rescued. I am fostering the puppies for her as the rescue she was pulling for ended up not not being able to take them. I have found homes for two of them but have two left.

According to their paperwork from the shelter:

Hunter is a beagle/basset cross and Trevor is a boxer/hound cross (I'm thinking there may be some staffordshire terrier in their also but I'm not a breed expert). They are both around two months old and it looks like the have had their first worming and puppy distemper shots.

I would really love to find good homes for them. Trevor is extremely sweet and loves his person and wants to be a lap dog. Hunter is a little more alpha but loves to be snuggled also. They need lots of exercise and seem to get along fine with other dogs.

If interested, please email me (clwp@cox.net) or pm me your email address and I can send you pictures. I am located in Northern Virginia.

What shelter is it? There are lots of N. Carolinians on the board!

Puppies..... Just a comment - the one almost certainly is a pit mix, and the other looks a bit big, especially for that age, for a beagle/basset. He reminds me of a St. Bernard in the face. I hope they both get good homes.

Yes, unfortunately I figure he does have pit in him, but the shelter has on his paper boxer hound mix.

The beagel/basset weighed 8 lbs at the vet. That pictures was taken with a phone camera and is a little distorted. He is not very big LOL.

Oh my god they are adorable! I'm glad I live in Indiana because my husband would absolutely shoot me if he came home and we had a 4th dog!!

I to would be happy o take Hunter, but unfortunately I'm in BC Canada... Couldn't be further away... If there was a way to get him here, I would be happy to give him a wonderful home. I would be interested in Trevor if Hunter has found a home, but am concerned he may be too big...

I am in Clifton, VA which is about 30 miles west of Washington, DC. Trevor is my favorite. He has the cutest personality and is very loving. He wants to be a lap dog.

I think Trevor has a new home. Hunter is still looking for someone to be his person.

That is good news....with as cute of a mug that Hunter has, you shouldn't have any trouble. My housemate put a thumbs down on the puppy....at least until it gets warmer out. Thanks for giving these too cuties a shot at a good life! I rescued my current rottie....they were going to put her down at 9 weeks because they decided they wanted a Shitzu instead of a Rottie.....some people shouldn't even be allowed to have dogs!
