View Full Version : 2009 Mare-sharing--free broodmare leases!

New thread for mare-sharing! Same concept as before, but we wanted to give a clean slate for the new year with listings that are more current.
Here's the previous thread, for reference, and to bridge the gap into this one:
http://www.chronicleforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=143390
You're welcome to copy a post/relist a mare or a request from the previous thread and add it to this one.
Here's the skinny on the concept, for those not familiar:
We wanted to offer a place separate from the Giveaways forum where breeders offering or looking for FREE broodmare lease opportunities could get in touch with each other. So here it is!
Mare owners looking to rehome their girls are still welcome to post in Giveaways, but we thought keeping most of broodmare lease-specific posts confined to one thread here would be more convenient and organized and allow Giveaways to stay a bit better focused on true rehoming situations.
A few guidelines:
Leases must be FREE, except for taking over the horse's expenses.
To make the posts more clear, start off with a Bold Title that makes some of the basic info clear, such as whether it's a WANTED or AVAILABLE situation, some basics on the mare and your LOCATION.
Thanks!

Indy is available for lease and very liberal as to conditions - Personally I think she would be awesome as a test mare for a stallion owner with a unproven stud.
14.1/2 8 yr old App mare. VPBA registered. Very correct herself, my vet loves her build and wants a replica  She has been bred once to Section B Welsh and threw a gorgeous very correct filly. She's an easy breeder and foals on her own no problems. She surprised everyone and foaled during the 2 hour break in between checks, great milk producer. Wonderful mother, caring and protective but yet when they get to be obnoxious she doesn't let them get away with too much (weaned her filly on her own @ 6 months! - filly was not thrilled ) She throws small, could be bred to a large and not go over. Very refined head, for an Appy she's got a gorgeous long and thick mane and tail and certainly throws that too! She does pass on her roaning and chrome too. She's got a 7 trot, 10 canter, and 9 jump. Her filly had amazing movement. She's the kind of mare that is only improved by the stallion but won't throw herself or less.
Her quirks: She doesn't like to be in confined spaces with men, but she was a theraputic/pony ride mount and has a great sweet temperment. Not sound due to injury as a yearling and must have feet trimmed a certain way to keep her from tripping but she's barefoot and any competent farrier can do - but other than that NO maintaince, VERY easy keeper. She is alpha and needs to be turned out with mares larger than herself to keep her "in line" out in the field (or babies - she adopts them and will act as a body guard for them)
Great oppurtunity to get a pony foal with minimal costs (stud, vet, foaling fees) since I am willing the keep her at home and pay her normal costs until month 8 and bring her back after foaling til weaning. Contract will be required though. She is located in S. Virginia about an hour from Raleigh.
I'd love to breed her myself again but poor college student budget won't allow it.

Free lease available on your farm. Gem is a textbook broodmare and just goes with the flow. She has produced some wonderful foals and crosses really well with warmbloods and other TB's. I have her papers and pictures if interested
Gem is currently in foal and due this May, if no one takes her I will rebreed her for this year since she produces laid back, nice movement and large size.

I own a stunning 16hh grey TB mare. Unfortunately, I am going traveling for 2 years and need her to go out on loan. 6 months ago she damaged her suspensory ligament and is now out of work (hence leasing her to be bred from).
She will make a fantastic brood mare and will produce fantastic sports horses, especially if crossed with ID. I have competed to her in show-jumping, cross country and dressage. It is a very sad lease. She has had no previous foals that I'm aware of. If you are interested please let me know. I live in the UK.

Stone's Throw is our Gold medalist for the AWS at Preliminary in eventing. She throws beautiful, short backed, lofty trot and amazing jump ability. Very young at 18, beautiful fancy mare. Must be used to take embryo's. Injured tail coming out of abscess tooth surgery so delivery could be an issue. Good home a must. Located in Madison, Ga.

I have 3 open Registered arabian broodmares that I don't think I will have $$ to breed if anyone is interested for arabian crosses. I hate having the older ladies open for a few years. I would be open to free leases or other arrangements. They are all proven broodmares. The older girls have foaled this last spring and summer.
Profire daughter- with 2 regional champion get and an extensive show record of her own. 14.2H
*Furno Khamal daughter that is a full sibling to Selket Mystery. 15.2H. Very sporthorse type.
Polish/Crabbet mare. Western/hunter. Big hip and easygoing foals. 15H

Flirting Cove- she is a shade under 16 hands, but throws the stallion's height. I believe her Don Alfredo colt ended up over 17 hands.

She lost this year's foal I believe because after 4 big babies, she needs a caslicks and this year I just didn't keep up after her pregnancy. She has caught easily with LC, fresh cooled, and frozen. She is not riding sound due to a track injury but is an easy keeper and gets along with everyone. She is a wonderful addition to any breeding program and I had planned to use Yak's frozen on her this year but due to life changes I am taking a break from breeding. She is in excellent shape and ready to be bred!!!
keerymeade@hotmail.com
Her previous owner Twinkletoz posted:
For those seeking a mare with a good organized mind, manners and a proven producer of sporthorses you might consider my former mare now at Wolfden Farm.
She was the highest scoring TB mare at her GOV inspection in 2002 (and 3rd or 4th overall in a large inspection class). Her Don Alfredo colt was a premium and has developed into a wonderful jumper and dressage horse, brave and quiet. Her Werbellin colt was a tall correct fellow with amazing movement even as a baby, a wonderful jump in him, an uphill conformation, soft and responsive in the bridle and gone on to a dressage home. Her daughter, Cambalee Cove, by Mandate at Wolfden Farm is the picture of her mother but chestnut with chrome. She'll be about 16.1, a large bodied mare with a beautiful neck, head, and topline and a solid hunter mover. Like her mother, her temperament is a 10! A wonderful sporthorse pedigree

Free broodmare lease for '09;
Good size medium pony mare. Coming 3yo this spring. Sired by Small-Land Movie Maker (stood at Richard Taylors) out of a Farnley mare by Cowboy Joe. She is a lovely mover and has free-jumped 1x at 2'6" in perfect hunter form. She is fancy enough to show on the line and would be at the top in the model. Please visit www.LockeMeadows.com and check out Our Horses. She's at the bottom of the page.

Hi all,
I'm in the awkward position this year of having one more paid stud fee than mares--some bad luck with mares slipping last year. I'm looking for a free lease on a proven broodmare with good conformation standing 16.3H or taller, TB or warmblood, with a scopey jump. Would be even better if the mare is riding sound.
I have a lovely private farm in central Ontario.

GOV and RPSI MMB approved TB mare for Lease, registered name is Lily Millie.
On farm or off, with references.
Lily is bay with a star, two hind white socks. She stands 16.0-16.1 hands, (I have not officially measured her, but she is at least 16 hands tall) She has had 5 full TB foals, and 2 WB cross foas. Her TB's were born before I owned her, and some of them have raced.
Lily had a lovely, premium GOV filly for me last year by Prince Optimus (Han). The filly was praised for her correctness and movement, and chosen as the reserve site champion. Video available on Youtube, search Peas and Cues,
Photos of Lily are available on my website, and I do have additional pictures of some of her TB babies also.

