I'm dying to body clip my mini, but I can't do that until I get the proper clothing for the little bugger being that I live in New York. I ordered what looked to be a VERY nice turnout with a hood from HOOVESNPAWS tack, but they screwed me. Took my money through paypal and 2 months later, still no blanket, no call back, etc.
Anyway, I ordered a nice turnout blanket from another company and LOVE it but it doesn't come down long enough to cover his little belly. Every other company I know (weatherbeeta, etc.) their smallest size is a 48" which is too big and he swims in it.
So, please help me find a nice waterproof, turnout blanket for my little mini...

Just For Ponies is your friend:

They are excellent, and they really know their blankets well - which ones will fit what kinds of ponies, which ones need to be ordered down a size, which ones are adjustable. You can email them a picture of a hard to fit pony, and they will help you pick something that will work.

Just for Ponies is a great help.
You could also check on ebay. I bought a couple tiny sizes like you speak of for my small pony foals... I think I did get a 46 --do a search and look thru a lot of blankets..but I bet you can find one.

Schneiders also has some mini blankets - www.sstack.com

I have not had good luck w/ the fit of Schneiders mini blankets/sheets for my mini's. The Kennsington blanket fits well, has multiple adjustments and withstands the torture the mini's impose on the blanket. Ditto Kennsingtons fly mask for mini's- don't waste your $$$ on substitutes.

Yup, I have purchased a harness and mini clothing from them. Super nice people with fast service though w/ the recent ice storm they may be backlogged right now. Again, the 'heads up' is stick w/ the name brand stuff. I bought the Kennisigton blanket you linked to from them.

I happened to see some Mini turnouts in my paper State Line Tack catalog.
They have free shipping right now too, for orders over $49.
You might want to check it out to see.

MSP- I already own that blanket and it isn't worth a dime! It got shredded in less than 2 weeks. My boys aren't rough at all either... :sigh: The outer shell is paper thin.

That is good to know! I found another for myself at 51" http://www.horse.com/WeatherBeeta-Pony-Turnout-Blanket-BEA01.html
DD asked for pink! I didn't think I would find it and at a good price.
They did have the Kensington mini if you can figure out the size on them. Good price!

I have several of the polar shields for my minis and it totally depends on the denier of the outside material you want the heavier material 600d or more. I have 2 stallions and a gelding the play hard and bite etc and with the heaver 600d material they haven't ripped it, ours came from www.miniexpress.com the waterproof turnout. I have one from Double Diamond as well that has held up well. I also have a 48" weatherbeeta that I totally love and wish they would make in smaller sizes. We also have a kensington stable blanket its nice but stiff and not a turnout that fabric is picked a bit and it hasn't been used much. you might also want to check out www.usedhorseblankets.com, they have some smaller ones on their sometimes as well.
