I'm trying this based on reviews I've read here. I just ordered from Uckele, but the shipping is $11 for a $17+ product!
How does everyone order this so you don't pay that much for shipping? Also, how long would a container last for two horses?
Thanks

I usually order enough where the shipping is free. You sure you don't need anything else? ;)
2 lbs of product is about 53 doses.

Uckele's shipping is pretty scary. I order 2 or 3 at a time for the same shipping cost. As to how long it lasts--for one horse, at one scoop a day, a container lasts me about 5 weeks, I think.
It is good stuff, though.

Thanks. I just ordered one since I was trying it out first. I suppose I should have ordered more.
If you feel comfy posting where you are (or even a general region) maybe you can form a "Uckele drop ship" group and get a $150 order together :D

Big Dee's carries Uckele, but not the Tri-Amino. I haven't *asked*. I wonder if we asked--or if enough of us asked, if they would? It is FAR cheaper for me to get CocoSoya or other Uckele products shipped by Big Dee's.
There are retailers who carry Uckele... *finding* them... well... "uhoh:

And this may be the ONLY compelling reason to live in Michigan, home of the Uckele headquarters and factory. Too bad everything else here is a mess!

Great, thanks EqTrainer.
Does anyone know if it benefits younger and older horses alike..or is age not an issue?

 Yup. I just wish they had more "expos" throughout the year where Uckele sells their products. I know folks who go to the Expos just to buy 6 months worth of supplements! The $8 - $12 entrance fee isn't always cheaper than shipping - but they get to see other stuff too.

Amino acids are age-independent in the benefits. The issue becomes how much they need related to age, weight, and work.
Mostly I'd say it probably boils down to work more than age, as the generic 1000lb pasture puff on free choice hay/grass probably gets enough lysine to just maintain that lifestyle. But, "pasture puff" does not include the horse who is not worked, is turned out 24x7 with free choice hay/grass, has a high(er) metabolism, and is quite active in the field ;)

I think SmartPak carries some of the Uckele products and they have a flat rate shipping of $7.95. I'm not sure if they have the TriAmino, but maybe if enough people requested it they would carry it.

I filled it out! For Tri-amino, as well as the single-ingredient supps. I think they should really look at the single item supps bc they don't have anything comparable to those... and I said as much, so hopefully if everyone else does too we can do away with the usurious shipping! Go COTH :)

Perhaps they might offer a special "EqTrainer SmartPak" that rotated supplements with the seasons?

he,he... keeping this bumped, I just filled out the SmartPak request... maybe if we ALL do, they'll get the idea.
They already have a relationship with Uckele (whom I strongly, strongly suspect is the supplier of their proprietory blend SmartVites... ) with the CocoSoya Ultra... Maybe we'll get lucky?

I wish I could afford $150 worth of products right now! I think it stinks that it costs so much for shipping. I would love to use more of their products.

Once you get on their mailing list, Uckele also has occasional sales where shipping is half price (yeah, big sale... but better than nothing!).

So I am thinking that maybe the reason SP doesn't carry TriAmino but does carry other Uckele products is that they're making a smartamino. It especially makes sense if Uckele does indeed mfg their smartvite supps. They have 2 muscle supps already, but the muscle mass one doesn't contain the higher levels of lysine, therionine, and methionine as triamino, and the stamina one doesn't contain lysine at all. Anyone have any thoughts about that?

Me too ... 25 minutes away ... I went to Open house and spoke directly w/ them .. started one horse on their Cell Mass ... in 3 weeks, he has gained about 60 lbs !! Seriuosly! I have had to cut feed .. !

Is the product called that? I couldn't find it on their site

Sorry for the confusion - there isn't a product called that. There's smart muscle mass and smart muscle stamina. Neither of these 2 is 100% comparable to triamino, with mass being the closer of the 2.
I know smartpak has to know of the love for triamino on this board, so my theory is that they're developing a similar product, because since they already carry some uckele products there probably wouldn't be a problem with their carrying it, except for not wanting to create competition if they're about to release an in-house product that is really similar. No factual basis for this at all - just a hunch. What do you think??

our local tack shop didn't stock it but ordered it for me and i didn't have to pay the shipping fee. i did have to wait for it a week or 10 days but no shipping so if you plan in advance it's not so bad.

my mare was eating tri-amino w/o any issues. but then i tried foxden's products on her and she wouldn't even touch her food. i learned from that experience and now if trying a new supplement i get a small amount first realizing that she may have different plans for us ;)

Maybe call around your local feed stores and tack shops to see if anyone carries their products and get in on their next order. I just had phenomenal luck and my local feedstore started carrying their products. I placed my order through them for two Tri-Aminos and some other stuff. I paid .10-.15 over what the prices are on the Uckele website. LOVE IT:D

Based on the this thread (and I think one other), I decided to try Uckele's TriAmino for my TB mare, who is a very hard keeper. She was already getting CocoSoya Oil for weight management but the issue was that she would build and lose muscle very quickly. And I had pretty much given up on her having a full topline, even though she works nicely over her back. So, I figured for $20, it was worth it to try the product and see if I noticed a change.
Holy COW!! Within a couple of weeks, I noticed a change. My mare always had a lovely shape to her topline, but the muslces just weren't "puffy" (for lack of a better term). I figured, she was never going to look like a WB with flat back, let alone a crease down her back. Well, thanks to TriAmino, we're getting there!
I can honestly say that the only thing I've changed in her regiment is adding the TriAmino. I'm THRILLED with this product and highly recommend it for anyone looking to help their horse build topline muscle. Once her coat sheds for spring, I'll do my best to get photos of her. She looks the best she ever has coming out of winter. Yay!
Thank you for your discussion on this product! I'm so pleased with it (and so is my pocketbook). :)

Yes, SmartPak carries Tri-Amino; in fact, they will send you 3 trial doses so you can assess if your horse will eat the stuff before you purchase...picky Rasta ate it right up! so we ordered....:D
