I have a 10-year-old, 16.3-hand dark bay TB gelding. I would love to find someone to take him on a long-term free lease or giveaway to the right situation. (I just don't want him to end up on a slaughter truck is all...) He's a sweet guy, and he's my first horse, but he's not doing anything here except eating hay. Wherever he goes, I will always be willing to take him back if it doesn't work out for any reason. He has a forever home with me if he needs it. His name is George.

The catch is that he's not exactly sound. We've never been able to pin down the problem, but it's a hind end, stifle-type thing. I've had several vets look at him and I've spent thousands trying to figure it out, but no luck. He is perfectly pasture sound and stable (that is, not getting worse). I believe it may be an old injury or something to do with his conformation.

He is rideable at a walk and trot on the trails. He does not like ring work... I think it makes him sore. (He doesn't misbehave in the ring, he just doesn't go well and you can tell he's not happy.) He is quiet and well behaved. (I wouldn't recommend him for a beginner rider, however. He has his moments.) In the past he has done a little dressage and a little hunters. He spent one summer as a babysitter for yearlings, and he loved that. He can also do "pony rides" on a lead line, and he adores small children. I think he would be awesome at equine-assisted psychotherapy but I'm not sure how to find a place.
