i'm going to get my mare a beta bridle, probably from tayloredtack.com
but once again i'm stuck on the color selection.
she's a bay. no white. solid bay. average head. large eyes:) my saddle is brown, i use a white mattes. most of our other accessories are blue. the quarter sheet is blue with yellow trim.
any ideas of what i should get?
my gf has a lovely yellow beta one for her chestnut mare and i just love the contrast but i'm not sure if that would be the right color for us.

Why not go with the royal blue? Bays are supposed to look good in bold jewel tones like blue/purple/red. The bright blue should also have a nice contrast and would (hopefully) match your other accessories.

yeah, i was looking at the royal blue as well... really it makes sense given the amount of blue accessories we own;)

Are you wanting a bridle to play at home in or to show in  If you are showing then of course brown unless you are a western rider doing games or something. If its for at home I like bright royal blue and puprle on bays and white.

good question.
when we did compete we did endurance, so we were not bound by the classical black or brown. she's rehabbing now from a torn suspensory and will likely not return to competition, but regardless, the colorful bridles are accepted even if we were competing.
we're just walking under tack now. i competed her in a bitless bridle but since i really can't take a chance with her running around on me now given the rehab, i have been riding her with the bit. i'm borrowing my gf's old leather bridle for that and really need to get my own nice bridle that fits her well.

I'm a traditional hunter princess/dressage diva. One that matches the saddle.

I bet royal blue with some yellow inlay or lining would look awesome :)
If you'd like a more traditional look, brown lined with royal blue would be more subtle, but still different.

I thought the blue and yellow inlay would be great, too, but my sister (a DQ) screamed that she is not a circus pony so i hesitated. or maybe i could do yellow padding w/ royal blue bridle?

we're way past traditional... no way we're turning back now;)
