I have 3 mares that have came here in the last few months.

We have to open up room for foaling season, and they need to find great homes.

2 of these mares should be breedable, and both have good conformation. Both made some money on the track, one made $50,000+

I will give 1 breeding away (to Grande Leviticus) with the above two mares. Both mares need to go together, as they have been together for many years (they are very happy together)... Their reg. names are Double Blaze, and Little Tips. The stud fee is free, the only thing you would have to cover is collection/shipping costs to get the semen to you. If you decided not to use this breeding on these girls, it could be used on any (approved) mare. These have MANY years left, and are easy keepers.

They need to leave as soon as possible.

The third mare is a gorgeous gray mare that has been retired from breeding, and will make an exceptional companion. She is not sound for real riding (who knows, though not in pain really).. But she may (in a few months) be able to have a little kid do lead line on her. That would be the ONLY thing I would say she could do. I have not ridden her, but she is very quiet, and easy to get along with. She does have melanoma, though still active and with treatment, should reduce in size. We have not had this mare long, and basically had it in mind that we would search for a great home for her when we got her!

She is a sweet heart too! Her reg. name is Maid In Dixie.

This is a picture of the stallion, who I will give a breeding to--

The grey mare has found a home and will be coming home this week. I'm hoping my current mare will take to her and finally have a pasture buddy, she tends to "eat" anyone I put with her.

Don't worry, I wont let Star do any damage to Dixie. Star loves to play and groom as long as there's a fence line. I'll take it slow and let them look at each other and eventually get to know each other over the fence.

I've got a big "senior" pasture with 2 old guys who get along with everyone, infact they run and hide from everyone! They do like the girls so Dixie may end up with them.

Can't wait to meet her and you on Fri.

Dixie made it home safely. She fell asleep in the trailer so I stopped for 1/2 hour and let her rest her legs.
She had a warm bed and a hot bran mash waiting for her.

She's just darling and finally felt good enough today to take a good look at her surroundings.

The girls were talking to each other over the fences and the boys are all staring at the new girl.

She's eating everything put in front of her, 4 meals a day. My SO trimmed her feet and that seemed to help her "lameness" a lot.

The vet will be here Thurs. to check teeth and give shots, etc., and take a look at the melanomas.
We'll do the best for her that we can. She's found her "forever" home.

Yeah, one of those ankles looked to be the issue with her lameness. But who knows.. I just had her for a short time, and never really investigated it (she was just a bit gimpy, not really in pain).. just fed her a lot to make her gain weight! :D She gained at least 50-80 lbs while she was here, and looked a LOT better when she left! She is a sweetheart, that is for sure!!

Glad that she is with you, and can't wait for update pics down the road!

All of these great ladies have found SUPER homes!!

They are all tucked in for the night at them! :D

Couldn't have wished for better places for these ladies to end up!

Thank you for Dixie. She's just a darling, sweet old gal.

Had the vet out, did teeth, shots, all the necesary stuff. She's gobbling up her bucket 3 x's a day.
She had a little buck yesterday, cute as can be. She loves her "house" and sleeps in it every night.

And the best part of all - Star actually likes her! I can't believe it! It's taken me 1 1/2 years to find a buddy for my crotchety old broodie. They "talk" to each other and spend a few hours each day eating from a round bale together. Not together at night yet. I still want to be able to keep my eye on the "Witch", and Dixie needs time to finish her bucket.

Dixie took the "scenic" route to reach me but I'm glad she did.
