Updated 8/2009...
I never got rid of these blankets I have here. I went through yesterday and figured out what each one needed and took some pictures. I'd like to see these blankets go to a rescue horse. They may not be waterproof anymore but at least they would be warm for this coming winter. They do all need to be cleaned, and some may need minor repairs. For the most part they are all usable as is. SORRY...BUT LOCAL PICK UP ONLY! I really don't want to ship. I would consider meeting within a reasonable distance. I'm in south jersey 20 minutes from the Delaware Memorial Bridge, Philadelphia, Commodore Barry Bridge, etc. I have additional photos of the blankets just ask, but make sure you let me know which blanket!
Size 81" - Schneider's Dura-tech sheet. A few slight tears in the outer lining but they don't go through. I don't know how waterproof it is anymore

Size 87" - WB Fly sheet. Has the belly guard. A tear down the left side, but the rest of the blanket looks good.

Size 84" - Rhino heavy sheet/med weight. I'm not sure the weight on this. It feels heavy for a sheet but light for a medium. It has been patched a couple of times and is most likely not waterproof anymore

Size 84" - Rambo heavy blanket. Been patched a couple times and isn't waterproof.

Size 84" - Weatherbeeta heavy blanket. Some patches already. missing the trail flap and a buckle on the side. Some tears on the inside of the shoulder.

Size 84" - Weatherbeeta sheet. Orican Freestyle. It was used for one season but has a couple of pulls on it from being caught on the fence, but otherwise in great shape. SHOULD BE WATERPROOF!!

darn if you were willing to ship I really could have used them. I could use a few large blankies for rescues I get in that are big. When I rehome I always send their blankets with them so I always end up short.

Shipping would just be expensive, the boxes would be big and heavy. And last time I gave something away on here I was never reimbursed for my shipping, so I'm a hesitant to ship again. I don't have the money to just spend like that. If i did...I'd get another horse!

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my mare back in April also. I am close to 95 in VA and could probably meet you on the way down or your way back. I have two big guys and have never been able to afford to buy them blankets. They usually do pretty well with plenty of free choice hay and their run ins but last year one of my geldings tied up on me and I was stuck standing out with him with my comforter pinned on him :( They are getting older and I have just not been able to pull the money together for them. I would appreciate anything for them.
Thank you

Naples to visit with my aunt and uncle. I was hoping to move down there, but just haven't had much luck lining up any interviews for positions that would work for what I want and need.

I'm located just off I75 a bit north of Ocala..... if you don't give them away before your trip, and your taking I75 let me know. I have a small farm and a couple of big retired WB mares that would be very happy to have some warm cloths.

Hey! I am very interested in anything you have left...I rescued a huge TB from slaughter over the summer and didn't think about the fact that I dont have any blankets that would fit him! It has been pretty cold where I am, I bought one blanket and it just won't last him much longer as it already has a whole in it. I do not have much money to buy any more blankets or tack for him but I could not see him go to slaughter I had to take him. Anything you have left would be greatly appreciated. If you want you can e-mail me at shannoncunneff@aim.com Thanks a ton, Merry Christmas!

Hey again :]
I am still interested in these blankets for my rescue. I would be happy to pay shipping if I have too, or I am in monmouth county, NJ. I actually just got off the phone with somebody who has a TB that needs a home and he is a big boy too just like the other one I rescued. She said he will deffinitally need some TLC, but I think, and hope, I am going to take him and give him another life. He is an OTTB, I believe 16.3 but big built like a warmblood. I would be willing to take all of the blankets off your hands. The would be put to good use and would help a lot! It would be much appreciated, having two big boys isn't the cheapest thing. Let me know! Thank you again, Shannon

I took in a 17.3 hh, 30 year old TB gelding. I did have a lady promise to send a blanket but she never followed through on it. He wears an 84" so if I could be real greedy I'd love the first and last 84" that you have offered.
I live in Canada (Sooke, BC) postal code V9Z 0J1 and would be happy to send the payment for shipping and insurance before it was shipped :)

If you're interested in a local rescue, Saddlebred Rescue is in NJ and they frequently take in huge horses (both ASBs and drafts, which they call Used Amish Tractors). They buy almost exclusively from New Holland, and most of their rescues have been on the road with the Amish.
They were the recipients of USEF's 2006 Heroes for Horses Award, so they're as legit as they come; they're super-nice people to boot.
Their contact information can be found at www.saddlebredrescue.com (http://www.saddlebredrescue.com) and you can tell them I referred you, if you'd like.

I sent them an email with what I have to see if they would want to take them. If so I'll drive them up this week if I have a chance. Thanks for the recommendation, the blankets are far from perfect anymore but i still feel terrible just trashing them...

If the rescue doesn't want them I'll take them. I can pick them up too! I'd hate to see them thrown away, and I can use them. I have three previously abandoned OTTBs at my barn that I care for, and can use whatever I get my hands on. I'm always stopping by the consignment area in my local tack shop; I'm their biggest customer for used blankets and stuff. :sigh:
