I am showing my greenie at a place called ashland farms feb 14 in the training level 1 and 2. Her name is Panda but i wanted to show her under something more flashy. She is about 15.3 black and white paint. Any ideas from the dressage world?

some that I have come up with...

-In Black and White
-Pandaemonium

I'm pretty good at finding nifty names for horses but need more info. Like your personality ,names of their sire/dam, the horses personality. I actually had a beautiful black Dutch colt w/4 white stockings and a huge white belly patch that I would have luved to call "PANDA' but we weren't in the "P" year for that name..So I actualy like that name. Your choice of "In Black and White" is very nice but extremely HUNTER-ish. Pandemonium sounds like TROUBLE, so I'd pass on that too  any pics ?

Just make sure if she already has a registered name with the USEF/USDF, that you go though the correct way of changing the name. Also, let the breeder know that you did it in case they are tracking points.
Nothing is harder on breeders than having owners change names and then we cant track offspring records for what was bred or the stallion offspring ratings, etc.

Otherwise, name game........ hummmm........

Kung Fu Panda? (sorry, I have kids...)
Pandai was actually a indian tribe.

If she fits the the name Panda, then leave it alone. And show her her with it.

I have a 4 yr old that came with the name Izadore, IMO it does not fit him. "It's A Pest" fits him better. 'Cause he is in trouble all the time. Perhaps in time he will grow up --by the time he's got two feet in the hole in the ground...........
He is a puzzle that I'm trying to put together, I have the trot most of the time. The walk is better than it was and we have no canter(under saddle) at this time. Patience, patience, patience......

I think Panda is a fantastic name as it goes with her markings. Who doesn't love a Panda. It's memorable...that's what people who show want the name to be. Plus it fits your horse.

As a former breeder of sporthorses, the naming process could become obsessive (but tons of fun).

Please, if you do change the name, let the breeder and/or stallion owner know. So many people don't, so we can't keep track of our offspring do in the show ring.

Sometimes you can make the name work for you. To this day, I remember a mare named Elvira (yuk name) who absolutely wowed the crowd doing a musical freestyle to the song "Elvira" by the Oakridge Boys. It may have been at Madison Square Garden. Perfect.

Something "formal", perhaps? Like "In Formal"
My daughter says Panda Paws or Fudge Swirl (ice cream) LOL
My mom suggests Bachelorette (her fav show)
My husband says Oreos and Milk - Geesh, I just fed them a while ago!

Let me think about it for a while, I am gonna go have ice cream...LOL
Have fun! We just renamed our gelding Orion, from RJ. Much cooler!

Hey cruise, we showed in intro last year but usually in the amoebia. We actually got champion in amoebia for gdcta seniors this year :D I was so proud, its been such a long and hard road. I don't know if will kick your butt we have a wicked canter that is getting better though  I don't remember your guy last year. He is very noticeable though, I keep an eye out for you. I'm so excited and ready for this show season!!! Chicopee has a wonderful show place also. This is just my boys 2nd year in dressage, we have been schooling 1st level and going to move up to it later this show season but not sure about the canter being good enough yet so have to test it out in some training first. Where do you keep your guy at and whos your trainer? We have ours at the house now, thank goodness  My trainer comes to us at least so that makes it easier. Shes great though!! I see your guy jumps, is there are reason your not doing the c/t?

I quite like Panda.

Or maybe you can have some fun with giving her a "last name" like

Panda Dancer
or
Panda Impersonator
or
Panda Medicine
or
Panda Medicine Woman

or whatever.

Enjoy the show! She is a lovely Medicine Hat paint, very special.

yah panda is a girl btw. Its been a long road for us too she was rescued from an impound in 2007 so i have ben working with her but i had to leave summer 08. I was in florida training and working on my position. I jump but Panda really isn't ready since we are in between trainers at the moment and she tends to run straight through the jumps if i'm not in the right mind so i really only like to jump when i have someone on the ground helping me. I want to school her cross country she hasnt seen any ct jumps in her life. her canter is a dream i take pride in her left lead actually i spent forever gettting her to pick it up and she just floats. now if that will happen on show day or not who knows. She is currently at a place called the silos in covington.

I'm from Covington but not sure where thats at. We are in Dacula now. My trainer is a wonderful trainer if your in between trainers right now and she comes to you, but I don't know if the farm lets outside trainers come where your at. I knew it was a girl but all mine are boys so its force of habit to say he  We will see you at Ashland.