Reign Girl is a gorgeous animal. She stands 16.2 hands and is dark brown with no white. SHe has a refined face and is so athletic! She retired sound at age 8 winning 18 races and over $181,000...
She has had 3 foals. The first foal is a 4 year old 16.3 hand steeplechase horse! Her second foal is 3 years old and is already 16.1 hands and is close to starting! Her third foal is a 2 year old filly who is beautiful!
SHe is open for this year, but we had a bit of trouble with her foundering this past winter! She is currently sound and when they x-rayed her there was NO ROTATION...
She should be fine with time and possibly bar shoes! The owner can NO LONGER afford to keep her and needs to find a home for her or else has to put her down! She would make a great riding horse for someone or even a broodmare with some time!
She is located in Quakertown, PA Please PM me for more details!
Here is a picture of her taken 2 springs ago right after she foaled http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...ReignGirl2.jpg
Here is a picture of her first born, who is now 4 yrs old, when he was stabled at the racetrack last June. He is built exactly like his mother and is a spitting image of her! Plus he is SOOO athletic..He LOVES to jump and actually will make up ground in a race when he reaches and jumps the hurdle!

She is by a son of Sovereign Dancer who is by Northern Dancer, who is out of a Gallant Man mare.
Her Dam side is VERY interesting. Her mother is by Rare Performer who is a son of Mr. Prospector and her Second Dam is by the Ill Fated Exceller!
You don't see many horses that have Exceller!

I have 2 lovely, bred for sport, TB broodmares available for a free breeding lease. Both mares are dark bay and stand about 16.1hh, they are full sisters, ages 13 & 14. Both mares have been used for foxhunting as whip horses and are proven broodmares producing large correct foals with sound minds. The 14 year old mare is pasture sound only but does not require additional maintenance. The 13 year old mare is sound for breeding or riding including hunting and jumping again, but would require restarting as she hasn't been hunted or ridden regularly for about 3 years. Both mares are easy to handle, clip, load, trailer and deal with in general. They both have a wonderful mind and great disposition to go with their correct conformation and movement. Due to unforeseen circumstances I won't be able to breed this year but I didn't want to see these girls go to waste.

I have a MMB Oldenburg/NA mare by Pointmaker. She is 16.1, 10 years old. She just foaled, and I'm not going to breed her this year. Historically, she conceives on one cycle and foals easily. She is located in No. CA and must stay at my place. All her previous foals have been premium, and she was an in-hand winner herself.

Free lease available for 16yo TB mare (pedigree online at DelMar Pedigree Query) http://www.pedigreequery..com/dakamo+kim (http://www.pedigreequery.com/dakamo+kim) Miko is a 16.3h, dark bay with a small stripe on her face and one sock. Inspected and approved into the main mare book of Oldenburg NA for breeding. She has had one filly by Hanoverian stallion Landkonig, and one colt by Holsteiner stallion Cathalido and is an excellent mother. Both foals were quite large and correct. Filly was born in 2003, champion filly at her inspection and is 16.2 and still growing. She is very smart, trainable and has a sweet personality & fabulous work ethic (working 2nd/3rd level at 6yo). Colt was born in July 2008 and is an eventing prospect for his owner. He is quite smart and very flashy.
Colt is being weaned this week and mare is currently located in Seguin, TX near San Antonio. I would consider a lease to an approved home with references anywhere in Texas or nearby states.

Also posted in Giveaways though a breeding lease would be my goal
TB broodmare, 1995, dark bay, approx. 15.3
Very nice conformation and movement
She has not been ridden since I have owned her (early winter) and I have no information as to whether she was ridden since being on the track. She appears sound. I did not have a PPE done. She was almost a rescue (rapidly deteriorating situation, especially for a mare of her caliber).
Raced in 1998-99 (as a 3 and 4yo). Won the Palo Alto Stakes; earned just shy of $63,000 in her career.
Eight foals (2001-08), five of which show racing earnings (2 over $50,000, another at around $30,000). No race info for the two youngest (07-08). The '06 foal died as a weanling.
Daughter of Hansel (1991 Preakness and Belmont winner), damsire is Secreto, son of Northern Dancer.
Pictures available upon request. Insurance required.

Hey all!
I'm new to the forum, so I'd like to say "hi!" and that I'm offering a free-lease for any period of time on my TB mare. She is currently being kept a my parent's farm as I've moved, and given the current economy, I can't afford to bring her with me. My parents are wonderful and they mean well, but they're not great horse people.
1998 TB Mare - Bay, minimal white
~ 16.2, correct, and quite leggy; moves well, but not exemplary.
Please note: *She is registered with the JC and tattooed, but I do not have her foaling certificate.* Currently, she's pasture-mate to my mother's 'nag'. She is off the track, although she was retired in 2004 to broodmare duty; where she has two foals by D'wildcat. I was told she is a wonderful mother, but I have not bred her.
PM for interest, name and (possibly) pictures. (I'll have to ask my parents to take some!) She's by Alydeed, out of a Danzig mare... so there is a significant portion of Northern Dancer. She is located in Central, NY. Insurance would be required. I'd prefer if she stayed in-state, or within a 3 hour radius.
Thanks!
Kerry

17 year old imported Hannoverian mare, 17hds, black with 4 socks, star and snip. Mare tested in Germany score 7.83 with 8 & 9 for jumping, shown successfully; jumpers in Germany (1.3m) and US 3rd level dressage (8s for gaits). Hunter people tell me her movement is very good too. Full sibling to GOV licensed stallion. Has produced 1 foal, 4 year old filly w/ frozen on 1st try. She should be bred again, I am just not in a position to do it.
Excellent mother with great temperament. She would have to stay with me in southern California.

Located in Ocala, FL, but would consider delivering to the right person since I anticipate other shipping trips. Considering free lease of gorgeous 13.0h pony broodmare (Chelsea's Christian). Full sister to pony hunter national champion, 3/4 sister to overall USEF national champion (Theodore O'Connor), maternal half-sister to numerous AA-circuit hunter ponies.
Chrissy's oldest son has shown hunters and evented. Her gorgeous daughter, age 4, is ready to show (videos on YouTube: Kunichiwa). Both are 14.1h larges by 14+ hand stallions. She is a super easy-keeper and the most pony-like (temperament-wise) of my Thoroughbred crosses. Like her, her babies have all been extremely easy to deal with. She is ten and unbroke, but would probably be easy to back and a pleasant, maybe even beginner, ride (given her temperament).
I'm offering her because, like so many other folks, the scary economy has me becoming very, very conservative these days, so I'm not putting as many foals on the ground as I might have otherwise. PM me for more info.

Lola is useful as both a Dressage horse and a breeding mare. Proven producer crosses well with small ponies (doesn't go over) and large Hano's (or whatever). Will tell you details.
Already in the mentioned books! Not eligible Hano per pedigree, but you may be able to fight it, again will explain. Am also open to ownership options. Currently open as we have been riding her and the farm is closing and relocating.
15.3h, solid bay, 7 walk, 9 trot, 8 canter, 8 jump. Conformation is correct, but she is short in the legs. She could almost model "Hunter" but is more suited as a Dressage horse per movement. Has thrown both, depending on Sire.
100% sound and has NOT had a hard life, flexes sound. UTD on everything, easy keeper and a love bug. LOVES having a job but is a good mother and is an EASY AI breeder, good candidate for frozen as all of her breedings have been inserted late or early, never on time.
Never caslicked, no need. Never lost a foal and always took 1st try no matter the conditions. Does well in hot/cold climate. Last culture showed 2 VERY SMALL cysts (and I mean small), no biggie.
Riding or breeding! Would prefer a small facility as she deserves alot of 1 on 1... Good girl.
Lola is currently for sale on website, having some interest w/ minimal exposure, but WILL consider a lease, lease to own, to a GREAT home. Video on website. www.cedarpinefarm.com

Lizzie’s Hero:
7-year-old
16.3 hands
Dark Bay Throughbred Mare by Partner’s Hero out of Lizzie of Live Oak by Caveat
Lizzie has the size, substance, bone, and temperament that are becoming more and more difficult to find in the modern Thoroughbred. Her classic Thoroughbred lines are filled with class and stamina, and her conformation and movement are a cut above the rest. Bred and hand selected for the broodmare barn by noted breeding operation Acorn Hill Farm.
Currently in foal (due any moment) to Palladio. May be bred here to the stallion of your choice, and after weaning can stay here under our care (but on your bill) or you can move her to an approved home in California, Oregon, or Nevada. Had a foal in 2007, who we unfortunately lost in a pasture accident in January. Easy to breed, and an excellent mother--even helped with an orphan foal while nursing her first one. Was open in 2008, and we rode her--she does training level dressage and can jump small courses--would do well as an eventer, jumper, or low level dressage horse. She is an excellent mover and a scopey jumper. We will present her and her baby to ISR/Oldenburg.
We bought her to produce eventers, but financially need to take a break from breeding for a few years. We don't want to sell her, as we hope to have her for breeding again in the future. 10 temperament--we just love this mare to death.
Pictures available under "Breeding Program" on our website. Please call or email (on website) or PM for more information and terms.

