6 year old TB gelding with enlarged arthritic knee. About 16.1, solid bay, not a speck of white. Tall, lean and elegant and was very athletic. He's currently out 24/7 with a run-in shed. He's sound at a canter/gallop, shows mild lameness at the walk and headbobbing lame at the trot - although has improved a lot over the past couple months and has occasionally taken some sound trot strides on the more even ground. I had hoped to give this guy a forever home, but family health problems have thrown a wrench into the works and I now have to make some heartwrenching drastic decisions. I've been told that he could become light riding sound with a year or so of turnout. I hoped to be able to give him that chance, but have run out of time. He's a very funny guy and very affectionate. Always poking his nose into whatever you're doing in the pasture. Was very helpful to my daughter who was cutting the large weeds out of the fenceline. (wish I had a video camera for that one!) Loves attention. Think 1000 pd. lab! Currently on 4 lbs of grain/day and 4 pads of hay plus pasture. I'm making an appointment to euthanize my retired broodmares after thanksgiving and if I can't find him a home by then, will have him euthanized also. Will break my heart, but reality sucks big time. If someone could give him a home and the opportunity to see if he can come sound, I would be immensely grateful. I will pay to have him euthanized if it doesn't work out after a year. He's located in southeast Virginia.

shameless bump. Still hoping someone could give this guy some more time at turnout. He's really been improving. Anyone????

I wish I had the funds to take him on! I really do!

Anyone willing to make this a joint effort? I have a wonderful place he could stay at for around $150 a month. I'd be willing to go in half with someone?

And I'm in Virginia...
