Posting for a friend.
Trying to find a good home for an 11 yr old warmblood in NJ who has navicular bursa problems. He would be free to good home but I am trying to weed out people who would not be commited to keeping a lame horse who "may" or "may not" become serviceably sound.
She just purchased him last spring and something had to have been done to make him sound to sell. Prepurchase x rays are wonderful....withing 3 months horse was limping and a MRI shows bursa and tendon problems....not new problems....old chronic problems.
Friend bought him as a jumping show horse which is out and she wants to show....he could be a trail horse....could be injected to try and make him somewhat sound, etc. Make a perfect companion horse as he loves to be out and is not alpha.
I have pictures. Please do not respond if you think you can rehab him and if he doesn't you would send him to an auction.....Her worst fear is him winding up as meat.
If anyone knows how she could rehome him any advise would be appreciated!!! She just wants to find him a good home,,,,he is a nice fellow and deserves one.
Thanks

Some extra info would be great...height? Breed? Rider suitability? Temperment?

OOPS sorry
16.2 bay...not sure about what kind of warmblood...will have to ask her.
When he was in regular work alomost anyone could ride him. Takes a lot of leg to get forward, but maybe that is from his lameness. Like a "normal" horse when he is laid up he needs a few days to get the bucks out.
He likes people and likes to work......is an easy keeper as far as turn out...he doesn't get wild outside.
The problem with posting rider suitability is he may never come sound or may be sound for periods and off periods...my friend cannot afford to keep him and find out as she show jumps and he will never do that again.
I have pictures I can email.

Have your friend check out this retirement place in MO. It's a viable alternative for those keeping a horse of questionable soundness for a reasonable board. There is a NJ rescue that has sent several unadoptable horses there, and they are doing well.
