i am looking for a new pair of boots for winter stable fun. need to be waterproof and hopefully have thinsulate or similar to keep the tootsies snuggly while plodding thru water/mud.

i know i loved my mountain horse rim frosts but the water kept getting in thru the laces....

price point should be under $100 (hopefully way under!)

suggestions?

tia!

Ditto. Absolutely LOVE mine. And they are even great in warmer weather. Awesome boots. About $75 is what I paided for the "tall" version.

Another vote here for Muck Boots.

I also heard my BO say these were the only boots he could tolerate having on all day.

Ditto me to on the Muck Co boots...I have the shorter chores and the tall ones too. My hubby has two pairs and even my youngest daughter has a pair...she's not into horses but they're so warm and so waterproof that she uses them as her snow boots. She says they're warmer than her ski boots. I brag about mine so much that half my non-horsie neighbors have wandered to the feed store downtown and bought their own pairs for snow boots.
If you do ride in the tall Muck boots...get a wider pair of stirrups. They're wider than regular boots.

Muck Boots all the way. I don't even put on socks to go to the barn or shovel snow! For those of you that want to ride in them - buy the Brit Riders (tall) or Brit Middies (paddock), they both have a safe heel for riding. I know they're revamping the Brit Rider, but the new name escapes me - could be Colt something.

Misty,
I'm looking for a pair of warm winter boots. Did you get yours at Brenda's in Durham???

Yup, she carries them in the front corner near the windows. She has mostly chores but can get in any of the other styles if you want.

Marli, I wear mine without socks a lot too. My feet stay plenty warm in them, unfortunately I haven't found a pair I can wear in summer because they're too warm. But I've worn my Brit Riders outside entire days in single digit weather and have never had cold toes. On really cold days I wear a pair of smartwool socks and the brit riders and I'm good for 8-10 hours of cold...even standing on cement. I gave away my Mountain Horse and Ariat winter boots a few years back and only wear the Mucks now. They're not the prettiest, but they are the warmest IMO.
I hope they're not changing the Brit Riders too much. I'm on my second pair in about 6 years now. A nice change though would be tall boots like the Brits but with an expandable top so I can wear them with my fleece lined jeans. I cna wear the Brits under loose-leg or wide leg jeans or I usually wear them with winter britches or under my Carhartt overalls but there aren't a whole lot of pants/boot combos that work.
Another plus on the Muck boots...step in and go! I hate anything I have to spend 10 minutes getting onto my feet, LOL!

Tall Muck Boots Artic -- they are fabulous. On my 5th or 6th winter with this pair -- feet never get cold, they're comfy and completely waterproof. Love them!

Wait, what are the Arctics? Now I have to go google those...I thought the only tall ones they made were the Brits.
Whoa, just checked them out online...rated to -40 is pretty darned toasty. Doesn't have the rating for the Brits or Chores that I have but both have been warm down to about -10 for me. We rarely get much colder than that in CT.

Muck boots! They are the best. We get some serious snow here, and they're all I wear all winter long.

I've had Muck Boot Brit Riders for YEARS now, and they refuse to die. They're warm, waterproof, comfy, and good quality.

Muck boots are awesome but I find the Brit Middies to be very cold during the winter! Problem solved with the addition of foot warmers and they do hold up amazingly well.

I LOVE my bogs. I bought them last year - I can wear them in the summer and winter. They are the first waterproof boots that I keep me warm in the winter. Very comfortable, with a thick, cushy sole. Did I say I love them......and they are darn cute!
