I'm sick of the black GR8s too. I wanted to get a cool colored CO Hampton to show in the jumpers in. Like a dark blue, brown, or grey. But I LOVE my black show jackets and still like to show in my show clothes when I do the jumpers. So I think I would look silly with a different colored helmet and then a black jacket :(.

anyone see the thread on the new CO helmet? i think it was called the AYR8 or something. it looks kinda like a hybrid of a GR8 and a GPA. maybe that will become trendy this winter, but i'll be sticking to my hampton :)

i used to do jumpers in the black/silver GR8. i thought it looked like i was that bear from that movie Uncle Buck (i think) who got shot in the top of the head & was bald just up the center of his head. :D not that it's ugly or anything, i just go sick of it & that's what it reminded me of. now i have a black on black and i think it's pretty classy looking.
i do wanna see this AYR8 though...

There ARE no fashion trends... it's call continious basics that have no offest trends.
Going to Mansion on South Beach is what you should be talking about as far as "trendy for '09!

I like the CO GR8 black on black or charcoal on black. I really don't like the GPA with all of the vents on it...especially in the hunters. It's OK for the jumpers. They just look like a bike helmet to me.

I'm interested in knowing what the new trends will be since I haven't bought any show clothes in a while and will need to know for this up coming season.
My husband is going to KILL me when he sees the price tags/invoices.

Dont think its a trend, more just the fact that they r super comfy. Tons of people wearing the "euro seat" breeches. Light weight long sleeved collared shirts....functional and traditional is what people seem to be wearing.

I definitely think the Euro Seat Breeches are going to become even more popular. I love them and really want a pair.

Oh yeah! it could be that. but the bear had like an old shooting injury that made him bald and then maybe the shot int eh but was like the final bit of hilarity at the end of the movie? i can't remember, but for some reason my black and silver GR8 just always reminded me of that bald bear.:) it was like a mental block i had.

Euroseat is not a trend...very comfy to wear all day, riding or just in the barn. I thought they looked dumb the first time I saw them. Now I own 4 pairs of the TS trophy hunter. Call me trendy i guess...

how about the big sun visors? I saw some around new england last summer. Anyone know where you can buy them?

Love, love, love those sun visors. Totally a Northern trend, as, when I returned to the South after my summer job in NJ, I was laughed at, but I don't care - they're great! They are made by Cashel and I bought mine at Beval's.

Are people showing in them or just wearing them for schooling?

I've seen people showing in them. The Euro seat is very subtle

What about coat colors? I have not shown in about a year and a half. I still fit in my coats from my junior years but that was ages ago. I thought I would splurge on a really nice, trendy new show coat. (Horse is chestnut and I do the hunters)
Thanks

Those are all over WEF every year (at least the past two years I have been down here). So if it's a Northerner thing they are bringing it South for the winter!

I absolutely ADORE the brown/brown CO GR8s, too bad my head is most definitely a round GPA head and not an oval CO head. I do however have a brown GPA that I adore, and a velvet one for showing that I think looks really classy.

My personal favorite is navy- you can never go wrong! I love gray jackets for the hunters as well- I know Grand Prix makes beautiful gray jackets with subtle light pink, lilac, and light blue windowpane. RJ Classics and Grand Prix make a lot of jackets with cute variations like piping on the collar, or pretty lining on the inside!
go to rj classics the collection online..robin has beautiful jackets, breeches and shirts for ridiculous prices..i just had to order some bigger sizes as my assets have gotten bigger..and not my bank account..love it! not the fat part but the cheap part

What do the eur seat britches look like
They look like full seat breeches except the portion that is normally goat skin or leather or synthetic leather is the same fabric as the rest of the breech, but there is a seam "outlining" the full seat area, if that makes sense.
The Euro seat is not a trend, Eurostar and Pikeur have made them for years, I know because I have some that are quite old. Maybe US riders have only recently discovered them. And while I like them very much I don't notice that they are any more or less comfortable than regular breeches.

Does anyone know if there will be any GPA Speed Airs shipped to the US in the next 6 months?
I've have my current helmet for about 4 years, and i need to start thinking about a new one.

I got mine at Dover in Wellesley, MA not too long ago- maybe give them a call? At the time they were the only place that had the black/black. My friend actually just ordered hers from Europe and she said it took much less time to get here than usual!

my husband has a IRH. It looks ok. I think the more jumper-y helmets look the best on men even if they are in the hunter ring.

Personally I think guys should stick to GPA's... NO GR8s on the men, please ;)
Black on black is nice or the black with the grey-ish black-ish shiny stripe

Just as a note I LOVE my Grand Prix jacket. It's a darker gray with slight pink pinstripes that you can hardly see. Obviously I do hunters:D
Also curious, what do people think of the Taupe jackets that have the teal pinstripes I don't particularly care for taupe so I don't like them but I saw a lot of girls wearing them even for Equitation! This was last year or the year before so maybe they are going out....(Sorry to any one who does own one I'm just not a big fan!

I like the lighter color taupe jackets but I do think they are on their way out. They always look so nice in summer on a light colored chestnut.

can anyone tell me if the TS supreme hunters (along with any of their regular ones, like the royals, etc. even though i only wear the supremes) are more of a true rust than the schoolies are? the schooling breeches TS makes are practically pumpkin colored. i am ordering a pair of supremes in rust, and i'm a little afraid that they might not be quite as red as i'd like! i feel like i remember seeing them as more of a red once on a tack site but i cant find that picture anymore... i just bought this Grand Prix coat on ebay to go with it, and it won't look nearly as nice if I'm wearing pumpkin breeches!

For some reason I thought the rust TS supremes were more like the old rust color - which is not a pumpkin color - but they don't come in low rise - i think only in the regular higher waist - is that correct?

idc if its only in the regular rise.. i always buy my supremes in regular. its funny because i always hear everyone saying that their regular rise might as well be a shelf bra, but i'm only 5' tall and the regular only comes up to about right over my belly button! and i have a short torso..so weird. lol. i hate low rise!
