Thoughts?-Are they cheap, itchy, comfortable, stretchy, stiff, good, etc?
They're on sale right now in Dover so I was thinking of picking up a pair before the show seasons starts. I was also wondering if there is really a big difference between low-rise and and the regular fit? I've never gotten any fit besides regular, and am not sure if the low rise would be a little, well, inproper in the ring (I know how ridiculous that sounds , but just wanting to make sure. ;))
I was very excited when I found them. I think it's always a great accomplishment to find full seat's less than 70 bucks.

I have several friends who show in low rise, and it is perfectly acceptable so long as they look neat and fit well. I will caution that if you have any "extra," that low rise sometimes is not the most flattering, but not all low rise breeches are created equal. Some I can wear and some but some just don't work for my 35 year old body.
I've not tried Riding Sport breeches, but I did order a couple of their technical event/show shirts this summer, and they ran super small. So you might want to ask if the breeches run the same way so you can order accordingly.

They aren't itchy or stiff. I find them to be pretty comfortable. The only downside, and I ride in them every day, is that they typically don't last longer than six months. I may just be abusive though. I just have the regular ones and not the low rise, but I really like these breeches! They aren't too hot in the summer and while they aren't warm or anything, you don't freeze in the winter with them.

Thanks flypony, now I'll know to ask. Speaking of which, I should probably find a pair of my old jods that fit and look at the size since I have no idea what it is, even though most of the sizes on my pants have washed off.
Octavian, do you think that you would rather the low rise or are you happy with the regular fit? Maybe I should just go to the tack store and try a pair on to see what I like better before ordering...:sigh:

I have a pair and like them quite a bit. However, DON'T DRY THEM!!!! Mine have shrunk up quite a bit, and only after one accidental drying. I would definitely buy more as they are a nice price.

I just bought a par today at Dover. I have others that I have had for a while and really like them. Don't know about the low rise since I don't like low rise. I have the regular fit.

I'm happy with the regular fit, but I've never tried a pair of low rise riding pants before, so I can't really say that the regular fit is more comfortable than the low rise. Sorry I'm not more help! I can say that I love low rise jeans and won't tolerate anything else really, but the regular fit in the riding sport breeches doesn't bother me at all.

I got my Riding Sports in yesterday, and they fit fine in the waist but were way to big in my botom and legs. And I know that I can't go down a size or else the waist would be too tight. I have TWO WEEKS before Florida, and am very much so stressing. I guess I'm going to need to take out a loan and buy a pair from the local tack store. Even though it makes me sick to pay that much money for a pair of pants I could get cheaper-time granting-somewhere else.

I generally will only wear low rise britches. It seems that with all regular britches, the crotch never comes all the way up unless the waist band is up around my boobs! Don't know the specifics of that brand, but, IME, I love low rise britches. I'd give them a shot!

Are they worth getting altered to fit? If I really liked them that would be my first choice as opposed to sending them back. Shouldn't take more than 4 days or so to have them altered to fit correctly.

Cocopuff thank you for the idea, but I don't think I like them enough to get them tailored.:( I ;m just going to pick up a pair of Ariat Sport Stride Breeches-not full seat-if they still have my size and hopefully!! they will fit. Fingers crossed...

I find the riding sport fall apart. Love the ariats and oddly, find the "On Course" to last forever and be super comfy for not much money
