I am looking at a filly whose grand sire is Anriejetto, a Dutch WB who used to stand at Cornell. I'm not familiar with him. Anything you could tell me would be appreciated! Does anyone have his offspring? This filly would be an eventing prospect. Thanks!

Grey KWPN stallion from quite a while back. Sired some hunters mostly if I remember right and maybe a few event horses.

I remember getting a stallion video for him years and years ago. Big mover and a really wonderful looking horse and very well promoted. If you do a Google search, I'm sure you'll come up with some offspring.

Ah, yes. Gorgeous gray stallion. He was on my short list to breed to WAY back when.
Dottie Morkis owned and rode him til she gave him to Cornell. Seems he could be a handful at times. But so can many stallions.
Lovely mover. Haven't seen any of his offspring. But would like to.
I still have video of him from many years ago if you would like to see it. I can probably find some time to upload it.

He was a beautiful horse: lovely phenotype. His offspring in the mid-Atlantic area seemed to be all over the place in type: some very refined and some very coarse and clunky. Everything I saw was from similar type thoroughbred mares so my guess is that he did not provide predictable genotype.

Beautiful mover, won 4 times at Devon, quite an accomplishment. His legs were his downfall as they looked like milk bottles and not at all attractive.

Yeah, I always understood you needed a very correct mare if you used him, but he apparently had alot to offer.

I had a colt by him out of my Gold Apollo mare. Super quiet temperament--one of the best I have had. I only had him until 7 months-sold him. I think he ended up big and average build.
The stallion had amazing movement--a bit coarse overall but smoothly put together. I honestly don't remember the legs being bad--stallion definitely moved straight--colt was correct but then so was the mare.

Several people that were there to see him at Devon told me the big reason for his wins at Devon was his rhythm in the trot. His movement was more like a TB with incredible rhythm, not the big suspension and elasticity we see winning today. I also have a video of him somewhere.
I saw him late in life, and, yes, all of his legs were pretty stovepiped. My thought was he had probably suffered many ligament and tendon injuries. My friend that handled him for a few months said even in his older years, he was pretty hot to handle, but a lot of showing in hand tends to do that.

Where have the years gone? when you all talk of him like it was ions ago, I remember like yesterday when he won at Devon and he was a lovely mover. Think he was a tb cross himself. Is that correct or am I mistaken?
Interesting to see his name come up...but that was not forever ago folks...that was JUST YESTERDAY.... ha ha

Here is his pedigree: http://www.paardenfokken.nl/pedigree.php?horseid=68857
He was a TB cross (Afrikaner xx) with a Gelderlander mare base, thus 1/2 Gelderlander. He must have been imported to the US fairly early in his career as I did not find offspring listed on the paardenfokken database.

Well, I can't seem to find his video. It's an old VHS tape and it may have gotten finally tossed - or stored away with a bunch of others. I will keep looking.

My mare is by Anriejetto out of a KWPN-approved TB mare. She was my A/A hunter until I had to retire her due to injury. She has a ton of personality, and is very "look at me" which I understand was very consistent with Anriejetto's personality. Her movement was very correct with the huge floaty trot and a lovely canter as well. She was very good with her front end over fences, but we were working on getting her to use her back more o/f before I had to retire her. We had some issues with her feet, so look closely at the feet and legs on the one you are looking at. She was not what anyone would call "easy", but she was eager to please, very happy being a working a/a's horse (she never held my mistakes against me!), and is to this day a very endearing in your pocket type of personality. The challenge with her was mixing things up enough that her very active brain did not anticipate and think she already knew what to do and didn't need to listen

Thanks again! He sounds lovely. This filly is too. I think I'm going to go for it . I have a good feeling about her.
Madison- your mare is beautiful! I hope my girl grows up to be just like her!

Thanks! I'd take another one just like her in a heartbeat! Though I really would have appreciated it if my mare hadn't taken her retirement so seriously and refused to get pregnant :sigh:

There is a KWPN Keur Mare by Anriejetto listed on dreamhorse for sale or free breeding lease.

Get an old copy of the Chronicle stallion issue. We all save them.
He was a 3 or 4 time winner at Devon before he was sent to Cornell.
Beautiful pix of him in the Chronicle ads each year.

Hey, I finally found my old vhs tape that has Anriejetto on it. I have captured the footage and am uploading to YouTube now. I'll post the direct link when it finishes uploading.

For several years, I boarded at a barn where an international level dressage rider had a beautiful son of Anriejetto who had breathtaking movement. He never got to compete because he was always lame or being rehabed from being lame. His owner loved him and was so taken with the horses potential, that he kept investing time, care, and many thousands of dollars in diagnostics and treatments. He seemed to have too much movement and spirit for his body. He was recovering from treatment on a high splint on his left fore when I left there. He also had allergies. He couldn't be given immunizations because he had a severe reaction. I don't know what his mare line was and how much the mare contributed. I heard that he was either given or sold for very little money to someone who would care for him and not ask much of him.
