I rescued a gray TB mare tuesday -I was at a gas station and saw a cute gray mare standing quietly in a trailer & said to the owner what a sweet mare & the person was taking her to be put down because they couldnt afford her or want her anymore!!!

I told them I would take her & find her a home & they were like yeah, saves us the money to have her put down, Yet, They had to pay them 150 to take her to my house (mind you about a mile mile down the road).

She is about 16.1 1993 VERY sweet quiet gray, has 4 TB foals 3 are winners. She has 1 eye, but is not flaky or anything, ill bet it happened a long time ago..

I WILL NOT post photos, she is in VERY poor condition. but i will email them privately.
She does need her teeth done & feet done..
I already gave her shots & wormed her.
She is breeding sound only. not for riding, has a lumpy knee..

Needs to go fast, I had no plans on another horse & I do not have the room for her, but i just could not believe what her plans were for that afternoon.

Lisa,

only you could find a horse at a gas station!:cool::lol::cool:
Maybe she would be suitable for warmblood approval?

As fas as to pass WB inspection, I cant tell at the moment.. she is really thin, so like her back looks long cause there is no flesh on it. she is a nice mover.

Wonderful of you to save her life. I hope you find her a good home.
Would be nice if she could be a riding horse and not have to produce more horses in these times.

Postal workers at the little P.O. in the town where I board see horses for free all the time and they try to give them away to us when we mail packages there. So you can get a horse at the post office and now at the gas stations. Sad for the horses.:(

Wow... what a wonderful story and hope someone will take the mare soon. Looks like someone had a different fate in mind that mare and put the right person in the right place at the right time for her! You are awesome. 4 foals and 3 winners! I can't believe the owners would treat her like that!
