I am looking at a 1997 Sundowner Sportman trailer. I haven't ever heard of this model so I was curious to know whether any of you have?? So far it meets the basic criteria of what I am looking for- Aluminum, 2 horse, bumper pull. The price seems right and it is very close by. Let me know if you have had any experience with this particular model...
Thanks in advance!

Since no one else is chiming, in I can tell you I have a 1996 Sundowner. It isn't that model, it is a big ol' one with living quarters, I can't remember the model off the top of my head. It has been a great trailer, absolutely no issues with welds, ramps, floor, anything. I have had to have a couple of the doors rehung and new hinges, but for heavens sake, it is old and has gone a zillion miles! :)

I know some folks have had problems with their Sundowner trailers, but I don't know how old or new they are. This particular one has been great.

There seems to be a block of years (1994 - 1999) that you can't seem to find any resale on. The must be holding up like tanks. The one that I am looking at has only a few rust, it is at a managable time to catch it and get it under control. It seems like start with 2000, the resales are flooding the market. The prices they are asking they are getting for new ones. There has to be something in the middle

Call Sundowner to confirm - I know that in 95 the Sportman was a steel 10' bumper - I think the 97 Sportman might be a manger style steel trailer - might have been the last year they built an all steel trailer -
