View Full Version : Can you suggest a ~REALLY~ snazzy dress sheet

What brand of dress sheet would you consider to be exceptionally snazzy, beautiful, well fitting, classy, etc. It can be any material, I don't care, any color. Don't care about cost, or how many straps it has, or anything like that. I'm totally open to suggestion, but the only thing is I have to be able to get it in a 69 or 70". So tell me what your favorites are! :)

The wool triple crown custom coolers are far and away my favorite:

Here's an idea of price and options:

My Blue Ribbon dress sheet looks just as amazing as a triple crown for a much more economical price.

I have one from http://www.integritylinens.com

It's very well-made, and it has held up beautifully.

My Blue Ribbon dress sheet looks just as amazing as a triple crown for a much more economical price.

When I priced the Blue Ribbons they were only $10 cheaper then the triple crowns...still are according to Dover. The Triple Crowns are $329 (http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-24222&ids=246394230&bhcd2=1231875186)and the Blue Ribbons are $319 (http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp?pn=X1-24446&ids=581949579) with no 'extras'. Do you have a cheaper source? I could use another dress sheet and have recently heard good things about the Blue Ribbons but hate to fork over another $300 right now.

I like the classic ones with nice elegant detailing.

I like my last cooler which had belly bands so that if the horse was left in his stall to finish wicking and lay down it would stay put and not twist and get torn (at those prices).

What I did not like was it was a dark colour and my horse was grey...

I have to second Integrity Linens. Their web "site" stinks - you're not getting the full picture until you actually see one in person and feel them. They are just, just gorgeous. But be advised, they are also not cheap.

I think as ar as "snazzy", you're going to get the prettiest plaids with integrity. I changed barns and my cooler is going to be pried out of my cold dead hands. It's so beautiful, I can't part with it. The clothes horse makes the highest quality overall by a long shot, thicker wool, but not as many eye catching plaids. Personalized Products also makes a nice grey herringbone that is really understated and beautiful. RGI makes really pretty sheets as well (including VXF's quarter sheet...drool) but I have never ordered one personally or had a chance to feel them.

Malvern Saddlery has the prettiest colour combinations I have seen. I got the brown plaid with rose pink accents for my daughter's mare as everyone thinks she is a gelding because she is rather big boned. Ours is wool and is made by Integrity and is beautifully finished.

The RGI sheets are gorgeous as well and you may design your own as they have dozens of body, trim and piping colors.

I know, but I don't care about that. Just looking for something REALLY nice that she'll be able to wear for years. :) I usually buy clothing thats on ridiculous clearance sales. My claim to fame was a brand new Rambo Protector with neck cover for 30 dollars!  And I got two Kensington Blue and Pink Plaids for less than $50 each. The tack shop here buys stuff and then if it doesn't sell, it goes on at least a 50% clearance sale after a couple months. I have gotten some screamin' good deals on blankets in the middle of summer. I got a Weatherbeeta Oricon Sheet for $19. And the cool think about local is no shipping! I got Masta fleece sheets from Horseloverz last year for $5 each! Ohhh, I even got a Back on Track $239 mesh sheet for $80 on clearance sale. It was the last one left in her size. So spending a little more on a dress sheet would just sort of even out. I keep looking for good deals on dress sheets but haven't seen any. I don't mind forking out the dough on one after all the $$$ I've saved on other blankets.

Horse clothes shopping is a sickness. But it's so fun!

You know, I love Triple Crown and Clothes Horse, but my first full-custom dress sheet is still my favorite. It's by Curvon, which manufactures the Baker blankets, so you know it's good quality. It's a lovely warm, plush wool that is so nice that, after my Fuzzy Horse died, I brought it into my bedroom and in fact I'm wrapped in it now. I think the wool is nicer than a lot of the Integrity sheets I've seen.

(The dress sheet I bought for Tip is also lovely, but I bought the sheet itself in Ireland for the equivalent of $40USD and had Narrow Gate Tack customize it with trim, piping, a hip ornament, and a monogram. I wish I could remember the manufacturer of the sheet because the wool is incredible.)

So far, I used it as a blanket while I watched TV. Will post photos when it is on an equid. Not sure how interested COTH readers are in seeing a photo of me wandering around the apartment in a purple robe looking like King (Queen?) Arthur

If my dress sheet were at home instead of in a trunk at the barn, it would be wrapped around me in front of the TV too. ;-)

camohn, that dress sheet cost more than

1) my saddle;
2) my wedding dress
3) the majority of other objects I own that aren't automobiles or real estate.

Dang. But very fancy, no doubt.

I felt bad about starting a whole new thread just to say I loved my new Techno-Fleece so I found a thread that discussed it and added a recommendation

I put it on an actual horse today and it looks and works great. Sadly, no photos- but I do have photos of a Morgan mare with gloves on her ears!

Personally, I find elegance and dressing with class to be highly overrated (as evidenced by what I look like at the barn).

However, when it comes to sheets, obviously I am not alone. :-)

I can see spending $$$ of a WOOL sheet. Some of the links to the $400 and up sheets were fleece. more than MAYBE $150 for fleece is just plain dumb.

Don't laugh but I thought my two Arabs (one black and one white) looked very cool in the zebra version. They also had zebra polo wraps. Gauche, but fun!

Of course they had the more traditional and staid navy and hunter color sheets and coolers for shows.
