View Full Version : Sergio Grasso sale!!

So, it may take 6-8 weeks to get them, but I just ordered Sergio Grassos from cavaleurope.com for $360.00. They are on sale for 20% off. When looking at the price don't forget that once you select the USA for your shipping location, about 100 euros gets knocked off the price.
It may take a while for them to get here, but Sergios for less than $400? Count me in!

In the past they've told me 6-8 weeks and I've gotten them in less than that. That's the maximum time, in the situation that the boots need to actually be made in that size and aren't in stock in the wearhouse.
Is it bad that I just ordered a new pair in burgundy?!

Does anyone have a size chart? I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

If I knew for sure that I was ordering the right size (these are my 1st pair of Sergios) I would have ordered 2 pairs in different colors, as well!
The size chart on cavaleurope is VERY comprehensive, but you do need to convert your inches to centimeters.

I have had my eye on that deal! How much did you allow for the boots to drop?

Like you, I got SO much conflicting advice and comments about how much to drop... I had to choose between 4 and 6 cm of drop. I went with the 4 cm drop and I am PRAYING that they aren't too short...

I just wanted to give props to cavaleurope!
I ordered my Sergios from them last August and although they actually did take 7 or 8 weeks to show up (they were out of stock at that time), they were less than $400, and that was WELL worth the extra time it took to get them!
I wish I didn't already have too many pairs of boots or I'd order some in one of the other cool colors too!

PNW, how much did yours drop? Did you use your "true" calf measurement?

Which ones did you order? I might have to take advantage of this deal, my dehners have had it. I just had them stretched and so they now fit around my fat calf, but they are too short. But for $360 I could probably buy them for myself for christmas!

so after looking I don't think they have anything in stock that will fit my fat calves. Damn, I wish I didn't get grandma's figure!

Wow, when I looked at the site I only saw prices for around 360 EUROS. Which is only around $465, still a great price... but more than $360!

mine have dropped maybe a 1/4" so far. But mine have only been ridden in for a total of a maybe a month if I add it all together. I bought them so I could get a pair of boots on after breaking my ankle and leg last spring, but realized after they arrived that there was no way to break in boots with the screws still in my ankle (doh!). So I didn't break them in until this summer. And then I only rode in them at horseshows and clinics for the most part. But with that being said, it doesn't seem like they're going to drop any more.
And I had the same issues as others have mentioned....I couldn't decide how tall to order them. Jacques at Caval Europe suggested that I order them maybe 2cm too tall, and I ended up ordering them 4 or 5 cm too tall. Even then they seem just barely tall enough. Though it could be because I'm so used to my old Ariat Crownes (non-zippered) that I ordered way tall since they drop so much. The zippers are definitely right in the back of my knee.
Regardless of all of that, I get lots of compliments on how pretty the boots are every time I ride. :)

Unfortunately, it didn't work that way for me. Trusting the info above, I checked out and entered my (US) address.
I got charged 380 EUROS.

They deducted the VAT off my order, and combined with the sale, that is a nice pair of boots at a bargain price.

I would check with customer support. Did you select "US" in the drop down menu for country? If you entered a US address without doing that I could see it not automatically pulling off the tax. But you see the deduction before confirming/placing the order, so as an FYI for anyone else, you should see the price you expect to pay before you complete the checkout.
IME Caval Europe has been hugely helpful, so I would imagine they would correct it for you asap.

Yes, I did actually select US as the shipping country. Yes, I did see the notice about not being subject to VAT. And yes, I did contact customer service. The cost - in euros - is on my order confirmation and transaction receipt.
Hopefully they will be helpful. If not, well, VISA is very good about sorting problems out as well.

OK - UPDATE for anyone thinking of placing an order.

Just under $500 by today's exchange rate.

I just went there, put a pair of Bergamo's in my basket, went to the checkout, selected the US as the shipping location, and the price dropped from 341.60 euros to 285.62 euros. The 341.60 was 20% off the original price of 427 euros.
When I ordered a few days ago I got a conformation that 285.62 euros had been charged to my credit card. That is $360.68 at today's exchange rate.
I'm not doubting what you were told, Lucassb, but I'm not sure where the difference is. What style were you looking at?

