Yippee !!! They are cutting me loose tomorrow morning. I will get home therapy to continue the rehab, but won't have to deal with the OT / PT zoo this place is. The therapists are all very nice, but they are more used to treating 80-year-old ladies who have fallen and couldn't get up. They are a little challenged by a 56-year-old with good upper body strength, balance, and more than the average amount of biomechanical knowledge (you don't do this dressage stuff without learning how to control your own parts.)
So, I will get to watch my critters grazing in the pasture the next several weeks, since I don't think that hiking down the gravel drive will be a good thing for awhile. I've got my instructor set-up to ride HLCS once a week in order to keep her in a good working mind-set .... and I'll have access to my big iMac desktop again. This laptop has been a brain-saver, but lordy-lordy, it is Windows Vista and is the twitchiest thing ....

Hooray! When you get home, have HLCS give you a warm bran mash with lots of molasses and a peep on top, then get you settled in for your extended stall rest. Maybe you need an Uncle Jimmy's ball too. Will there be someone in the next stall to keep you company?

His name is Walter ... the Best Horse Husband Ever. We will celebrate our 25th anniversary later this month. Sleeping will definitely be better with a warm body next to me ..... even if he does snore ....

That's unless he tends to toss and turn which you will feel much more than usual ;)
Woohoo! Glad you are escaping. Nothing more dangerous than a prolonged hospital stay (only kind of joking).
Hope Walter can build you a hot fire to sit by. It's time to enjoy cozying up with a good book, say My Horse My Teachers ;)

I am thrilled for you, but remember your limitations! Listening to your Dr's and behave!

Good News SS!
You might want to check with your insurance...I was able to choose from any area re-hab facilities. I checked them out and chose one that specialized in working with local athletes. Fantastic!

Woot! Home is soooo much better than the hospital. Or god forbid a rehab.

I dunno. I would think comfort foods are a good thing...
But don't listen to me. I think wonton soup and Hawaiin Punch are the way to go.
Just think...all that time to look over some more stats and maybe include year 2005...

So when you are home and bored, you can do more analysis?? Kidding, kidding.
Follow the doctor's orders so you are on your feet soon! (Or rather, on your horse soon!)
