I am curious , what Wb and crossbred Hunters competing higher levels, now or past, does everyone know that have Absatz blood? ( And what did they do?)

( since we do not have a way to track this, I must rely on this incredible group of expertise)

The Hanoverian stallion Cabalito has Absatz in his dam line (through dam sire Aderlass).

He showed successfully in the First, (was Champion in Ocala) and 2nd years, then moved up to the jumpers. He is now showing in the Jr. jumpers with a very nice young man in FL and CO.

He has the type and movement of a hunter but has the scope to jump a BIG jump! Very similar I think to Starman- (related in blood on sire side through Cardinal XX) Succesful Conf. hunter and GP jumper.

Of course you can track this.
It took about 10 seconds to search the 2008 USEF leading sires list and get the following info for Hunters.
Not you personally Magic Rose, but I really think a lot of you like to whine about the lack of info but never actually try to look anything up.

The stallion son of Abundance named Hurry Home Jupe won just about everything in hunter breeding here in Pennsylvania and then over fences. He and his owner Jupe Giordano relocated to Colorado where he sired quite a few horses. He was a full brother to Sally Cousins' top horse Altair and our Apparition.

Ruxton had a full brother named Rushton who was also a top ranked hunter.

I have ALWAYS known this is the best blood I could have in my program for the A/O and Conf hunters, but WOW....I had no idea that at least 1/2 to maybe 3/4 of those doing well had it!

it will be VERY interesting to see what comes of this thread on the H/J forum..

Digging a bit more....Adamant had a palomino son named Colt 45 that was PHBA champion for several years, then was very successful in the hunter division.. The dam was a 17 had palomino saddlebred.;)
And currently Showtime WF is doing well at Krome's

Our Abundance daughter Alpenglow won alot in the hunters as a young horse, until injured, which is how we were able to purchase her... and was a foundation of our breeding program... her grandchildren By Beste Gold ( who has Abundance too) are INCREDIBLE, which prompted me to be more curious...

Three Wishes that was an A/A hunter (he won circuit champion at WEF a few years ago) is out of a mare who's dam sire was Absatz. Here is the link to his full pedigree...

Andric is the only direct son that I know of in the US that is still breeding that is by Absatz. He competed in dressage but moves and jumps great... should have been a hunter in another life. I bred a mare to him and got a great moving FANTASTIC jumping foal.

The Absatz grandson Again and Again sired Once Again (from a Castle Magic mare), grand champion young horse at, among others venues, the Devon Horse Show for Betsy Burke Busch, and then became a very successful hunter for John French. Again and Again is full brother to Ruxton, Jackie Blue and Rushton among others. His filly full sister produced a foal by VIP that won the IJF, I believe. His daughter Call Again Please produced several very successful hunters for the IHF and open divisions.
