I just found out that 2 of my stallion's offspring were shown at the VHSA Associate Hunter Champion Show at Lexington, VA, and in a class of 34 (3' fences), they were 1st and 2nd! I am pretty sure their owners don't know each other, or that they are paternal half-siblings.
Here is one of them http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/orderpage.aspx?pi=04SQ00VZ690003&po=3
Unfortunately the photographer didn't get any of the other. :(

Awesome looking horse, and is that a child riding him? Who is the stallion, and what is the colt's name?

I have a coming 2 year old gelding by your stallion, Nevada.
He is going to be a very fancy boy and he knows it.

To owners: if you know your horse's sire and you are having success in the ring, let the stallion owner know. A simple Email to a website or a phone call will be greatly appreciated by the SO.

Thanks everyone. This discovery came about because of a thread about stallion owners, and trying to find those "lost offspring" and what they are doing. It motivated me to do some more digging, and found this show. To find them placing 1 and 2 in a class that size is for me just wow! I can't imagine! OK, so maybe not the Olympics, but for someone with a small breeding program that bred their stallion and his mom, this is just so cool!
It is so hard to keep track of my boys offspring. They get name changes, owner and trainer changes. New ID numbers, and are just gone. People lose the sire information. <sigh> I have always believed so much in my boy, but it is just a dream come true to see the babies developing to show who they are.
I can tell you it is the high point of my day to find one, get some photos, or hear how they are doing. Caitlynsmom, great to hear from you, and I would LOVE to get updates on your baby! I hope he develops just wonderfully for you!

The class winner was Denny, ridden by Meg Graham, and owned by Kathy Danielson.
The 2nd place horse was Unbridled Time, owned and ridden by Erin Grampp. I know Erin has been showing him all summer as he is the 2008 VHSA Working Hunter year end Champion, but I have not found any photos of him. Not sure what photographers were at any of his shows, but would love to find some!

That would be awesome! Please send them to fairviewhorsectr@aol.com and please send me your list of print and usage fees too - THANKS!
I did find one of Unbridled Time in Denny's group. (At least I think it is him, matching markings from a yearling shot I have.) Cool having both together. http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/orderpage.aspx?pi=04SQ00VZ690019&po=19

Wow! that is wonderful!!! The second picture you posted looks like the horse in the first picture? And getting first, so maybe Denny?
Definitely bragging rights - lovely horse, happy rider, great results - lots to crow about!

The 1st place horse in the second photos is Denny, but I believe that is Unbridled Time just behind him. The markings are similar, not exact, but the photo I have was taken as a yearling.

Unbridled Time's owner just sent me some photos of her boy, who is again at the top of the VHSA Associates Working Hunter, and I believe 4th on the VHSA Regular Pre-Green Points list.
The first is of Unbridled Time, owned, ridden and bred by Erin Grampp
The second is of Denny, owned by Kathy Danielson, Ridden by Meg Graham (bred by me :D)
The third is the proud pappa

Congratulations! You have always been a source of knowlegeable and sensible posts on this board.
It is a shame that the breeders, bloodlines and records of a horse do not follow him throughout his life. It does not seem like rocket science to have the info on his passport, and on a data base available to announcers, jurnalists, breeders, etc. Even though owners, names, etc. change, the original info should remain accessible. Credit where credit is due.
It also is amazing that when asked, so many people know nothing about their horse's background or breeding.

This is why we really need a database, and the one number system for tracking. It is so hard to find these horses, and results. They go thru owner changes, name changes, and get new numbers. I don't think people have any idea of how important it is to breeders, and stallion owners to let them know how the offspring are doing.

It is MUCH safer that way, because once you get started breeding, it is very much an addiction.
