I rescued these two babies, Bonnie and Clyde, about a month ago and they are stable enough now to find a permanent home. Must have situation where they have pasture and shelter. I prefer they go together but need a home with other foals to grow with.

This thread tells their whole story and has pics. Bonnie and Clyde are both in much better condition now and I'll get some recent photos.

I am way too far away to be of any help (but I do have a soft spot for Andy/Lusitano and crosses).

Is there any way the previous owner can help get papers on these two? If daddy is and Andy, they are eligible to be registered as half-Andalusian. All the previous owner really needs to do is tell you the sire's name and sign the forms. Whoever adopts them could then register them if they choose to.

Just a thought. It might help them NOT return to the same situation later on down the road.

If I weren't in FL I would totally take the filly ;)

I'm working on current photos hopefully tomorrow. Both foals are in MUCH better shape just from worming, de-ticking, and food.

These babies came through a rescue center. I know the moms are JC reg. and the dad is a registered Andalusion but their history is sketchy. I don't have names on the moms or dad. The rescue center has a 'no breeding policy' on all their rescues so they hesitate to let the babies go registered. At least, this is my understanding. But I'll work on it and see if I can get some more information.

When I took these two their situation was dire. I had doubts if the colt would even live. 100's of ticks and very serious food, worming neglect. Truly skeletons with skin and very little blood left.

I know there's a wonderful home in their future and I'm not in a hurry. So they're safe with a little pasture and a shelter. But I am a breeding farm so they don't fit with my program.

They will be getting their 6 month shots soon and Clyde will be gelded. Hopefully within a month. I think they're strong enough for that now. They'll get their 3rd worming tomorrow.

I'll work on getting current photos. Both Bonnie and Clyde have correct conformation, pretty movement, which I'm just now seeing, and stellar tempaments. I think they'll finish off about 16h based on the moms, who I did see. I also think they would make very good lower level performance horses.

For an Andy cross like these two, papers will not have any bearing on their breedability. IALHA registers both full and half Andies, and if anyone ever decided to breed the filly, papers or not, a foal from her by an Andy will be registered the same regardless of her registration status. The papers would allow her to compete in IALHA shows though. Of course with a gelding, breeding him is a moot point anyway :)

I so wish they were not that far from me. I would take one of them in a heartbeat, papers or not.
