I was just visiting Edgar's site and noticed a new stallion, Baron Van Gogh.
http://www.rainbowequus.com/breeding.htm

I have not heard of him and am hoping fellow COTHers will be able to share info on him. Edgar always has such lovely stallions it is so exciting when a new one joins the line up.

Details anyone?

Congratulations Rainbow Equus! I think that is the stallion formally called Van Gogh owned by Boreas Farm.

Marieke's stallion? I did not realize his official name was Baron Van Gogh.
If that is the case, congratulations to Edgar and to Marieke.

He's a very well bred and kind stallion. I'm so glad he ended up in a home such as Rainbow Equus Meadows.

I am THRILLED beyond belief that my little Google :D will be going to Edgar and Susan. I can't even begin to express my relief and gratitude.

As many of you may or may not know, I'm on a transplant list, and waiting. I had to find homes for all my horses, and every time one leaves I shed a tear, give them a hug, and wish them off to the best. That Friday night when Susan and Edgar called me and we worked things out I sighed and smiled. Susan and Edgar uphold the highest standards in semen processing, care, their level of standard is high, and I'm delighted that Google will go and join them.

VanGogh, or now Baron VanGogh, is an absolute fantastic horse. He's not mine anymore so I can toot his horn without restrictions. I have never met a horse as talented as him, when it comes to jumping and I also believe in him for dressage. His lines are not known for the high knee action, but you should ride him. That canter is the freakin' most delightfull thing. His trot.... it is like riding a Cadillac. He was slow to mature, and I think he is only just getting to where most 4 yo are normally, but he is the smartest horse I have ever met. Only now is he getting places. Like Rubinstein wasn't much till age 6, that is kind of what is happening to him. He has a great sense of humor. And the absolutely most gorgeous head ever. And those ears........ god love them. Every single foal has them. God I will miss him dearly, I will miss him.

And then, when I go out to feed him and my toddler, with her great self confidence tell him 'move over vangogh....' and walks up to his feed bucket. He shakes his head, because he wants his food, but waits, and then sticks out his nose, and she pets him. He knows.......

And hubby mowing the fields, within feet of his nose, and Google only moves ears to keep track, won't bulge for the mower, you crazy...... that's his grass :D. Or this fall when hubby was sighting in his gun for deer season. Along the pastures, all horse wild and crazy, VanGogh right at the fence watching intendly, as if he was going hunting. He is so unflappable. The only time I have seen him 'spook' is when we put a deer target under his window, and he walked into his stall, and briefly 'shivered', a little jump in place, nothing more.

And this is the best thing ever for him!

Good luck to Edgar and Susan! I wish you absolutely the very best.

AND PS to any and all mare owners. If Edgar and Susan are only half as nice in their costumer relations to mare owners as they have been to me, then they come highly recommended. What a great service attitude, and determination to get the best to you!

I imagine they renamed him with a "B" name to follow Hanoverian naming conventions (assuming they intend to present him for Hanoverian licensing).

Big congrats to Rainbow Equus and to Marieke, and HUGE jingles to Marieke!

Any other stallions in NA with Burggraaf in the pedigree?

Who are the stallion sons in Holland?

Kingston is Voltaire / Burrgraaf. Budweiser is Burrgraaf / Voltaire. I believe the latter is still in Australia.

He also has HUNDREDS of Keur, Prok Ster, Elite, Ster Sport etc... offspring.. Burggraaf is a prolific and Important sire... he has left a huge mark on the sport horse world. I personally have ridden two Burggraaf offspring and they were both lovely.

Vangogh is a lovely stallion with exceptional bloodlines.
