Brass Colored Stirrups???

I have a really great bridle with brass fittings and I love the way the black and brass looks on my grey horse. Years ago I remember seeing brass stirrups but am at a loss as to where to find them now. Any ideas?

HS makes Aurigan stirrups. Check with your local shop that sells Herm Sprenger and be ready to pay$$$$

Thanks so much. That website is great. I agree that brass if horrible to keep clean but I thought about using it just for shows/clinics, etc. I guess I am wanting a little more bling in my old age. My horse has a big head (well he is a pretty big horse) so a fancy bridle with glitz doesn't look so great. The brass on his heavier bridle is a nice touch. Thanks again, everyone.

think carefully about adding all that bling- a woman came to a clinic at our farm with a brass-trimmed bridle, brass stirrups, brass bit- she was not a good rider and the horse was very naughty and all the bling just made the whole picture seem worse

with brass fittings and brass stirrups- to keep them shiney, go to your local paint or marine store. You will find a product- a clear spray on lacquer, specially designed for all weather/marine environments. USE IT OUTSIDE. We put 3 coats on our brass and copper weather vane two years ago and the thing is still bright and shiney and practically bullet proof. I wouldn't put it on a bit since I wouldn't want my horse to eat it off the rings.

There's brass buckles, then there's BRASS BUCKLES AND KEEPERS AND TIPS and such... :lol:

I think brass buckles with normal keepers is not very blingy at all. Sometimes a little more subdued even than silver. The irons would be a tasteful touch, without going overboard, it sounds like.

I definitely agree about too much bling can be... uh... memorable. That's why I don't get to use fancy ANYTHING on my ponies. They are blingy enough. We stick to conservative, plain tack--no white padding, no silver piping :no: --and black, white or hunter green pads. In public anyway. :lol: OK, so we hide a very, very tasteful and understated browband under the forelock. It's lucky, what can I say? :uhoh: If anyone sees us at home in our sparkly purple bell boots or plaid purple pad--well, I just like to make sure the hunters know we're not a deer or moose, and the cars SEE us and slow down. :winkgrin:

My bridle is plain with brass buckles only. I am not usually in to the whole bling thing but I thought the silver from the bit and stirrups clashed with the brass buckles. I guess I won't know how it will all look until I put it on the horse. If it looks too garish, then I will go back to my old stainless standbys.

Also, don't forget the brass spurs if you really want to go all brass. I bought some (never used) and they are displayed in a "display" type coffee table I have with horsey stuff in it. I never got enough nerve to use them!!!