I have quite a few foals due this year and am open to offering my welsh/QH mare for a free care lease on your farm. She is 13.3 chestnut with a star and hind socks. She is bred to my 16.2 hand Cleveland Bay Sporthorse stallion. This pony has had some cute pony foals, including a Halcyon Sir Lancelot foal. She is due around Sept 2 2009, has been pastured with my stallion. She is an easy keeper and is fine on 24/7 turnout or stalled 1/2 day. Lease can be through weaning of foal, or we can extend it if the new leasee would like to breed her back for another foal or ride her. Email me for pictures of her.

Hello,
I recently loss my TB mare to a severely fractured back leg due to another mare. I was looking forward to breeding her this year or next to a WB stud.
I would like to look into leasing another mare for this season or next. I would also seriously consider any giveaways.
If you have a TB or WB mare you are looking to lease out or find a home in or near CO, please let me know.
Thank you in advance.

I have a lovely chestnut, TB, mare who is about 15:2HH and 7 yrs old. She would cross well with either a pony or larger horse.
She is currently in foal and due within the next month. I would love for her to keep breeding, but am not in a position to do that myself this year, which is why I am offering her here.
Here is her pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/index.php?query_type=horse&search_bar=&h=MOSTWANTED+DIAMOND&g=5&p=0&f=1&l=
This mare has a huge personality, a terrific work ethic and a huge amount of heart. She has an old track injury that prevents her from being able to jump, but she loves to trail ride and do flat work. I would be happy for her to be ridden throughout the lease. Located in upstate NY, but would be open to her travelling to the right place. Can be taken to your place after weaning.
PM me or e-mail: cagey22@hotmail.com if interested.

I apologize ahead of time as I posted this last year but family mattters kept me from addressing the responses.
Abdullah mare 14 years old, about 15.1-solid-big body mare-ATA papers out of xx mare that is maternal sister to two GP jumpers. Because of family matters it has been several years since she was bred-she has one strapping 16.3 selle francais son. Last time I bred her she absorbed --so I cannot make any statements about her breeding soundness (and if I get a vet in to do a report I will be tempted to breed her myself-so I am not going there.;-)
She has great genetics for the right person.
I have too many old horses I am feeding so breeding has not been an option for me.
Once again I prefer she stay in the mid-atlantic area - within 3-or so hours of Baltimore area.
Edited to add:approved for breeding with selle francais

I am interested in finding one more registered Warmblood mare for the 2009 season (Oldenburg, Dutch, Hanoverian, Swedish, Holsteiner, Selle Francais) Any colours except gray. A pinto would be great but solid colours are great too. 16.1h+
My horses and facility can be seen at www.blazingcoloursfarm.com (http://www.blazingcoloursfarm.com)
Mare must be able to come to my facility for pregnancy and foaling so I prefer to find something in or around the east coast (NY, SC, FL, MA, VT, OH, PA, FL etc...) or in Ontario, Quebec so shipping in not overly expensive.
Please e-mail pedigree, photos and detailed description to postmaster@blazingcoloursfarm.com

We are looking slowly for a freelease (at our farm) with perhaps a purchase option (if price is decent), or for a broodmare who looks for a forever home.
Our criterias:
- Must be Main Mare Book eligible, or approved with GOV or Hanoverian (AHS or Verband).
- No Tb's (we DO LIKE Tb's, but this is just not what we are looking for for now). Must be registered in a major german association (Oldenburg Verband, Hanoverian (AHS or German) etc.). Papers must be in order (see 1st criteria).
- Must be breeding sound, and if older, would love to see some of her foals.
- No need to be riding sound, but need to be sane in her mind (no weavers, no cribbers, no anti-social mares or angry mares)
- Must be between 15.3 and 16.3 (may consider 15.2 if great bloodlines), and not over 18yo.
- Must be within 6hrs drive from MONTREAL (Qc, Canada) or OTTAWA (Qc, Canada), as we dont want to travel far far away. If the mare is located farther, you must be willing to travel for the part of the trip who is over that distance.
What we offer:
- A forever home (with a solid contract of return or first choice etc. in the case we cannot honour this promess due to illness etc. of ourselves) in the option it is not only a lease.
- Safe paddocks with shelters or boxstalls for night, bad weather, etc. Barn is new, boxs are 12x12 and 12x16. Turnouts at least 12h/day when weather is good, in small groups. Blankets in the winter, flysheets and flymasks in the summer.
- Small private breeding farm, experienced owners.
- Good, professionnal care including regular deworming, good nutrition planification, free choice hay, farriers each 4-6 weeks, regular vaccination and vet cares.
- The mare would be bred the first year with a young Sandro Hit son, reg. hanoverian (who will be presented for licencing to GOV this year, and AHS next year), for a test breeding, and if the mare stays for a second year, via frozen semence to a german based hanoverian stallion.
- Excellent references.

Registered refined and athletic little mare looking for a free lease for an undetermined amount of time. 1996 trails, shows etc she is sound and can be ridden or bred. Foal easily no issues quickest births I have ever seen! Great mom. Produces little like herself lol! Great temp and a fun hot little mare to ride. She can jump the moon...If its not too scary. Strong foundation QH breeding on dams side (who is still fairly healthy and strong with a wonderful zest for life at 34!!), and nicely bred in TB breeding. Would make a nice cross for ponies. Cutting back on breeding this year and no plans to show her this year. Great pony club prospect as well for a rider who enjoys hot and fun! Please email or call for info and pics. Easy keeper and does fine with just a run in not blanketed all winter or stalls just as easily. No vices, fairly alpha mare does best in smaller groups or a large group with lots of space....little red mare syndrome lol prefer she stay in new England. But would consider other options to the right situation and even possible sale. Don't need to place her would just like to see he utilized a little better rather than going on the occasional trail ride for the next couple years.

I have a lovely 4 yar old TB mare - Mango Bay available for a breeding lease. She had a hip injury as a weanling so is not riding sound, but just had a lovely big bay colt for me. Easy foaling and she is a great mother. She is a nice, big solid type mare with great conformation.
Her pedigree can be found here - http://www.pedigreequery.com/mango+bay
Her family have produced many sport horse type thoroughbreds. I have photographs if anyone is interested in her. I don't want to breed her this year (or next!) so am looking for someone to take her on a free breeding lease.

2002 Registered Chestnut TB mare named Winters Payback. Currently in foal due in May. Would like to lease her out for the 2009 breeding season. Needing to cut down a few due to the economy. She throws big correct babies, and has thrown color before. Prefer an on farm lease, would lease mare for discounted board on my farm, or possibly could go to approved off site farm. Currently not broke, but person that leases is welcome to play with her under saddle if they want. This is a great oppurtunity to get in on the Indiana bred/sired thoroughbred race breeding program. Can possibly ship to breeding shed and arrange a breed back for the person who leases. PM with more questions.

