My friend's boyfriend was busted having his cat in a complex that allows no pets. He has 9 months left on his lease. He will be evicted if he doesn't rehome his kitty, which he wouldn't mind so much if he didn't have a room mate relying on him to pay his part every month.

He loves this cat so much it is just breaking my heart to hear about it, he went to talk to the animal shelter as a last resort and had to take anti anxiety meds, he was freaking out so badly. The boyfriend, not the cat! He is ideally looking for a long term foster but would be willing to give to a permanent home as well.

Anyway, kitty in question is a 4 year old neutered male. He is a black, long haired, indoor kind of guy. Supposedly very sweet, healthy, great with kids and plays fetch. I'll have a picture of him shortly if anyone is interested.

I would take him in a second if I didn't already have 6 of my own. And it pains me to think of him going into the shelter... the fate of adult cats is not typically a good one there:(

Can anyone help? Lemme know!

If he hasn't already, have him advertise on his local Craigslist -- maybe he could find a college student who would keep the cat til May? I babysat a college student's goldfish over Christmas break via an ad on CL, so people do post that sort of thing!

Or maybe it would be easier to just advertise for a replacement roommate? ;)

I think a photo might help. :)

Where is the kitty? I'm guessing out by you in Shippensburg. I have a friend that would tale him as a foster in a second... but we're over in Pittsburgh.

I would take him, but I'm deathly allergic :(

Thanks for the responses guys, but I received a bit of good news! After wheeling and dealing and begging and pleading with his landlord, he is allowed to keep Smokey as long as they pay extra each month. Soooo, that's what he is going to do!

Crisis averted:D

That's great news, then he should find a more pet friendly apartment. If someone is a responsible pet owner a little quiet cat should be NO problem in an apartment. I am so relieved to read this post. YEAH!!! You have a great boyfriend. If you guys get married you'll need a big enough place for all 5 of your combined cats. This guy sounds like a keeper. You don't find too many people that loyal that they prioritize their pets. :D
