Soneone was just telling me about a fantastic hunter named "Hush"......what a cool name!
Is he still competing? What was/is his history?

Hush is a beautiful hunter showing in the AO hunters with Clara Lindner - believe Hush was circuit champion at Wellington last year

Oops, now I remember. I tend to go to HITS/Ocala rather than WEF, but was laid up with a broken wrist last winter.......(from a vehicle, not a horse) Of course, I realize he's won many more shows than WEF.

My computer tells me that I am not allowed to post attachments..so here is a link to a picture I found. Anyone know how to remedy that though? and also, if I remember correctly Hush is a fabulous mover, but I can't find any hacking pictures. I've only seen Hush a couple times though and it was a couple years ago, so I could be wrong about the movement, but boy do they make a gorgeous picture going around the ring!
Sorry wrong picture.

That photo is of "In the Black", not Hush. Close but no cigar.

Here is a picture of Hush - not with Clara Lindner though.

The horse is an absolute freak of a mover. Katie Prudent and a few other professionals have ridden him. He's got quite a story but I don't know all the details.
If you get a chance to watch a hack class he stands so far above and beyond it any company. Definitely worth seeking him out at a show just to see his movement.

Yeah , he is a very special horse when it comes to Movement. he came from Virginia . He was with a very nice lady here who brought him and changed his name. Then he got sold again . So yes there is a story there;)

I love that name.
In fact, I have wanted to name a horse "Hush" ever since the Buffy pantomime episode of the same name aired years ago.
(My other top contender was "Heartfelt". Which of course Scott Stewart had to go and name one of his and make it famous.)
Grr.
I AM KEEPING THE REST OF THE LIST SECRET.

You need to be a premium member to post attachments. There should be something about it in the FAQ.

Doesn't tell much about his movement other than the big step, but it's all I've got : )

Lindner, not linder. They are based out of Cincinnatti, I think. This is by no means their first really top notch hunter. Think Ashford Castle and of course some mare called Strapless.

Oh, and a little "nothing special" little pony called Dreamboat. ;)
I would be interested in hearing about Hush's background. Sometimes it's funny how such great horses had humble beginnings and/or flunked out of their original discipline before going on to SHINE in a different ring.

well we know that In The Black was a Dressage School Dropout owned by another COTH poster before he made his way to the Lindner family... ;)

This should be a topic for a spinoff thread-- horses who are superstars in one division but were epic failures in another. Not just all arounders that dabbled here and there before specializing-- but horses that were deemed completely worthless at one thing and then turned out to be brilliant in something different. I'd be interested to hear those stories. Special Ed comes to mind, there must have been others.

they don't have to be "failures" - I know of several very nice jumpers who topped out at the low jr/aos or just not fast enough for the highs and then get turned around as good to great 3'6" and up hunters.
Have no clue if the "Hush" story fits -

I think there was a COTH thread saying that his old name was "Shawkemo".
And, once again tell me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Lindner's were involved in the Cincinnatti Reds(?), as well as other things.
Another great Lindner horse is Priceless.

The Lindners own most of Cincinnati:) They have been involved in many of the major things in Cincinnati history. I think that the Great Grandfather (maybe great, great) made a niche selling ice cream on the corner during the Depression. That turned into United Dairy Farmers. Awesome ice cream for those from Cincy. It is like a Circle K too for those out west.
Things grew and then they came into Great American Financial, Chiquita Bananas etc. They helped keep the Cincinnati Reds in town after the Marge Schott era.
They are very philanthropic and have endowed a great many things in the Cincinnati area including schools, churches, science and art museums etc.
They used to be big sponsors of the Greater Cincinnati Horse Show eons ago.
Someone from the family sat on the sports commission in Cincinnati which bid for sporting events to come to Cincinnati.
Cincinnat is a better city for having the Lindners live there.

Welll the Lindner's can certainly pick them...my experience has been quite heady in that they decided to breed Strapless to Sir Caletto this year...can't wait to see that one and don't want to jinx it.....

I was thinking it was GG that had 2 Popeye K foals last year (not sure if one or both were embryo), but now I'm wondering if it was Strapless? Either way, I most definitely remember the "baby pics" in the Chronicle...

GG had two Popeye foals last year. One of her own, one embryo. There was another embryo baby that died. I don't know anything about breeding or babies of Strapless.

Bob Crandall imported this one. I'm pretty sure its a full brother or by the same sire as Costello who won the WCHR with Louise Serio a few years ago. He came the the barn as Cameron and I think it was Polly Cooley who bought him and named him Shawkemo. That horse had presence the moment he stepped off the trailer and walked into the barn. I absolutely love that horse. He didnt even last a month at the barn. He went to the Barracks and was champion the first time out and then sold that day I think.

I was at the Barracks when Polly bought him. He came with Talulah who was also a beautiful mover. Kitty won a lot with both of them.
Here is Kitty on him.

Hey Keepthelegend...The medium pony of Dreamboat's that you had...was it Rock The Boat? If it is, how is he? I actually broke him as a two year old. He was so sweet and very easy. I have been looking forward to seeing his debut! He is definitely going to follow in his mommy's footsteps and be a special one!