I am looking for a nice TB or WB mare to breed for next year. Sadly, I lost my beautiful mare this year foaling, and I would like to have another nice mare to breed to my stallion.
I'd prefer the mare to be 16.1 or more, big boned, good temperment, great movement. I am breeding for eventers. My stallion has world class dressage lines, and he seems to have strong genetics.
I would need to be able to keep the mare at my place in North Carolina. Please PM me if you think your mare would be a good match.

Update:
Lily has been leased for the season. Thanks for the interest.

Hi,
I'm looking for a nice registered (preferably) Oldenburg mare to breed lease in FL. I have a breeding to a very nice Selle Francais black stallion and want to produce myself a very fancy foal. I own a Stud Farm breeding Welsh Ponies and Cobs and also a Riding center which is taking off really well. Both facilities are really nice and I have some great people working for me. I also have 2 trainers here who can ride the mare and, I can always take her on consignment OR offer a breeding back to one of my stallion ponies, who would produce some nice sport horses. I am going to also post on the giveaway section but I am open to offers and i can ship along the East Coast. Any ideas please email me!

Walkabout is a 16.2 3/8 1992 KWPN mare by Aram see full pedigree here: http://www.paardenfokken.nl/pedigree.php?horseid=151727 She is a proven 3'6"+ hunter (has shown in everything from adults, a/o's, jr's and regular workings) and has won classes at every major show on the East Coast including, but not limited to, WEF, Hampton Classic, Lake Placid, etc. She is a fantastic jumper, great mover, scopey, huge strided, correct, and has a HUGE heart and mind of a saint. She just had a gorgeous correct filly by Just The Best (who is a definite keeper for me!). She took on 1st breeding and had a completely perfect textbook pregnancy and delivery.

I have a TB mare that I am looking for a temporary home for. I’ve owned “Zoë” for 6 years now. She is a very special horse, and one that I want to be able to keep tabs on and own permanently. That being said, I am currently in school, and need a place for her for a while. I am open to pretty much any options, as long as she is in a good home where I can visit/get updates. She has been a brood mare for the past year, and I am looking for a home that would be interested in breeding her back, or in putting her back into work. I would be happy to work out a half lease or free lease to the right situation
A little bit about her:
• Zoë is a 13 year old, 16.0 dark bay TB mare with Bold Ruler & Seattle Slew lines
• I got her as a 7 year old, and competed her through Prelim. She was fairly consistently in the ribbons, although her tendencies to be “fresh” in the dressage ring limited her a bit.
• She was breed to a German Sport Pony in Spring 2007. She had a pretty easy pregnancy, and gave birth to a chestnut gelding in June 2008. She ate breakfast one morning, got turned out, and by the time we got back to the barn 45 minutes later, she’d foaled and the baby was up! She was a phenomenal mother. She was very comfortable with us handling the baby, and seemed to do a good job keeping an eye on him, but letting him get further and further away as he got older. Weaning was awesome- I think she was happy to have some time to herself again.
• I’m really flexible with different situations for this horse. My mom has very kindly kept her for the last year, but I can’t leave her there any longer. If I could afford to keep her with me, I’d do it in a heartbeat, but with school I’m not sure I can.
• If someone is interested in riding her, either without breeding her, or while she’s not too far along, that would be fine, too!
• http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=5168&id=1173383185&l=de28669ea8 (with foal)
• http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1877&id=1173383185&l=182bed3087 (in competition)

Attractive dark bay unraced thoroughbred mare. Very nice mover, correct and scopey jumper. Deep-bodied, most think she is WB not TB. Forward-thinking, great work ethic, easy to ride and train (started and trained by ammy-owner). Sound barefoot.
She was kicked in the stifle as a 2yo and sustained an avulsion fracture with ligament damage. This healed with a bone spur in the stifle and she does not remain sound in steady work.
Foaled a beautiful bay colt by Royal Appearance 2 weeks ago in a textbook foaling. Excellent mother. Foal is very outgoing and brave. Took on first try with frozen semen. No hormonal manipulation necessary. I work for a vet, so breeding would be easy to set up.
Would prefer her to stay within 4-5 hours of Central NJ. Can move after foal is weaned or I would be happy to continue to care for her if board is paid for. I would like to breed her in another year or two, so definitely only a lease. Breeding is just not in my budget this year.

AHHA MMB TB Mare
On the Rox (Jockey Club 'Wrong Girl') is a 1995 model TB mare.
Rox was entered into the Main Mare Book of the 'American Holsteiner Horse Assn' studbook in 2006. She was also the site Champion of her Mare inspection here in Virginia.
She has had two beautiful foals for us. And had a successful career on the race track earning $140k.
She was schooled in eventing prior to becoming a broodmare and was an absolute joy to ride.
Uncomplicated mare. Easy breeder. Has been successfuly bred with both fresh and frozen semen on first try.
Rox is a very athletic mare with good gaits and conformation.

I have a rideable/showable 14.1h pony mare who is a doll to live with--a lovely grey with the most quiet, yet enthusiastic, attitude. I need a 13.1-hand or smaller mare for my young stallion. The gray is too closely related to him to use--and I can't afford yet another mouth to feed. I'm ideally seeking a registered Welsh mare with white markings, but I'd consider others (age, soundness doesn't matter--except breeding soundness). My mare would make a nice adult pleasure horse for local showing or, with more schooling, would do the pony hunters. She is long-fronted and big-bodied and so does not ride at all like a pony.
Oh, I don't think I would be able to use a maiden broodmare since my stallion is 15.0h and the mare needs to know how to handle herself with a bigger and somewhat boisterous stallion.

Very successful line career, coupled with a good riding career makes this a super opportunity for someone looking to make a top hunter- horse or pony! Sara is as sweet as they come: anyone would be thrilled to have a foal out of this gorgeous, kind mare. Sara just had a gorgeous foal by Hennessey for a lucky lady in Florida.
She would need to leased by this foal heat, otherwise I will breed her myself for a large pony.

Chloe is 11 yrs old, a maiden mare. She has just been diagnosed with a high suspensory strain and i've decided to give her 2 years off. She has been a successful hunter and jumper with a great temperment and tremendous athletic ability. Although i prefer the jumper ring, she jumps in hunter form and often won the hack in good company. See her USEF record under show name "October Road". She is by the Holsteiner "Carlost". Her mom was a homebred TB. I would prefer a local lease so i can visit her... I happen to live next door to a large breeding farm owned by a very reputable vet, and would love for her to be there on pasture board with the other broodmares. Their expenses are very reasonable. I have a wonderful Trakehner Mare 1998 model, she is 16.2 bright bay with no white, she is really very pretty. I am looking for a longterm broodmare lease for her, she has had 2 fillies in 2008 by Contango & in 2009 by Salieri who was awarded 1st premium at her inspection. She is a registered Trakehner (has Abdullah & Enrico Caruso in her lines) but also registered GOV. She is a wonderful mom and loves it. She is easy to handle and loves 'her' people'. Her current filly will be weaned in November so she will be available after that. She was my eventer till she had a check ligament injury so eventing is out for her, she was a great jumper and above average mover-great trot. She is located in NY. I would require Vet & Personal references aswell as her to be insured, I would be willing to do a free lease to the right home.

EM Bo Peep is a 1992 liver chestnut by Banter (Bolero/Grande) out of Lisher (Lessing). She has permanent elite mare status with the American Hanoverian Society. I have had her since she was a yearling. She has won everything there is to win in breed shows and was an "8" mare at her inspection, the 2nd highest-scoring mare in the US (about 317 inspected that year, I believe), and the highest-scoring mare was an 8.17.
She has competed through 4th level. She was the East Coast Breeders' Champion at Devon as well as twice the reserve. She was also reserve champion mare at Devon, and has won countless championships and titles. I have a copy of her competition record and she is very well-known in Hanoverian circles and by breed show handlers and organizers.
She has a wonderful temperament. She has never had a foal--she was mainly my competition horse. She would be available for free breeding lease preferably on the farm where she is in Maryland. She is retired from competition and her shoes have been pulled. I also have two doses of Quaterback semen which I would give to the right person with the right motivation, as part of the arrangement.
Please contact me at friskmom@gmail.com. I don't check my COTH private messages often so that email is the best way to be in touch with me. Thanks--Rebecca

EM Bo Peep is a 1992 liver chestnut by Banter (Bolero/Grande) out of Lisher (Lessing). She has permanent elite mare status with the American Hanoverian Society. . . .
She was also reserve champion mare at Devon, and has won countless championships and titles. . . . Hanoverian circles and by breed show handlers and organizers.

We have a lovely 16.1++ hh Trakehner Mare for breeding lease (no live cover allowed - shipped semen only). She was intentionally left open this year and will be ready for early spring. Belen is by Libikus out of Pregelstrand by Morgenglanz - so if you are seeking good solid older lines - look no further. Also is a proven producer of COLOR! Belen is an easy foaler and a great mother - even took on an orphan colt alongside her own last year! We can email pictures. Her pedigree can be seen at www.allbreedpedigree.com/belen4 This mare was used as an eventer and is lifetime with USDF. She had a pasture injury and is now retired as a broodmare. Wonderful mover, very kind disposition, no vices (does require someone to buddy up to), good manners. Must be approved lease situation. Prefer to stay on the east coast. Delivery can be arranged. Please inquire with questions or drop us an email.

Camilla is a stunning 16.3 h Premium Holsteiner mare. She was an upper level dressage horse until a trailer accident landed her with a broken shoulder. She has healed correctly and would probably stand up to light work.
She has Cottage Son and Lord in her background.
She is a lovely bay mare with a few ermine spots on the hind. Is a very elegant mover and has a great attitude and personality.
Ideally would like to find a breeding relationship with someone with a stallion that can produce something with a little more refinement and height.
Pictures available.
Camilla is located in Knoxville, tn.

Friend of mine in Ocala, FL has 2 broodmares she is interested in leasing out for 2010. Can be shipped whenever. One is a bay mare with lots of chrome by Consul who has produced 2 very nice foals out of an Argentinius son for her and was a successful broodmare before she got her. Second mare is Rhinelander approved TB mare who has produced one foal for her out of the same stallion, very hunter type. Foal is very correct. First mare is not rideable, 2nd mare is rideable and jumps. Questions can be emailed to farringtonmill@aol.com

Kammie has just turned 10 years old this summer. She unfortunately had injured herself, and had a year of rest. She is sound in the pasture, but not sound enough to go back to work full time. Kammie is a Percheron-Saddlebred cross. The farm I purchased her from advertises them as Georgian Grandes. She is a very flashy dark bay with 4 white socks, a star and a stripe. You can visit Flying W Farms website to view her sire ,"Firedance". I have owned her since she is 2. She has no vices and has not been bred before. I think she is a great broodmare candidate. I am currently a full time student and do not have the funds to breed her myself. Kammie is available for a free lease to a good farm. We are located in Aiken, Sc. Please email me directly for pictures. My email is butter3136@yahoo.com

Available for the 2009 and breeding season.
MJ Miss Saigon is an amazing 13 year old, 1st premium Canadian Warmblood Mare. She is 16.1hh, chestnut, with a lot of chrome, she is sabino, so should throw lots of colour in there as well. Missy and I have done showing in the past and had a successful time together. We were always in the ribbons at every show we attended. In our last full season we were reserve champion in the Southeast Hunter Division. Missy excels in the hunter ring, but i think that is because it is my favorite, she is quick on her feet, and loves to be challenged. She wants to be a mom, everytime she sees a baby she gets a quiet look in her eyes. I would love to breed her myself, but, at this point do not have the resources to do so, but I do wish for her to have a baby.
She has great movement, confirmation, and a tempermant that is just sweet. She is a half niece to Big Ben as well. Her Sire was Fantast, and her mother an Anglo Arab mare. She loves children, and attention, she is happiest living outside, and, is the easiest keeper I have ever owned. Many of her full and half siblings are successfully showing and competeing in the hunter, jumper and dressage rings.
If you would like more information about my mare, please PM me or email me at mjmissssaigon@hotmail.com

I am reducing and reorganizing my program and I am looking to rehome 2 mares. I had these girls both sold but the buyer was injured and unable to complete the sale. I am open to selling these girls outright, a foal share scenario with a stallion owner, would consider a trade also. Current Coggins and UTD on everthing. Serious inquiries welcome at warmbloods@gto.net.
Kate is May 14, 2000 Model.
She is by Palmenwind (Donauwind/Palme) she is out of Sylvia Jana who is by Vincent out of Scrimshaw(Vincient is by Ibikus out of Viktoria) Scimschaw is by Tudor Call XX out of Bethina. Kate is a 9 mover with a huge natural extended trot. She stands at 17 hands She is registered Canadian Trakenher. Obviously you could have inspected /approved GOV or RPSI if you those are your registeries of choice, or more marketable in your area.
She had 30 days on her as a 3 year old. Easy breeder and easy foaler. A really good mom.
She is sound but does have an old scar on hind leg from an injury as a weanling.
Reva- 13 year old By Jabbar Kahil ox out of Regalis
Reva is a strong large mare over 16.2 h. with cannon at 20.6 cm.
Inspection marks: 7, 8/8, 7, 7, 7,8
Rivendell at her side in this photo
On her sire side she carriers the legendary Arabian bloodlines of Sakr ox and Nabiel ox.
From her dam side she brings Trakehner influences from Donauwind and Schwalbenflug, and from the
Thoroughbred influence comes Bold Ruler xx (sire to Secretariat xx) and Royal Charger xx. Even the great Man of War played a part in Reva's Thoroughbred line.

A client of mine acquired a former international jumper. The mare has had 1 foal. However she is not in good shape and had DSLD which seems to be going downhill quickly. She needs a mare to do an ET on in the next week - 2 weeks. The vet advised if she was going to do that to breed now. This obviously was a unplanned, but it is a now or never situation. She would like to free lease a mare for this. The mare would have superb care. I have loaned her my mares, I think that much of her care.
Thanks-Nancy

DSLD is believed to be genetic, so why would your friend be breeding this mare?
http://pfht7dtz02.googlepages.com/espaBrochure.pdf ----The paper is actually published by a vet, but seems to be held by Google. I'm not sure why. I'm not the most internet savvy person in the world.
University of Georgia veterinary college is conducting extensive research on this very subject. You could contact them for more information.

"DSLD/ESPA is believed to be a genetic disorder so it is advised to take all affected horses out of the breeding pool so the disease does not get passed on."

It sounds like a rather horrific condition!