I want to get my mom a pair of the bergamo's for xmas since they are so cheap but I need help figuring out what size to get.
She's a size 9 and measures about 15.5" at the widest part of her calf and needs an 18.5" in height. So where does that put her as far as sizing...does she need a W? Is there a chart online anywhere that breaks it down...I've only ever ordered mine through reps that did my measurements for me. I'm not even sure about the foot size....any ideas since I'm apparently having a slow day?:lol:
ETA: Ok, so I found this:
http://www.tackitup.co.uk/sergio_grasso.shtml
Converting gives me a 46.99/39.37 height/calf measurement for her and about a 40 in shoe size.
So if it were you guys would you potentially bump her up to a size 41 and order an LW (47/39)...or do you think that's too small in the calf? The 47 height is based on her crown pros which might be just a hair too tall even after breaking in but she likes really tall boots. Would you risk them being even a little taller and bumping way up in the foot (which can be fixed with inserts) to a 42 LW?

So I ordered my Sergio's on Dec 3rd. Received and e-mail confirmation that day with tracking info. My Visa was charged for the boots on my Dec statement....I am still waiting for the boots.
Using the tracking info brings me to a page that has trouble responding. E-mails to cavaleurope have prompted no replies.
Has anyone actually received their boots that ordered them in the last couple of months? I am losing hope!

Well, I haven't!
I ordered my boots before you, 11/29. Still waiting. They finally responded to one of my emails - I've had trouble reaching them via phone - to say that they thought the boots might arrive at their store on Feb. 10. Hmm, that would now be 13 days ago...
Yep, I also experienced the frustrating problem with the changed website and am also unable to access my order with their online tracking system.
I've been disappointed by Amirashop and now these guys, too. I think I will stick with American businesses from now on!

dang it! I just bought a pair of Ariat Crowne Pros because I was too scared to measure for Sergio Grasso's myself since they'd be $800-900 and no tack store in town had a contract with tehm! I knew this would happen!! Maybe I can convince mama that I need them for my birthday ;) Thanks for posting this!

This is an older thread (Late Nov/Early Dec); it was bumped up by someone who had ordered the boots to see if anyone else who had ordered them had received them yet. The boots (though I believe cheaper than in the US) are no longer on sale.

I ordered mine on Dec. 1 and was told the same 6-8 weeks.
At the end of January (8 weeks) I asked for an update and was told, via email, to expect them the following week. Two weeks later, having still not received them, I sent another inquiry via email with no response.
Three days later I sent an email to the sales department, referencing my order confirmation from Dec. 1, asking for un update since at that point it had been almost 12 weeks - no response.
Since I paid with VISA, I called my bank and filed a dispute based on having been charged in Dec and having no product or adequate communication from the company. They credited my account for the $$$ while they looked into the matter.
Interestingly enough, I then got an email response from cavaleurope saying "Please wait two more weeks." That's it - no apology, no reason for the delay, nothing. Just, "please wait two more weeks." Really? For what? Thanks, after this much time I'll just take my money back; I already have a perfectly good pair of Sergios and don't really need another.
To those who are still waiting - I suggest contacting your bank or credit card issuer. They have mechanisms in place to help you with situations like these.

I'm real. I know several people on here "in person" and sold a couple of pairs of my older boots to someone on here. I don't recall how long it took to get my boots, but I'm going to guess 8 weeks??? I was very happy with the service I got through Caval Europe, and I certainly haven't been shy about saying it. I do not have any connection with SG or Caval Europe.

And no, I have no connection to either company. I saw a few threads about the prices at cavaleurope and checked over there every once in a while. I saw a 20% off sale and couldn't resist giving it a shot because I knew I wasn't in a rush and already had boots.
I was worried there for a while, but suddenly they appeared. Now all I have to do is lose the weight that I gained since I ordered them three months ago and I'll be able to wear breeches under them!

So we were pleasantly supprised when they appeared 2 weeks ago. All I can say. Is they are the prettiest boots ever. I got mine really tight in the calf, but they are loosening up. They make my leg look fantastic. Mine have dropped a fair bit and the leather is softening up alot. I showed in them last week and recieved soo many compliments. Of course they were sore after but thats to be expected
