Almost two years ago, I found this pitiful little girl at a truck stop. She was starving and near death, suffering from kennel cough and a tick infestation you wouldn't believe. To make matters worse, it appeared that she'd been dumped there after weaning pups--AT LESS THAN A YEAR OLD! She's been with me ever since, even though I've been actively trying to find her a home.

I really wouldn't mind keeping her, except that my circumstances have changed dramatically. My mother's recent and unexpected death has put me in severe financial jeopardy, so much so that I was forced to put down one of my older horses and I'm giving away another one. The farm will be sold.

I'm keeping my Great Pyrenees no matter what, but unfortunately, that means Daisy the GS cross has to go. The two girls HATE each other with a purple passion:lol: and can barely tolerate each other now, so I can just imagine the bloodshed if they had to live inside together:eek:

Daisy is on the small side (maybe the size of a smaller border collie), is completely white and comes with the energy of a lab and the curiousity of a cat.:) She is friendly to everyone, but will bond especially closely to one person and she'll want to be involved in EVERYTHING that person is doing. She makes her opinions known (and she has a lot of them:winkgrin:!) by "talking." She gets along well with other dogs as long as they understand that SHE is the boss; she would also do well in a one-dog household. She will chase and kill small animals, so she doesn't need to be anywhere near non-dog savvy cats. My barn cats just swat her and she backs down:cool:.

I really need to find a home for this wonderful girl ASAP. She's healthy, spayed and the Einstein of the dog world. She needs someone who can really maximize her potential and give her a job to do. She'd love that!

Honestly guys, I can't afford to keep this dog much longer. Even if you simply know of some other sites where I can list this girl, please respond.

Is there a GSD rescue near to you? She deserves a chance and perhaps they can direct you.

The only rescue I've contacted is the one closest to me and they turned her down without meeting her because they "don't do whites!" They suggested I take her to the pound, sigh.

I love this little girl and will have her PTS before I do something like send her off to the pound. Not that I want to do that, either, of course...

I've already got two GSD rescues, and two dogs is all my HOA permits (darn it).

Have you tried these rescues? They're both in KY:

I'm bumping this up because Daisy still desperately needs a home. She's listed on my local all-breed rescue's website, but they can't take her because they're full. I've contacted the two rescues listed above and one said they couldn't take her because she kills cats (seems they turn their rescue dogs loose on a huge farm with cats?) and the other one never returned my calls or emails.

Please someone, give her a chance. If I had a way to keep her, I would, but it's getting to the point where I honestly can't afford to feed her. I'm happy to answer any and all questions about her.

Here are pictures (please cut and paste if the link doesn't work):

Note that the rescue has her listed as a large dog--she's not. She's the size of a larger Aussie or Border Collie. Note also that it states that there's an adoption fee, but Daisy is still in my care so she is FREE.

If I could talk my SO into another one, we would take her in a heartbeat. I will keep my ears out for you though! How is she with dogs other than the Great Pyrnees, cats? The more information, the better!

She's great with male dogs, but I'm not sure about other females. The Pyr is the only other female she's been around and both of them are extremely strong personalities. A less dominant female? Maybe. But probably better not to risk it.

She kills cats. My barn cat won't run from her, so she's been okay, but Daisy killed an unfortunate stray who showed up soon after I found her. Daisy also trees squirrels and other critters on her own and has caught a few (not a good thing in my book, but I'm sure a hunter somewhere might think it was great).

Thank you so much for keeping an eye open for her! We'll take any help we can get!:)

I love white shepherds, we've owned them for 30 years and currently have 2, along with 7 other dogs. Unfortunately, we also have many cats but try posting her here:

What a pretty dog. I hope you find her a home. I have out door cats who run away from dogs, so it wouldn't work out.