For Free Lease or Giveaway:
Cutie is a 14yo (1995) beautiful chestnut Rabicano TB mare with great conformation and movement. She was approved Main Mare Book by Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society/Oldenburg Verband (GOV) in 2006. This year she had a beautiful, big, correct bay pinto fily by Dutch Warmblood pinto stallion Hall of Fame born 4/25/09, who was awarded Premium at her GOV inspection.
Cutie has the sweetest, loving temperment that makes her a joy to own and definitely passed that on to her filly, who is extremely sweet and easy to work with. Bred with fresh semen last year, she took on the first try and had an easy foaling; she is very trusting of humans and does not get protective of her foal. She is an excellent mother, is super easy to handle on the ground and has good feet. I have her JC papers.
Pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/i+am+a+cutie
She will be ready to go after her filly is weaned this November. Located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
If you are interested in Cutie, please PM or send an e-mail to me at philliab@gmail.com

Ruby is a 13 handish reg. welsh pony about 11y/o. Grey/white. silver mane, three tall white socks, white star and strip. Not looking to breed in the next couple years so figured she could be useful for someone looking to breed. She is broke to ride, but extremely green. She got kicked in the turnout, broke her right hind splint bone and that is why we decided to breed her in 2005. She is sound now, but is a great mom and figured that this would be a good job for her. She is a half sister to one of the leading small ponies that won the USEF pony finals back in the 90's. Ruby's pedigree is available on the all breed pedigree website under Danlynns Ruby Tuesday. Ruby took on the first breeding, had an uneventful pregnancy and an easy foaling. The 2006 filly is by a 15.1h WB. She is able to live out or in (extremely clean in her stall), she is barefoot and is an easy keeper. Ruby is able to travel or to stay in WI. References will be required. Thanks for looking!

Bought this lovely pony hunter as a long-term resale project. I am finding less and less time for this mare at the moment. If anyone is interested in a free broodmare lease for the 2010 season, please contact me. She is a maiden mare, so I cannot offer any insight or advice. However, if she does not take she can come back home. 2001 Welsh cross. 13.2h sorrel chestnut. Excellent ground manners. Very easy to handle. And gets along with all horses. By Cormac's Run (TB) out of Kelston Knoll (welsh). Cymraeg Rainbeau bloodlines.

I am looking for a warmblood broodmare, dressage or eventing type. I've heard a lot of stories about problems with leasing; I would consider a free lease but prefer a re-homing situation. I can offer the best of homes. I have a small farm (Virginia) and breed to nationally recognized stallions to get 1-2 quality foals per year. My husband is a vet and I have 30+ years experience with horses, do all my own care, all my horses get lots of TLC and individual attention. I’m not looking for a re-sale project but will provide a long-term home. I’d be happy to provide references.
My wish list: Must be registered with a recognized warmblood registry, TBs with dressage movement considered. Must be pretty and correct. Cosmetic defects (injuries) OK. Prefer non-chestnut, prefer 16h+, sound to ride is a plus but not necessary. Must be vice free, have a good temperament, and get along well when turned out with other horses. Must be breeding sound. If the mare is already in foal (to a stallion I am interested in), I will reimburse for breeding expense.

Personable, beautiful bay mare by Grusus out of a TB with national hunt lines. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/gracious+gold2. Her Sire is half brother to the stallion Gold Luck and is the Dam side Grand Sire to the stallion Best Gold.
Grace sticks at 16.3H barefoot, has wonderful presence and had incredible movement and suspension before a crippling injury. She is a big, beautiful mare. She has a CP from AHS and is eligible for Oldenburg approval. I have 2 stunning foals out of her by the Hanoverian Stallion Welcome S which can be seen where she is boarded. She has also produced 2 lovely half connemaras.
Grace has an amazing temperament that she passes to her foals. All her babies are intelligent, people loving, nearly unspookable and easy to handle with incredible movement. She produces babies that people love to own. She is a wonderful mother and integrates easily into the herd. She has been easy to breed and foal. Grace has a crippling injury that requires special shoeing which I will continue to pay for. I am looking for a situation for Grace where she is handled daily and gets the attention that she loves. She wants to hang with the peeps. And as a peep, I can guarantee that you will want to hang with her.
I am not a breeder but bred her once in hopes of getting a filly just like her, then bred her again because the filly was incredible and the breeding was worth repeating. I have no interest in breeding again as I board all my horses. At some point, we will have our own place and Grace will retire happily with us but in the meantime she would be wonderful addition to a sporthorse breeding program.

I have a 10 year old 15.1 hd mare solid black white star registered Appaloosa. She is basicallly 7/8ths quarter horse. She has produced 1 grey (born black) and 1 black with 4 whites and a blaze. I have bred her to a Grey Irish Draught and Got a wonderful grey filly that is 16.2 + hds at 2. And then most recently bred her to a Dutch Harness Horse and have a fabulous colt. She has that quarter horse mucscling and puts a huge stride for the canter on her foals. They all track up nicely and have awesome necks. The mare is the daughter of one of my other broodmares. She rides and drives. Probably more broke to drive then ride. She was left open last year and I'm not planning on breeding her this year. She is an easy breeder, both parents were black if you are looking to breed for black she would be worth looking at. All her siblings went on to be hunters and her 2 children are definetly performance horses. Available for lease or?

I used to own a lovely 17 H 1993 mare by Simbalu in Virginia. She was raised to be a hunter, not a race horse. Because of an injury early in her career, she became a light riding horse (for me) and later a broodmare. I bred her first foal, a lovely, smart, easy to handle, remarkably beautiful filly. I then sold her to a woman who bred her to an Irish Draught for foxhunter prospects. She is currently listed for $1 on Dreamhorse.com. Her name is Sable. Do a name search and she will come up. Please PM me for further info. She is really, really nice mare. She'd make someone a nice broodmare for sporthorse prospects.

Posie has a wonderful new home!
I have a 12 yr old MMB Oldenburg NA mare by Calimero I – Carneval – Cor de la bryere out of a TB mare by Keelo (Dam was 3/4 sibling to Bit of Class). She has been an excellent producer. Her Alla’czar colt from 2007 scored 8.5 conformation/ 8.5 movement / 8.5 overall impression and was the site Champion for the Chestnut Lawn Inspection. Her 2005 filly was also premium. She is a good mover and an excellent jumper. She is 15.2 hands, but throws large. Her 2yr old is 16.1 hands now and all legs. She is a very easy breeder (2 frozen pregnancies) and a great mother. She is currently open. Lessee would be responsible for all of her expenses (vet, farrier, ect). I would also require them to carry an insurance policy for mortality and major medical. Would also consider giving her to an excellent home.

I have a 7 year old grey Welsh mare that I would like to lease out for a year or two. She's by Elite Earl Grey and out of Adrienne's Jewel (dam of Wellen Red Rock and Wellen Rosetta). She's 12.1 and is an awesome mover. She has had one foal in the past, though I know very little about it.
I also have an 11 year old TB mare that I'd be willing to lease out. She is bay and 15.2 with a gorgeous babydoll head and nice conformation. She is a lovely mover. She has had 3 lovely foals, the most recent of which (this year's foal) sold at a week old.
I'd also consider leasing a couple of others:
Shenandoah Dulcimer: a coming 4 year old grey Welsh A mare. She is just over 12.1 and really looks more like a B than an A. She is by Farnley Magic Flute and out of Shenandoah Windchime (by Severn Snapdragon). She has a beautiful head with huge eyes and tiny ears. She is a huge mover.
The King Sisters: Sophie is a 13 year old TB mare. She is 15.3 and dark bay. She had a lovely TB filly this year, but late in the season, so we didn't breed her back. She is also the dam of Stoneledge Adelie who was Reserve Champion Pony Filly at Devon in 2007.

We're working on my mare's Elite status with the BWP and one of the requirements is to produce a registered BWP foal. I'm not interested in breeding her at this time because I don't need a foal and I don't want to have her out of work. We're working on those performance requirements at the moment.
I'm offering free donation of an embryo (ET) if you pick up the collection expenses. I will transport her to one of the Ocala facilities but all other expenses are on the lessee...
Galiba is a dark bay 2006 filly, BWP registered but Holsteiner bred. She is a 3/4 sister to AHHA stallion, Lotus T. She was champion of the AHHA inspection, MMP and has earned her first e Label with the BWP, although this is ONLY available to someone who will register the foal BWP. She is a BEAUTIFUL modern hunter type, although I'm pursuing an eventing career for her. She is truly an easygoing and very intelligent mare.

