Roman is a 22 yr young paint gelding who is free to a good home. He is a b/w paint between 14.1 and 14.2h and stout (I stickd him this am quickly - definetly a pony). He is an easy keeper, good for the farrier and is very affable to his pasturemates.

We took him in to rehome him. His previous owner needed to cut down on horses, as her husband died and she was left with all the work of a large farm. She takes great care of her horses and Roman is in perfect health. My husband got on him and he was great.

Before we brought him home we had a place pre-arranged with a non-horse experienced family. Unfortunately, that fell through so he is at my farm. I have 5 stalls and he makes 6 horses....

Please pardon the mud - it is all I have been able to grow at my place lately...

Viv - you have a pm.

To everyone - if you are interested in Roman, please be prepared to supply both a vet and farrier reference. I don't expect him to go to a palace, but I will ensure he has a safe home. Thanks!

Bump - several inquiries, but none serious. He's a great guy, gets along very well with everyone in the pasture and is really easy ride. Wonderful neck rein and wtc.

One last bump for Roman. According to my trainer (who also is friends/trainer for Roman's previous owner) he is closer to 17 or 18 years old.

I trailered him to an indoor arena this afternoon and got on him myself. What a sweetie. Easy w/t/c both directions. Great neck rein. Very quiet. His walk is slow and steady. His trot is a bit short and choppy - I think it's just how he's built. He has a nice canter, though.

We were curious how "bomproof" he was, so while I was on him my husband lobbed one of the large orange construction cones in the arena towards us and it landed about 2 feet in front of us. He never even flicked an ear.

At this point, I really don't mind keeping him, as I'd love to have a horse that anyone can get on. However, if I can get him into a home where he has his "own" person and lots of love I would let him go.

Thank you to everyone who inquired. Roman has found the perfect home with Sue in Cincinnati where he will be loved and doted upon by beginner pony club kids.
