I am riding in an 18 inch County Extreme and a Dover house brand all purpose.

They are each barely fitting on my Fleeceworks all purpose pad and my Horse Dream all purpose (aka Christ) pads.

I am wondering if anyone knows of a good quality GENEROUSLY sized pad for larger saddles?

Thanks all!

I have an 18.5" Stubben and couldn't find a fitted sheepskin pad to fit both the large forward flap and the length from gullet to cantle.

I finally compromised and got a Fleeceworks FXK half pad in large (fits 18-19") and put a Stubben shaped cloth pad over it. (It's the Stubben for S-VSS saddles, 6162).

Okay, I forgot the other requirement, I am looking for a sheepskin pad.

I also ride in a County Extreme and had the same issue. I have Toklat pads. They have pads especially for the very forward cut xc saddles. I think they have a sheepskin version.

I wish I could just go with my sheepskin half pad -- that's what I use when I'm not hunting.

Try a Griffin Nuumed wool fleece pad if you can find one. Their XL pads are generously sized and hold up well.

I really like LeMieux ones. They are a decent size and have straps to keep in position.

I have a large fleeceworks AP pad, that has fit very generously every saddle I have used it on.

If you would like to give it a try, I would be glad to ship it to you (assuming you would send it back, LOL).

The Mattes pads can be ordered up to an XL, and the Toklat ones from Sportack (http://www.sportack.com/cms/index.cfm/path/94789/96913/96322/96336/96936/) are great and leave plenty of room. (I ride an 18" Stübben Scout with has the extended panels.)

I second that! You can buy direct from the manufacturer, actually. They're great people to deal with, also, and will custom-make fitted wool pads (aka numnahs in the UK) to fit your saddle.

(be warned - there's a line of pretty-looking wool pads/numnahs available on Ebay from a seller in BC, but they're made in China apparently, and don't last)

I have the fleeceworks fieldhunter and it is not really long enough front to back for my 17 1/2" Barnsby A/P. That's what I use most of the time though.

I have a synthetic fleece pad that is large enough. It's a Toklat medallian Cross Country. http://www.hought.com/end.toklat.eng%20sizing.2.html It's the only one long enough front to back for my saddle.

the toklat coolback pads come in a cross country version that works great with my county extreme with a longer flap. order one seat size up.

Ah yes -- you can get oversized in the Toklats... Sportack.com has their woolbacks as the special of the month for Feb.