Seeking stakes winning or stakes producing thoroughbred broodmare. Will consider mares who have won over 70k on the track. Must have papers. Age, color and size do not matter, so long as the mare is able to bare a foal. Injuries ok, no mares who require regumate please (we have young women at the barn!). Looking to breed late feb 2010. Would like only one year lease, with option to keep/purchase when foal is born.

I am looking for one or two surrogate mares to breed this spring. 16- 16.2 hands would be just perfect, any riding type mare but no draft, easy breeder (so must have had a foal before) with a nice temperament not older than 8-9 years old. I would keep her on my farm as I want to monitor her conditions closely.
All my horses are being fed with Brooks feed from the Kentucky Equine Research, hoof trimmed and dewormed on a regular shedule (worm count too) .
I am in Ontario Canada. References will be provided, my vet made high remarks on the care given to my horses. She considers my broodmares as examples of what broodmares should look like.

I'm looking for a mare to breed to the great hunter stallion Jupiter this coming year. I owned him until 2005 and have some frozen left that I would like to use. If anyone has any ideas or a mare they think would be good I would love to know. Thanks!

Hi there,
I have a Aristos B mare that I am willing to lease out for one breeding season. She is on the smaller size so would be a great broodmare for sportponies or breed to a bigger stallion for a sporthorse. Her first foal by Castle Cove matured to almost 16.0hh. Thanks for looking. Please email Jenna at crownridgefarms@hotmail.com

Dear Santa,
Last year I asked for the impossible, a broodie for free lease for my Sempatico breeding.
I got several AMAZING offers, but life and finances did not come together for shipping from far away places. THE most BEAUTIFUL mares who would have fit in 110% in most cases... it broke my heart to have such lovely offers, but I couldn't make it work.
Little did I know I'd be losing my job in July. But *you* knew, and that's why it didn't come together.
I have the most wonderful full time job now, and am looking forward to sticking with things.
In that light, I can provide:
24/7 Turnout in all but the worst of weather. In the worst of weather, 12x12 box stalls, or 12x24 broodie barn.
100% ATTENDED foaling. Period. No questions asked.
Excellent nutrition, based on hay analysis, and 25+ years of experience PLUS that of professionals. Free choice forage (pasture or hay) or as close to it as possible.
Blankets if Her Highnessness so wishes, but usually furry coats and bohemian manes. :D
It's not fancy, far from it. ALL candidates must be willing to be loved on by special students of all ages. In particular, looking for a mare who can contribute to the Wounded Warriors starting in the Spring if possible...
Stallions I'll use: My own, a 15/16ths Arabian/Pinto, made RPSI Book I, but is not current in such as costs were far too high for demand. His son, out of my *Malachit Trakehner mare. A select few other stallions, WB, APHA, Arabian, Shagya, ASB, Iberian... depending on the mare.
The thing is, Santa, that I lost my Big Bay Broodmare Extraordinaire(tm) this fall. She is IRREPLACEABLE. But as my program grows, matures and develops, I know there *could* be another grand mare out there who needs me.
Soundness is not necessarily an issue. Soundness for Walk lessons is helpful. Expensive maintenence (special shoes, joint injections) probably aren't for us. Nutraceuticals, weekly trims, or things that take TIME rather than gobs of cash are things we can do well.
Pinto is my favorite, but this isn't just for me. Dilutes are cool too... but this isn't just for me. :p
I'm completely open at this point to everything from ASB to Zwiebruken. Azteca to Wb. And almost everything in between, with the exception of Appaloosa, because while I am terribly fond of them, I think it's a disservice to breed a pintaloosa, and both MY boys are spotty in the Tobi way, not the Appy way. :D
I breed baroque sporthorses, mainly for dressage. I hope in this coming decade to focus much more on providing COMPETITIVE mounts for Para-Equestrians as well as Joe Blow Average American working 60+ hrs. a week who can't mortgage their house to buy a horse.
Currently my lines are ArabX and TrakehnerX. I would ADORE the right Trak mare, but am not sure those come more than once in a lifetime.
I also have an APHA mare who I'm using for Aztecas. I LOFF APHAs and Pintos.
Connemara, Welsh and TB... ASB & Morgan can all fit into my program and have registerable offspring. Baroque type and movement is the goal... easy gaits to ride while still being competitive. Backs like buttah.
So, Santa... I know I haven't been perfect this year, but I have tried awfully hard.
Shipping in winter even locally is iffy (had to cancel LOCAL lessons today--roads too icy to trailer in) so I wouldn't plan on being able to get any wonderful girl until late Spring.
I'm in the Northest-eastest of the Northeast, and gas prices are still pretty ridiculous, so distance and shipping IS a factor. I *am* going to KY in the fall of next year for the WEG, and will have a trailer with me...
I can provide a lifetime home, with the promise that a mare will never, ever be sold on. Returned if needed... but otherwise, provided for and ultimately laid to rest beneath the giant Ash tree...
References available. ;)
Thanks Santa. The cookies will be in the cupboard, and sorry about not having milk this year to go with them, but the IttyBitties would get to it loooong before you.... :uhoh: :D

Olivia is an unpapered Fleetwood Mac daughter. Good size, a nice mover, is approx 15 yrs old now. She had a foal while at Centenary College by a Dutch stallion, I believe? That was apparently pretty nice. I've just got too many horses now, was going to breed her myself, but was given a nice little tb yearling, so I'm all set on babies for awhile! So someone else might as well have the opportunity, if they want it!

Still offering: straight free lease or (now) swap lease--13.1h TBx Chelsea's Christian. This is a mare with a pretty unique family.
For HUNTER BREEDING: she is full sister to Chelsea's Rennaissance, dam of res. ch. Best Young Pony at Devon, 2009; she is also full sister to I Don't Know, AHSA(USEF) National Champion s/m greens, 2000; she is also half sister to Karacter (1995 major winner in the small division) and Yet Another Karacter (FL State Champion, s/m greens, 4th u/s at the Pony Finals, 15th overall, HITS Ocala res. circuit champion, champion in his first THREE shows in the regular small division, etc., etc.).
For SPORTPONY breeding: she is 3/4 sister to Pan Am Gold Medalist and USEF overall HOTY Theodore O'Connor; she is the dam of Proven Theory, a successful eventing and jumper pony; and as I've rolled the dice and have a yearling out of her by the sire of 2008 Bronze Medal winner and current European Eventing Champion Miner's Frolic, someone producing a foal out of her could share an intriguing bit of possibilities in the future for that cross; her five-year-old is my current major project for the show ring and could also contribute to her looking good "on paper."
Chrissy is a super sweet, super easy keeping mare, absolutely self-sufficient. She's ten and I can't remember a single vet bill on her other than routine stuff. Not one. She si currently in foal to Land's End The Colonel's Fox, a foal I would retain but which would not prevent me from loaning her to someone for her breed back.
Meanwhile, I'm looking for a 12.2-13.1h purebred Welsh broodmare (to breed to Chrissy's 3/4 brother Kevlar).

