I just ordered mine Saturday! It is very low profile, and if you don't have the $500+ for the GPA speed air, I think it's a decent enough substitute. I'm excited to wear it in the summer here (FL), as the ventilation looks excellent.

I ordered one too.
I don't like the speed air on me.
Did you get the nylon harness??
I tried the extreme with the other harness and i could not put my hair in.

One of my kids has one, and it looks great on her. At first she felt self conscious wearing it because she's the only one with it, but now she likes it!

I have this helmet! :) Wore it for the first time during a lesson on Sunday. Super comfortable, lightweight, and doesn't look like a giant mushroom on my head the way my old helmet did.

Other harness?? Where did I miss that? :(

Added: ok, just checked the IRH site. I definately like the one with the leather harness, NOT the nylon! Hopefully the tack shop I ordered it from hasn't ordered it yet, I will have to call tomorrow! Thanks for letting me know!!

I love mine. Have had it about 6 months or so. Light weight, comfy, and my head keeps considerably cooler than it did in my old IRH helmet. Have recommended it to friends. Fits me great.

For those of you who have one and ride in it in the winter: is it cold? Does the cold air come through the vents and make your head cold? That would make me hesitate on one of the more ventilated helmets.

How do they fit? Oval/round? Are they more similar to the GPA's or the CO's?

I wear both this helmet and the CO JR3 - they fit quite similar to me except that the IRH has more "hair room." Haven't tried the GPA except in a store (and that can be deceptive). My head doesn't get cold in this (keep in mind I live in FL) but it IS cooler in the summer. I like this one for schooling and the JR3 for showing, as the JR3 is a bit warmer. It actually belongs to my trainer, but since we have the same head size I often borrow it because I like it so much. It has the nylon harness but I'd prefer a leather one.

I LOVE the JR8 by the way - I'm happy my head is small enough to fit in it.

The vents don't seem to make my head cold. In fact when it is cold out, I often put my helmet on as soon as I get to the barn to keep my head warm. I do live in Northern California so no snow or real cold weather but often it is in the mid 30s when I get to the barn and I put my helmet on my head right away and my head stays warm.

What I found out was.
The elite extreme is the leather harness
The elite is the nylon.
I am hoping I can figure a way to dress the harness better!!!
Does anyone show in these?????

I guess I should have clarified that I'm in New England and it can easily be 20 degrees when I ride.

The farm house had JUSt gotten these in when I was up there on Monday to get feed.. they look alot like the GPA speed air.. and the venting for summer riding is going to be sooo comfortable!! they looked really cool and jumpery.. =D

I got the Elite so that I could pull my ponytail through the back. If I was going to ALWAYS wear my hair up into the helmet I'd have gotten the Extreme.

Love mine! My head never gets cold either.

Waited 3 months for my grey one from Dover. COMPLETELY worth the wait. I adore it.

But I could not fit my hair in the leather harness.

Is it more, less or equally oval as the GR8? I see it comes in a Long Oval.

It is comfortable.
I bought a 7 in my gr8 but the elite I got a 6 7/8.

GRRRRRRR. Why can't someone make a cheaper ROUND helmet? Everything I try on is so oval

Something about the leather harness made it fit like a GPA .
the nylon did not fit that way ---- go figure
