Congratulations to Nancy Mincovsky! Nice job.
Did any of you realize that there are still two riders actively competing this year who began eventing BEFORE the USEA was founded in 1959? They are Denis Glaccum and Mary Alice Brown.
Congratulations to them, too. I hope they will be honored guests of the USEA at our 50th.

Denny, that is awesome about Mary Alice and Denis. Please remind me about a month before the annual meeting that we should invite them Thursday night to attend the Area II reception, too. I hope that I can help to plan that; I'm big on history and "what came before" making it possible for us today, and don't want to miss out on inviting anyone that had a hand in the early days. They should all be included.

I met Mary Alice Brown this year and what a nice and remarkable lady. Hope she and Denis will be at the convention next year for the 50th celebration. It will be really special.

Nancy did our farm logo, and she also did the TEAM logo for MI. I am so glad for her that she won this! She is a lovely person and Grasshopper (hophophop) is her lovely horse.
Yeah Nancy!

Someone needs to tell USEA that there isn't supposed to be a period after the "th" in "50th". (Yeah, I know... picky picky. ;))

Oh, dear, that's the first thing I noticed. I have a good excuse though:); I'm an editor. Otherwise, I like it.

no offense, but that's kind of disappointing. that is just the USEA logo with 50th anniversary added to it. granted, i did not submit anything, so i have little room to complain, but i would have thought there would have been something a little more unique for the 50th anniversary.

since the judging is done, are we allowed to show what we entered?
Here's what I did when I found out about it the day before the deadline - went a bit overboard, but I had some pent-up drop shadows and outer-glows that needed to get out! :)

Wow...that's REALLY good!....I have to say I agree with raave05 that the one they chose while nice...is very plain and not terribly creative.
Oh well.... guess they liked it...Congrats to the winner!

You do have the reality of the problem of not loosing any "brand identity" for the year you use a different logo. The value of a logo--any logo--is recognition. If a "50th" logo moves to far away from the original you not only aren't using the identity you spent good money to build up, but you are loose again next year when you go back to the old. So no, it's not some barn burning exciting new thing, but then it would be bad move if it was.
I like it, it's a good solution. It keeps the old, adds a message and neither the old or the temporary will be any worse for the wear.