Very nice 16+ TB Mare....chestnut. Never raced due to early injury, but sound now. Could be ridden, beautful movement, but she has never had alot of time under saddle. She has a great personality and is very easy to work around. Has produced 3 foals - the oldest will begin racing this spring. We have her youngest, a weanling, at our farm now. Produces very nice, big, correct and smart foals. She was not bred this last season - we prefer to give our mares a year off in between foals. She is open and ready to go in 2010. I am very, very tempted to breed her myself this coming year, but as our farm is full and getting fuller all the time, I am trying to resist the temptation. She is an A++ cross with many TB stallions if breeding to race, but she would also make a very nice cross for sporthorse breeding. Her foals are athletic, quick and big. She was bred the first time to Buckle Down Ben, then bred to Say Florida Sandy. The Say Florida Sandy colt was so desirable, she was immediately bred back to him again. We have the Say Florida Sandy filly at this time. She's a keeper:)
Bloodlines include Mr. Prospector, Northern Dancer, Bold Ruler and Buckpasser.
She is available for free lease, however, references are a must. Would prefer if she was in a reasonable driving distance of Grantville, PA. Extremely easy keeper. Gets in foal easily, carries with no problem, foals easily, and is an excellent mother. We have had absolutely no problems with her and hate to part with her.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like pictures.

I have more wonderful mares than I can breed. Here is the deal... Free leasing of one of my mares, but she must be kept here and foaled by "The Foaling Barn". They deliver all of my mares. Also, must use my vet for breeding. AI only. Owner gets final approval on choice of stallion, as he must be approved.
Excellent mares available:
Nationale: 1998 HOL mare, premium. Approved AHHA and ISR/ONA. (Capitol Hill/May I Rule) Winner of Level 5 jumper at HITS Ocala. Curcuit champ Level 3 HITS Ocala. Has had one foal, Rivella, premium, now in Utah. Winner of several championships at Arizona circuit.
Niobium: 1995 KWPN-NA premium mare. (Idocus/May I Rule) Approved Dutch and AHHA. Has had 2 foals, Rivendell and Rivon, both premium. Has shown dressage through 3rd level championships. Also has shown children's hunter.Surprisingly good at that!
Send me a message if you are interested.

I'm going to need to cut back in 2010, and am offering two TB mares for free breed lease. They can stay here and you just pay boarding (~200-$250 a month, its just feed costs, and that varies), or can go to your facility if it is safe, and within a four hour drive (I'm in Placerville, CA).
Both mares are currently in foal, they both caught first try this year, and I have biopsy reports on both, they are both IIA's, and both have Caslicks in (the farm they came from does that for all their mares...). Neither are riding sound (not due to breakdowns on the racetrack, both mares are unraced, freak accidents).
First is Queen Tyree (Huckster xx/ Riverman xx/ Nashua xx), or "Trea". She's a 1998 bay mare with a star. Bigger in type, nice bone. Jockey Club registered. Really a sweet, sweet mare. Produces substantial offspring with SUPER minds, I can send you photos and a couple videos if you email me. Produced one winner on the track, the others have gone onto be nice sporthorses with great jumps. Trea is about 16.2 hands. Has good hooves. Lives fairly well in a herd environment, I don't put her in with super-dominant horses though, as I'm afraid she'd just get too beat up. Still needs to be presented to a registry for approval, she's in foal to Redwine for 2010, and I was planning to present her to GOV with the foal... but if someone really wanted to go with ISR/OLD instead, that might be negotiable. I'll pay for her Inspection... any other registry you would need to pay for. This truely is a super mare, a great find for sporthorse breeding. Had a pelvic fracture as a two year old. Healed fine, and has had five foals with absolutly no problems. Hence the 'divet' you see on her right hip area. She is due to foal May 18, 2010. She's due to foal June 11, 2010.

Kate's Unique (Pembroke xx/ Prove Out xx/ Turn-To xx) is a lovely chestnut mare, also with awesome bloodlines. Sweet as can be. Around 16.1 hands, Jockey Club registered, and entered into the MMB of OLD/NA. Great hunter type, produces beautiful offspring. Gets along fine in a herd, but I don't like putting her in with very dominant horses either. Gorgeous head, I have some photos of her offspring available too.... produces very leggy foals from what I've seen.

Basically I'm not likely going to be able to breed them next year, and I would like for them both to have a job. I would pay for their feed & upkeep until the 2010 foals are weaned, then they could move to your facility, or you take over their upkeep costs. I usually wean at about 5 months, depending. I can trailer them to UC Davis, Pioneer, or Loomis Basin if you'd like to have them bred at any of those places... they are near me. I can get breeding records together if you'd like. Like I mentioned above, both took first try this year. I use Oxytocin as a standard protocal on all mares. I had a breeding soundness exam done on Katie before I got her this Spring, and would be more than happy to share that with anyone interested. I got Trea without having that done. Kate's last foal was born in February 2009, Trea's last foal was in Spring 2007.

Dec. 29, 2009, 09:59 PM
Due to my desire to concentrate on performance, I will not be breeding my Riva next year.
Therefore, I am offering her for free breeding lease - on-farm only.
She is by Rampal out of a TB. Full pedigree here: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/riva30
KWPN-NA, dark bay, 16h, coming 12yo.
She has had two fantastic foals to date. Both ribboned at DAD while sucklings. The filly has been sold, but the colt is still here to be my future show horse. Both have very correct conformation with great temperaments. Riva is currently in foal to Contango for an April foal. Photos of the foals available.
Please contact me if interested.

Hopefully I am replying to the Moderator.
Wondered if there will be a 2010 Broodmare Leasing Thread? So many of us don't have to sift through all the 2009 ones?
Just a question/suggestion only.
Thanks for such a great forum!!!

I've got a few I would rather free lease than sell as I am rather attached.
Altona Marsh 16.1 hand bay, short coupled, no foals yet. Lovely mover, great cross for warmbloods.
Gleaming Valay 16.1 hand gray, has had 6 foals, all that raced are winners, one stakes placed runner of $80k plus. Gorgeous foals!
Star Anise 15.2 hand dark bay, has had three foals, they run on the small side, cute and typey, so a better pony broodmare prospect
Royal Plunder 15.1 hand bay, maiden, broke her foot and never became sound. Perfect bloodlines for warmblood crosses
Painted Holly 16.1 hand chestnut, stakes placed earner of $68k+, has had 4 foals, 2 to race one winner. They are lovely movers and will make nice show horses, my two are heading to the show ring.

We are offering a free breeding 2010+ lease on our lovely Trakehner mare.
We would require that insurance be kept (to protect everyone), that she be ATTENDED during foaling or sent to a foaling facility, no live cover (only AI/Shipped).
Belen is a 16.2hh big bodied "oldie" type but still very elegant, lofty and big mover! She was used for eventing/dressage until a pasture incident left her unsound for riding but she doesn't require any extra maintenance.
She is a WONDERFUL mother! Even took on an orphan and raised 2 alongside with great ease! Should be a fantastic nurse mare! She is also a proven COLOR producer!
She is by Libikus (Kaspareit) and a mare by Pregelstrand (Morgenglanz) View her extended pedigree at: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/belen4
Or visit: http://rugbycreeksporthorses.com/belen.htm (hasn't been updated recently - she is open currently (on purpose) and ready for the 2010 season!
We can arrange delivery as we also offer commercial equine transport.
Please let us know if you have any questions! Happy New Year to All!

We have a mare that came into our rescue program that would make a great Recipient mare if anyone is needing a sweet, sound, easy good mom to raise that special baby for you.
"Nora" is a gorgeous and SWEET 9 y/o big bodied, 16-16.1 hh Friesian/Lusitano cross mare. She has had 2 foals prior with no issues and was a great mom. Has nice manners, no vices and is good with the vet in all aspects. Nora suffered a pasture accident which left the right side of her face with paralysis from the poll to lip and resulting in having her right eye removed - however she is pain free, LOVES life and attention and is an easy keeper as broodmares go who is sound and gets along well in the herd. Just thinking of good options for her life as she is not rideable and not registered so thought I would put the option out there. :)
She is very special and deserves the absolute best of care (we would be VERY careful where she went).
This mare is quite lovely herself - can email pictures to anyone interested in more info. email us directly at info@rugbycreek.com
